Mounds, as anthropogenic constructions of a very delicate structure, are subdued to constant changes, which, due to the impact of external factors (prolonged precipitation, tremors) are subdued to deformations in the form of mass movements. These phenomena usually have the character of mild soil creep in time and sometimes, as a result of rapid loss of stability, they are seriously damaged by landslide. This phenomenon causes temporary exclusion of the object from use. In the framework of the protection of these objects, the maintenance was carried out within the preventive measures referring to the construction and surveying monitoring of the geometry changes in time, as a result of phenomena taking place in the ground medium under the influence of environmental factors causing strains. The process of the deformation of mounds is similar to the characteristic, according to the Terzagie's theory. The application of surveying technologies of high precision allows the monitoring of changes in their geometry in time. The properly defined study area and the proper selection of measurement technology in the aspect of the accuracy of the prediction of changes, can efficiently help in defining the scale of deformations in the decisive process referring to the way of efficient protection of barrows. The article presents the results of point monitoring carried out with surveying technologies within 11 measurement series carried out on the selected measurement base of the Wanda Mound. The use of measurement technologies of integrated and specialist software, allows complex assessment of the degree of deformation and the trends of these changes in time, as well as identifying anomaly zones in the framework of the landslide monitoring.

The present three wheeled scooter taxi (TWST) that are widespread in Africa and Asian Countries are fuel economical and inexpensive. However, they are unstable due to their schematic layout. This instability places limitation on the usage of the vehicle. Researchers have investigated the rollover and lateral stabilities of this vehicle, including the effect of vibration on the comfort of the riders. However, not much work has been done on the impact of vibration on the stability of the vehicle. These instabilities could be induced by trenches, potholes, uneven and ungraded roads that are prevalent in developing countries. Therefore, this work modelled and analysed the effect of vibration on a TWST using a standard road bump as reference point. The results proved the vehicle to be unstable in the vicinity of excitation frequency of 15.95rad/sec and spring constant of 68,600N/m due to resonance. This would affect safety of life and property. Therefore, it would be appropriate for some of the manufacturers of these vehicles to provide for enough safety margins in the design and selection of springs where the vehicles are rollover and laterally unstable. This article briefly elaborated the basic concepts of the probe vacillated at testing a large silicon wafer with square four point probe equipment. The importance of the micro-area’s sheet resistance is discussed and the basic principles of four point probe measurement technology are analyzed. Some factors that affect the measurement accuracy are studied, and interference can be avoided while measuring and analyzing the impact on square four point probe measurement by probe vacillate. The calculation formula of the square micro-area probe measurement is deduced when probes vacillated discretionarily. At last, an experiment was made with a small wafer sample and accurate resistivity was gotten.

Abstract. The Sympson-Hetter (1985) method provides a means of controlling maximum exposure rate of items in Computerized Adaptive Testing. Through a series of simulations, control parameters are set that mark the probability of administration of an item on being selected. This method presents two main problems: it requires a long computation time for calculating the parameters and the maximum exposure rate is slightly above the fixed limit. Van der Linden (2003) presented two alternatives which appear to solve both of the problems. The impact of these methods in the measurement accuracy has not been tested yet. We show how these methods over-restrict the exposure of some highly discriminating items and, thus, the accuracy is decreased. It also shown that, when the desired maximum exposure rate is near the minimum possible value, these methods offer an empirical maximum exposure rate clearly above the goal. A new method, based on the initial estimation of the probability of administration and the probability of selection of the items with the restricted method ( Revuelta & Ponsoda, 1998 ), is presented in this paper. It can be used with the Sympson-Hetter method and with the two van der Linden's methods. This option, when used with Sympson-Hetter, speeds the convergence of the control parameters without decreasing the accuracy.

