A game theoretic formalization of the mechanisms of control over the regions as parts of a macroregion with consideration of the requirements of sustainable development is proposed. A modified Solow model is used for the description of the regional state dynamics. The model is identified on real data for the South Russian Federal District. A qualitative comparative analysis of efficiency of the administrative and economic control mechanisms is made.

In this paper we considered applied models of administrative and economic control of the distribution of working time of the university employees. For the formalization of these control methods hierarchical difference game theoretic models are build and investigated. The models contain phase constrains that reflect the requirements of sustainable development of the controlled system. The models were investigated by the method of qualitatively representative scenarios of simulation modeling, and the principal attention was paid to the analysis of the models to sensitivity to its parameters.

Implementation of Education for Sustainable Development is a complex social phenomenon. This research aims to suggest ways to strengthen the implementation of ESD, identifying the factors affecting pre-service teachers’ intention of implementing ESD. To this end, the author focused on revealing the different combinations of conditions predicting Korean pre-service teachers’ intention to implementing education for sustainable development (ESD). The research method is the fuzzy sets qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) using the set-theoretic relations, starting from the premise that social phenomena have causal complexity characteristics. An analysis of 245 valid questionnaires from Korean pre-service teachers resulted in three main findings. The author suggested that teacher education institutions need to include content related to ESD in the teacher education curriculum so that pre-service teachers can cultivate positive attitudes toward ESD and improve their self-efficacy in student engagement and instruction in the context of ESD.   Keywords Education for sustainable development; ESD; Fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis(fsQCA), Necessary Condition; Self-responsibility; self-efficacy; Theory of planned behavior

Applying qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) to large Ns relaxes researchers’ case-based knowledge. This is problematic because causality in QCA is inferred from a dialogue between empirical, theoretical, and case-based knowledge. The lack of case-based knowledge may be remedied by various robustness tests. However, being a case-based method, QCA is designed to be sensitive to such tests, meaning that also large- N QCA robustness tests must be evaluated against substantive knowledge. This article connects QCA’s substantive-interpretation approach of causality to critical realism. From that perspective, it identifies relevant robustness tests and applies them to a real-data large- N QCA study. Robustness test findings are visualized in a robustness table, and this article develops criteria to substantively interpret them. The robustness table is introduced as a tool to substantiate the validity of causal claims in large- N QCA studies.

The purpose of the article is to propose methodological assistance to the selfgovernment system in developing strategies for sustainable development of territorialcommunities. Methodology. The research used the works of foreign and domesticspecialists involved in the development of sustainable development strategies.Authors applied methods of scientific comparative analysis, general scientificmethods of theoretical, empirical research and a method of expert evaluation. Scientificnovelty includes clear well-structured approach to identification of what is neededto develop a strategy of territorial communities’ development, important tasks fora working group, SWOT analysis methods, what should be analysed to achievestrategic goals and consistency of organizational details. Conclusions. Complianceto the proposed scientific methodological approaches to the development of thestrategies of territorial communities’ sustainable development enables the communityto obtain a strategic algorithm for its sustainable development.

Subject. To achieve a high level of economic security is a key priority of national development. Employment reveals one of the most important aspects of social development of the individual that is associated with his or her needs satisfaction in the sphere of employment and is boon to economic security. Objectives. The purpose of the study is to show the impact of unemployment on economic security in employment. Methods. I apply such scientific methods as dialectical, historical and logical unity, structural and functional analysis, traditional techniques of economic analysis and synthesis. The methods of multivariate statistical and comparative analysis serve as a methodological basis of the study. To determine the indicator of unemployment, I use the band theory. Results. I underpin the growing role of employment in ensuring economic security. The paper presents a comprehensive assessment of the unemployment status and a comparative analysis of the indicator in the Republic of Mordovia, the Volga Federal District, and the Russian Federation as a whole. I identify trends in the average duration of unemployment, show the distribution of unemployed by level of education and age groups. Conclusions. The average annual unemployment rate in the Republic of Mordovia is lower than in Russia and the Volga Federal District. The findings may be useful for public authorities to substantiate their employment policy at both macro- and meso-levels, for designing programs and strategies for socio-economic development of regions and the social security doctrine, as well as in practical activities of employment services.

Subject This article deals with the issues of determining the level of financial literacy, identifying problems, and comparing the financial literacy rates of the population of different areas. Objectives The article aims to identify territorial differences in the overall level of financial literacy of the population of the Northwestern Federal District regions and study the prevalence of problems related to the family budget, using financial products, and risk. Methods For the study, we used a sociological survey and an original methodology for indexing the level of financial literacy of the population based on the methodology of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, taking into account the adults' financial competence system proposed by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. Results The article determines the level of financial literacy of the Northwestern Federal District population and identifies similar problems for the District's regions. Conclusions A comparative analysis of the components of financial literacy of the four regions reveals the strengths and weaknesses of each of them. This will help adjust financial literacy programmes being implemented in some regions and developed in others.

Ensuring the sustainable development of agroecosystems requires research into the justification of the impact of environmental factors on the formation of territorial agroecosystems and identifies ways to take them into account in order to justify management decisions and ensure environmental safety. The main goal of the research within the article is to identify the most significant environmental factors in predicting the formation of agroecosystems. Provisions are devoted to the study of the laws governing the functioning of agroecosystems in order to increase their stability. The methods of comparative analysis, generalization, abstraction, logical analysis are applied. A number of provisions are formulated regarding ways to account for the influence of factors on the formation of key elements of agroecosystems.
