Data collection and monitoring and evaluation (M and E) efforts will take a remarkable deal of time and methodical planning and implementation. In the past, these were finished with paper and pen, which made them susceptible to error, difficult to conduct on a big scale, and immoderate in transaction charges. Information and communication era (ICT) tools, which includes hardware like mobile phones and tablets, applications with the functionality to create digital surveys and software programme application that allows clients to upload the data to storage facilities have reduced the conventional annoying conditions associated with far off data collection and M and E. New knowledge base does not or takes too long time to reach to the farmers, and the needs of practical farming are not communicated sufficiently to the research community. Thus, new collaborative strategies and ICT may be crucial tools to remedy some of the gaps with the useful resource of the use of improving get right of entry to to consequences, know-how trade and communication further to upkeep and schooling. This paper summarizes how digital tools can play major role in extension for monitoring and evaluation and the key troubles, annoying conditions and experiences derived from literature and different case studies.

The purpose of this chapter is to report on the use of information and communication technology (ICT) as a “leveling device” between colleagues dispersed across the United States and México, who shared similar education research interests but came from different research traditions. The author reports on the use of various ICT tools in a process that began in 2006 with a small planning group distributed across México and the United States; grew to include additional participants who met face-to-face in Monterrey, México, in 2007; and continued afterward into 2008 through ICT-mediated mechanisms that were structured to maintain purposeful linkages among colleagues dispersed across two countries. Through this slow, deliberate process, the participants increased their capacity for achieving a broader focus on a shared problem as a research community by learning each other’s perspectives. The strategic use of ICT to support collaboration across borders—in real time and asynchronously—assisted in building a binational education research community.

The major technological leaps that have taken place over the last years, one of which is the creation and increasing use of ICT (Technology, Information and Communication), require a reconsideration of the capability of the computers to meet the expectations of modern education, especially in the field of Special Education. Researches confirm that new technologies offer liberating and amazing opportunities to people with disabilities, as these are not just limited to simple information management but can also operate supportively, improving the learning ability, the academic performance and functionality of the people that have special needs and those with special, educational needs. In this review there is a brief reference on some of the ICT assessment, diagnostic and intervention tools of the past decade, for children with attention and hyperactivity disorders (ADHD). It also refers to the direct connection and interaction between attention and memory capacity as well as, how, with the help of technology, we evaluate, improve memory, and thus attention. The deficit of ADHD in its executive functions and how these can be improved with the help of technology is also brought up in this review.

Claims of rights to land formerly shifting cultivation areas in the past, as referred to by the terms orawu, anahoma, laliwata and osambu are now increasingly ineffective - one of which is because the former shifting cultivation area has been abandoned for a long time where the trees have grown as usual, until hardly leaving the slightest sign of former swidden cultivation areas. As a result, lands in the former shifting cultivation areas in the past are now being taken over and controlled by other parties. This research, which lasted for six months, was conducted in Routa District, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province, considering that in this area a new phenomenon has developed in which land formerly cultivated areas in the past was re-opened by their descendants of current shifting cultivators in order to strengthen land rights claims. There are …. informants participated in this study, including shifting cultivators and descendants of shifting cultivators, government officials, and local law enforcers. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and observations. The study shows that the current strategy of the descendants of shifting cultivators in Routa is to re-open their parents' former shifting cultivation areas - this strategy is increasingly emphasized through planting growing crops, creating boundaries and legalizing land rights with both SKT and SHM. These strategies have proven to be quite successful in overcoming the encroachment of former shifting cultivation areas as well as providing new economic bases for shifting cultivators in the form of land and gardens.

The field of information and communication technology for development is a field constantly changing as new ICT tools emerge and new knowledge gained by field researchers while performing their duties. The research problem: The field ICT field is littered with examples of failed projects because field researchers did not know the best way to carry out their work. The paper is about knowledge imparted by six monitoring and evaluation field researchers after working for almost eight years, from 2010 to 2018, in ICT platforms projects. These platforms were deployed across South Africa’s remote rural areas. The work followed interpretivism as its philosophy and was underpinned by qualitative research methods. Written projects reports, face-to-face interviews and questionnaires were used to collect data and also to triangulate the findings. The participatory evaluation formed the basis for the complete understanding of the finding. (i) Planning; (ii) Deployment; and iii) Usage were found to be critical elements for a successful implementation of ICT platform. Although well planned, numerous lessons were still learned for the benefit of future projects.

Non profitable organizations have been contributing in the development of state and society for a long time. These are generally praised for their progressive agendas. However, occasionally these have also been blamed for having some hidden agenda. This requires strict monitoring and evaluation of this sector. Different policies have been introduced in the past for this purpose. However, some of them have been found to be working for foreign agendas. Therefore, it is extremely important to comprehend the effectiveness of the monitoring and evaluation policies in Pakistan. This paper is focused on different monitoring and evaluation policies and compared it with the policy of PML (N) government (2013-18) to bring to limelight the strengths and weakness of such policies. The research paper is primarily designed to find out comprehensive study that how the government presently monitored the working of NGOs. The analysis will help the policy makers to evaluate the working of NGOs in an effective way. Received: 28 October 2020 / Accepted: 5 December 2020 / Published: 17 January 2021

Civilization progressed through phases like agrarian, semi-industrialization, industrialization, advanced-industrialization and arrived at Information age. Advances in ICT (Information and Communication Technology) transformed most revered ancient concept of ‘Knowledge’ from abstract to measurable form with considerable economic value. Produces of knowledge exercise, in form of data, analyses and documents etc., are being digitized increasingly and stored on servers across the globe building large knowledge warehouses [1,2,3]. Some of these are shared and rests are protected. Material value of these possessions are enormous and immensely attracts attention of cyber predators, armed with aggressive ICT tools and techniques. Cyber predators can now harm both material and digital possessions with digital tools. Thus, human possessions in either form; physical and digital, demands to be defended digitally and an environment of cyber dependence needs to be established. The scope of deliberation is vast though an attempt has been made to present a kaleidoscope of the issues that deserve attention [4,5,6].

Results of the food consumption surveys are utilized in many areas, such as for example risk assessment, cognition of consumer trends, health education and planning of prevention projects. Standardization of national consumption data for international comparison is an important task. The intention work began in the 1970s. Because of the widespread utilization of food consumption data, many international projects have been done with the aim of their harmonization. The present study shows data collection methods for groups of the food consumption data, their utilization, furthermore, the stations of the international harmonization works in details. The authors underline that for the application of the food consumption data on the international level, it is crucial to harmonize the surveys’ parameters (e.g. time of data collection, method, number of participants, number of the analysed days and the age groups). For this purpose the efforts of the EU menu project, started in 2012, are promising. Orv. Hetil., 2012, 153, 1692–1700.
