Mass-testing is conspicuously entwined in the functioning of the American educational system. It is subject to constant criticism from those who see it as a detriment to improving the quality of education. The authors below suggest that much of this criticism may be misplaced and that a more complete understanding of the role and function of mass-testing is necessary.

<p class="15bIsiAbstractBInggris"><em>The role and function of the mosque also experienced extraordinary development. Mosques not only serve as the main support for ritual worship activities that function to improve mental and spiritual health, but have also been used for various other social activities. Likewise, the architectural design of the mosque, its name, program, management, characteristics of the congregation, and others have also improved tremendously. This paper, apart from giving an appreciation of the increase in the growth and development of mosques with various related aspects, will also analyze it from an educational perspective. This effort, apart from accelerating the increase in equal distribution of opportunities for education in the broadest sense, is also expected to support the achievement of the quality of education in the religious field in particular.</em></p><p class="15bIsiAbstractBInggris"> </p><p class="16aJudulAbstrak"><strong>Abstrak</strong></p><p class="16bIsiAbstrak">Peran dan fungsi masjid juga mengalami perkembangan luar biasa. Mesjid tidak hanya berperan sebagai pendukung utama kegiatan ibadah ritual yang berfungsi meningkatkan kesehatan mental spiritual, melainkan juga telah digunakan untuk berbagai kegiatan sosial kemasyarakatan lainnya. Demikian pula desain arsitektur masjid, nama, program, manajemen pengelolaan, karakteristik jamaah dan lainnya juga mengalami peningkatan yang luar biasa. Tulisan ini selain memberikan apresiasi terhadap peningkatan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan masjid dengan berbagai aspeknya yang terkait, juga akan menganalisisnya dari perspektif pendidikan. Upaya ini selain akan mempercepat peningkatan pemerataan kesempatan memperoleh pendidikan dalam arti yang seluas-luasnya, juga diharapkan dapat menopang capaian mutu pendidikan bidang keagamaan khususnya.</p>

In effort to improve the quality of education in community, school must be able to establish a good relationship with the surrounding community. This school (SD Muhammadiyah 3 Pandaan) is one of the educational institutions, which does not work alone in facing a problem, but SD Muhammadiyah 3 Pandaan inviting the School Committee as its working partner. The focus of the research is learning how the role and the function of school committee, the effectiveness of learning, school principal leadership, quality culture, the obstacles faced by school committee, and efforts to overcome the obstacles experienced by school committee of SD Muhammadiyah 3 Pandaan in efforts to improve the quality of education. The purpose of this research is to find out the role and function of school committee, learning effectiveness, leadership of school principals, quality culture, obstacles faced by school committee, and efforts to overcome obstacles experienced by school committee of SD Muhammadiyah 3 Pandaan in efforts to improve the quality of education. This research uses a qualitative method with the type of case study. Based on the results of research that the school committee is quite active in carrying out its role and function as a advisory agency, as a supporting agency, as a controlling agency, and as a mediator institution. The effectiveness of learning in SD Muhammadiyah 3 Pandaan is seen in exploratorial learning. The leadership of the Principal of Muhammadiyah 3 Pandaan Elementary School is good enough. The quality culture is reflected in “Kantin Sehat” and “Jum’at Bersih”. Some obstacle experienced are the member performance is not good enough, lack of training from the education office, lack of funding. Efforts in overcoming obstacles include: the establishment of POM (Paguyuban Orangtua Murid), a written proposal to the education office, and establishing a healthy canteen, a pick-up car, and membership fees.

<p><strong><em>Abstract<br /></em></strong><em>Laboratory is one of the supporting facilities in im[roving the learning process. Problems found by students regarding the information system laboratory facilities at STMIK Indonesia Padang are</em><em> the computers that suddenly die when operated, the less cold room, display data is blurred, making the inconvenience in the learning process that causes the students less satisfied with the services provided. Students will feel satisfied if the service is expected to match the received. Therefore, a decision support system is needed to analyze the quality of services provided to the students so that it can support the role and function of the laboratory optimally and what attributes need to be improved the quality of service. The method used is Fuzzy Service Quality (Servqual) method. The results showed that the service quality received was not in accordance with the expected because there is a gap of -1.55 for tangibles dimension. Attributes that need to be improved the quality of services are laboratory space is cool and comfortable, the use of laboratories relevant to the field of science, the responsibility of laboratory assistant, the availability of professional teachers and attitudes and behavior of labor officers.<br /></em></p><p><strong><em>Abstrak<br /></em></strong>Laboratorium merupakan salah satu fasilitas pendukung dalam meningkatkan proses pembelajaran. Permasalahan yang ditemukan mahasiswa mengenai fasilitas laboratorium sistem informasi pada STMIK Indonesia Padang adalah komputer yang tiba-tiba mati saat dioperasikan, ruangan yang kurang dingin, data <em>display</em> yang buram sehingga membuat ketidaknyamanan dalam proses pembelajaran yang menyebabkan mahasiswa kurang puas terhadap layanan yang diberikan. Mahasiswa akan merasa puas apabila layanan yang diharapkan sesuai dengan yang diterima. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan suatu sistem pendukung keputusan untuk menganalisis kualitas layanan yang diberikan kepada mahasiswa sehingga dapat mendukung peran dan fungsi laboratorium secara optimal serta atribut apa saja yang perlu ditingkatkan kualitas layanannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode <em>Fuzzy Service Quality </em>(<em>Servqua</em>l). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas layanan yang diterima belum sesuai dengan yang diharapkan karena terdapat <em>gap</em> sebesar -1.55 untuk dimensi <em>tangibles</em>. Atribut yang perlu ditingkatkan kualitas layanannya yaitu ruangan laboratorium yang sejuk dan nyaman, penggunaan laboratorium yang relevan dengan bidang ilmu, tanggungjawab asisten labor, tersedianya tenaga pengajar yang professional dan sikap serta perilaku petugas labor</p><p><strong><em>Kata kunci</em></strong><strong> : sistem pendukung keputusan, laboratorium, <em>fuzzy</em>, <em>servqual</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br /></em></strong></p>