SummaryCase reports cited in Medline or Biological Abstracts (1966-1996) were reviewed to evaluate the impact of vitamin K1 dietary intake on the stability of anticoagulant control in patients using coumarin derivatives. Reported nutrient-drug interactions cannot always be explained by the vitamin K1 content of the food items. However, metabolic data indicate that a consistent dietary intake of vitamin K is important to attain a daily equilibrium in vitamin K status. We report a diet that provides a stable intake of vitamin K1, equivalent to the current U.S. Recommended Dietary Allowance, using food composition data derived from high-performance liquid chromatography. Inconsistencies in the published literature indicate that prospective clinical studies should be undertaken to clarify the putative dietary vitamin K1-coumarin interaction. The dietary guidelines reported here may be used in such studies.

One of the main criteria for economic development is the size of the public debt and its dynamics. The article considers the impact of public debt on the financial security of Ukraine. The views of scientists on the essence of public debt and financial security of the state are substantiated. An analysis of the dynamics and structure of public debt of Ukraine for 2014-2019. It is proved that one of the main criteria for economic development is the size of public debt and its dynamics. State budget deficit, attracting and using loans to cover it have led to the formation and significant growth of public debt in Ukraine. The volume of public debt indicates an increase in the debt security of the state, which is a component of financial security. Therefore, the issue of the impact of public debt on the financial security of Ukraine is becoming increasingly relevant. The constant growth and large amounts of debt make it necessary to study it, which will have a positive impact on economic processes that will ensure the stability of the financial system and enhance its security.

AbstractWe characterized the impact of removal of the ESBL designation from microbiology reports on inpatient antibiotic prescribing. Definitive prescribing of carbapenems decreased from 48.4% to 16.1% (P = .01) and β-lactam–β-lactamase inhibitor combination increased from 19.4% to 61.3% (P = .002). Our findings confirm the importance of collaboration between microbiology and antimicrobial stewardship programs.

For 30 years, forage ryegrass breeding has known that the germplasm may contain a maternally inherited symbiotic Epichloë endophyte. These endophytes produce a suite of secondary alkaloid compounds, dependent upon strain. Many produce ergot and other alkaloids, which are associated with both insect deterrence and livestock health issues. The levels of alkaloids and other endophyte characteristics are influenced by strain, host germplasm, and environmental conditions. Some strains in the right host germplasm can confer an advantage over biotic and abiotic stressors, thus acting as a maternally inherited desirable ‘trait’. Through seed production, these mutualistic endophytes do not transmit into 100% of the crop seed and are less vigorous than the grass seed itself. This causes stability and longevity issues for seed production and storage should the ‘trait’ be desired in the germplasm. This makes understanding the precise nature of the relationship vitally important to the plant breeder. These Epichloë endophytes cannot be ‘bred’ in the conventional sense, as they are asexual. Instead, the breeder may modulate endophyte characteristics through selection of host germplasm, a sort of breeding by proxy. This article explores, from a forage seed company perspective, the issues that endophyte characteristics and breeding them by proxy have on ryegrass breeding, and outlines the methods used to assess the ‘trait’, and the application of these through the breeding, production, and deployment processes. Finally, this article investigates opportunities for enhancing the utilisation of alkaloid-producing endophytes within pastures, with a focus on balancing alkaloid levels to further enhance pest deterrence and improving livestock outcomes.

The risk of theft of goods is certainly an important source of negative influence in human psychology. This article focuses on the development of a scheme that, despite its low cost, acts as a smart antitheft system that achieves small property detection. Specifically, an Internet of Things (IoT)-based participatory platform was developed in order to allow asset-tracking tasks to be crowd-sourced to a community. Stolen objects are traced by using a prototype Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)-based system, which sends signals, thus becoming a beacon. Once such an item (e.g., a bicycle) is stolen, the owner informs the authorities, which, in turn, broadcast an alert signal to activate the BLE sensor. To trace the asset with the antitheft tag, participants use their GPS-enabled smart phones to scan BLE tags through a specific smartphone client application and report the location of the asset to an operation center so that owners can locate their assets. A stolen item tracking simulator was created to support and optimize the aforementioned tracking process and to produce the best possible outcome, evaluating the impact of different parameters and strategies regarding the selection of how many and which users to activate when searching for a stolen item within a given area.
