The article presents the results of a monitoring study of social activity on the Internet. Monitoring of the development and use of the Internet in modern society shows an active growth in the number of users of the World Wide Web. The total number of Internet users is growing dynamically together with the intensity of network use. The high intensity of Internet use, as well as the predominantly "home" use of the network, allows us to increase overall online activity, to improve the quality and versatility of such activity. There are significant qualitative changes in the use of the Internet. Network users demonstrate an active and diverse response to any social processes that occur in society and in the world. They actively use the Internet to obtain diverse social information. Online activity related to the use of the network to express their thoughts and suggestions on various social issues is also recorded. The Internet is also used to contact with government and public structures; to support specific social events that are initiated by users on the Internet, etc. Thus, it can be stated that the online activity of users covers a rather extensive content-targeted field of citizens' social activity. Nowadays, online activity acquires stability, repeatability, mass character inherent in social practices. As a result of the study, factor analysis allowed to identify the following components of online activity: cognitive-informational, emotional-communicative and effective-behavioral, reflecting the features of the meaningful and targeted structuring of social activity on the Internet. The study demonstrated the stability, repeatability, mass character, and the stable nature of the functioning of the selected components (factors) throughout the study period. It also witnessed the presence of leading online activities mediated by the space-time continuum.

The features of the Internet as a leading institution of information law in the XXI century have been studied in the article. It has been determined that a characteristic feature of the Internet is that geographical boundaries do not play any role here. The Internet space is an electronic information space of communications for which there are no borders. That is why it is difficult to ensure effective legal regulation of the Internet, as there is no systematic legislation regulating the relevant types of relations on the World Wide Web, besides, there are objective features of the Internet functioning. It has been stated that an important point of solving the problems of using the Internet is the adoption of the Laws: "On the protection of freedom on the Internet", "On e-democracy", "On distance learning on the Internet". It has been noted that in modern society, the Internet has made it possible to influence greatly the life of every person. With the increased use of the Internet to share confidential information with other users around the world, the demands to protect this information are also increasing. This is why, today, privacy has found its important place in users' lives. However, Internet users have different interpretations of the meaning of privacy. Combining data from the sixth wave (2010–2014) of the World Values Survey (WVS) and the 2012–2013 Perceptions of Electoral Integrity (PEI) expert survey, this study looks at the link between the frequency of citizens’ informational use of traditional media (newspapers, magazines, radio and TV) and the internet, and the accuracy of their perceptions of the electoral process, and investigates how this link varies depending on countries’ levels of press freedom. A multilevel analysis including data from 16 countries shows that the frequency of the use of traditional media has a significantly more positive effect on the accuracy of citizens’ perceptions of electoral integrity in countries with high levels of press freedom compared with countries with low levels of press freedom. The frequency of the use of the internet relates similarly to the accuracy of perceptions of electoral integrity in countries with high and low levels of press freedom.

The increasing interest of people around the world towards the popular cultures of China, Korea and Japan leads researchers to question how these countries influence the socio-cultural spaces of other countries through the export of their mass culture products. This study focuses on the analysis of Chinese doramas in the Russian sociocultural space. The increasing number of online fan communities, the activity of translators and dubbers of Chinese TV series, and the widespread use of the Internet in Russia make Chinese dramas easily accessible to a wide audience. Using quantitative methods, the author of the study came to the conclusion that people in Russia are very interested in Asian cultures, and audiences of Asian TV series are growing at a tremendous rate every year. While Korean dramas remain the most popular in Russia, Chinese serials have great competitive potential against their Korean and Japanese counterparts. This article may be useful to all researchers of mass and popular culture and television series.