Under the on-going reform of educational system innovative organizational and economic mechanisms are being introduced to make transfer to a new qualitatively-effi cient model. Thus one of the key tasks for the universities’ administrators is to enhance the performance of the faculty, as a factor, determining the overall quality of education. Various approaches to the teachers’ remuneration of labor, work measurement and job analysis are shown in historical evolution beginning from the XVIII century. Current situation with the university teachers’ compensation system is considered in comparison with the average level of compensation for diff erent regions of this country and in other countries as well. Recent measures undertaken to reform the compensation system in the RF higher educational institutions are discussed and evaluated.

Teachers are important element in educational system. Their professionalism should be enhanced to improve the quality of education. They often become scapegoat when the quality of education decreases. However, the appreciation of the Indonesian government and community to them, in term of salary and prosperity are still unsatisfying.To support their families and any other daily needs, most teachers still have to struggle by exploring any other part-time jobs that will automatically bother their main activities to teach. They are like street salesmen selling their items on the public bus who sometimes have to lie and disappointing the customers.

Tujuan kebijakan transformasi perpustakaan berbasis inklusi sosial adalah untuk meningkatkan literasi informasi berbasis Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi, meningkatkan kualitas hidup dan kesejahteraan masyarakat  memperkuat peran dan fungsi perpustakaan, agar tidak hanya sekadar tempat penyimpanan dan peminjaman buku, tapi menjadi tempat pembelajaran sepanjang hayat dan pemberdayaan masyarakat. Perpustakaan harus  memfasilitasi masyarakat dalam mengembangkan potensinya dengan melihat keragaman budaya,  keinginan menerima perubahan, serta menawarkan kesempatan  usaha, melindungi dan melestarikan budaya dan Hak Azasi Manusia dan sesuai dengan tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan. Transformasi perpustakaan berbasis inklusi sosial merupakan wujud perpustakaan sebagai pembelajaran sepanjang hayat. Di mana perpustakaan bukan hanya sebagai pusat sumber informasi tetapi lebih dari itu sebagai tempat mentransformasikan diri sebagai pusat sosial budaya dengan memberdayakankan dan mendemokratisasi masyarakat dan komunitas lokal,  dalam upaya peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat.   The objective of the library transformation policy based on social inclusion is to increase information literacy based on Information and Communication Technology, improve the quality of life and welfare of the community, strengthen the role and function of the library, so that it is not just a place for storing and borrowing books, but a place for lifelong learning and community empowerment. Libraries must facilitate the community in developing their potential by looking at cultural diversity, change, and offering business opportunities, protecting and preserving culture and human rights and in accordance with the goals of sustainable development. Transforming libraries based on social inclusion is a form of library as lifelong learning. Where the library is not only as a source of information but more than that as a place to transform yourself as a center for social culture by empowering and democratizing the community and local communities, in an effort to improve the welfare of the community.

Historically, the surau has become an important means (institution/agency) in terms of community development and enlightenment, particularly in religious learning and cultivation of moral values. In addition, the surau-based education had a significant reputation with regard to the spread of Islam to various regions and the area around an island and beyond, and probably to other countries. As a means of religious education, we can still find surau until now, although its role and function are no longer the same as they were in the past, in which educational activities of Islam in the early days of its growth were carried out under the surau educational system. Thus, since the beginning of the spread of Islam to Indonesia, surau has contributed the shape and pattern of its own in the Islamic educational system

This article looks through the current problem of the modern educational system – the need of pedagogical maintenance of algorithmic system of monitoring of FSES requirements in educational establishment in order to deduce and fetch out the results of pedagogical activity. The author analyses the system of quality evaluation of education, used in schools, points the possible forms and types of formalisation of FSES requirements’ results in educational establishment. The article also suggests to use different ways to get the information for the purpose of evaluation and diagnostics of the quality of education.

Discipline culture is a reflection of the quality of educational institutions. The low level of discipline is the main problem of every educational institution. The role of leadership is very much needed in overcoming this problem. This paper aims to describe the leadership role of madrasah principals in improving the disciplinary culture of students at MAS Patra Mandiri Plaju Palembang. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive analytic study method. Data were collected using interview techniques, observation and documentation study. The results of this study indicate that the headmaster of MAS Patra Mandiri Plaju Palembang has played its role and function in improving the disciplinary culture of students in a fairly good category. This is supported by 2 factors, namely (1) the role models of madrasah principals in complying with school regulations; and (2) socialization of school discipline rules and sanctions for violations. The obstacles faced by madrasah principals are (1) there are still some teachers who do not exemplify student attitudes; and (2) there are still students who are not "deterred" to be given disciplinary violations.
