Aim. To study the biomechanical peculiarities of orthopedic disorders in patients after cerebral stroke and estimate possibilities for their correction. Materials and methods. One hundred and thirty two persons in the late rehabilitation period after the cerebral stroke were examined. The state of loco-motor system biomechanics was assessed, using the rehabilitation complexes “TRUST-M” and “ST-150”. Results. The late rehabilitation period of stroke was characterized by decrease in walking rate and time, rise in step cycle. Speed of movement was disturbed. Combined pain, spasticity, contracture and functional asymmetry of the extremities length determined the formation of individual variant of patient’s pathological locomotor stereotype. When implementing correlation analysis, marked correlation between the severity of orthopedic disorders and the asymmetry of pelvis and extremities length was detected. To correct biomechanical disorders, it was recommended to use complex orthopedic treatment by means of prosthetic-orthopedic devices, which permitted to move and provided stable holding of extremity segments in the desired position. Conclusion. 1. Biomechanical indices characterize the severity of orthopedic pathology in the late rehabilitation period following cerebral stroke. 2. Biomechanical disorders are connected with decreased walking rate and time, raised step cycle, impaired speed of movement. 3. Timely biomechanical orthopedic diagnosis and adequacy of applying prosthetic-orthopedic devices guarantee efficiency of rehabilitation measures in patients after cerebral stroke.

The present review focuses on the flow and interaction of somatosensory-motor signals in the central and peripheral nervous system. Specifically, where incoming sensory signals from the periphery are processed and interpreted to initiate behaviors, and how ongoing behaviors produce sensory consequences encoded and used to fine-tune subsequent actions. We describe the structure–function relations of this loop, how these relations can be modeled and aspects of somatosensory-motor rehabilitation. The work reviewed here shows that it is imperative to understand the fundamental mechanisms of the somatosensory-motor system to restore accurate motor abilities and appropriate somatosensory feedback. Knowledge of the salient neural mechanisms of sensory-motor integration has begun to generate innovative approaches to improve rehabilitation training following neurological impairments such as stroke. The present work supports the integration of basic science principles of sensory-motor integration into rehabilitation procedures to create new solutions for sensory-motor disorders.

In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of teachers who lack motivation and self-efficacy in carrying out their duties. This factor causes a significant decline in school performance and productivity. Therefore, by knowing the level of teacher motivation and the level of self-efficacy of teachers, then the recommendations required by the government to produce quality and high-performing teachers will be known more clearly. Thus, the issue of producing quality and high-performing teachers are used to answer research questions and fill the research spaces found in this study. This study aims to identify the relationship between motivation and self-efficacy of teachers in High-Performance Secondary Schools, Cluster Schools of Excellence, and also Ordinary Day Schools in the state of Penang. A quantitative approach was used in the data collection process of this study. The study instrument consisted of three parts; namely demographics, teacher motivation, and self-efficacy of secondary school teachers. The study sample consisted of 122 secondary school teachers in three schools in the state of Penang. Quantitative data were analyzed using various tests, namely the Independent T-Sample test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation analysis using SPSS software. The findings of the study indicate that there are significant differences in teacher motivation based on teacher age category and teacher tenure. The findings of the study also showed that there were also significant differences in self-efficacy based on length of service. The correlation analysis test also showed that there was a significant relationship between teacher motivation and self-efficacy with a weak magnitude. Therefore, teacher motivation and teacher self-efficacy need attention as it is able to increase efficiency among teachers while improving the quality of the education system.

Determining the state of occlusal relations in orthopedic dentistry is an important step both for diagnosis and for treatment. For the purpose of their study, 65 patients with chronic GP of theІst and ІІnd degree of the development who needed an orthopedic treatment, were used the device “T-Scan III”. Patients had a partial (1-3) loss of teeth of III and IV classes according toKennedy; they were divided into two groups. Group I included 35 patients who had included defects and were not previously prosthetic, group II – 30 patients who had poor-quality bridges of different materials that needed replacement. Control was provided by 20 dentally healthy patients with normal occlusal ratios of dentitions. We have determined that patients with GP with included defects in the dentition have significant deviations from the even distribution of occlusalloading on the dental rows in both of the studied classes according to Kennedy, especially those who had not previously been prosthetic. It is necessary to use a computerized analysis of occlusion with the help of the apparatus “T-Scan III” to all of these patients at every orthopedic stage of complex treatment. The precise definition of supra-contacts reduces the possibility of errors and allows achievement of the ideal – 50% to 50% –relationship between the left and right parts of the tooth-jaw system during fitting and fixing of orthopedic structures and keeping it in the process of their exploitation.

The aim of the study was to investigate the state of parasitic invasions in flocks of carrier and fancy pigeons in south-western Poland. Coproscopic methods (flotation with saturated NaCl and saccharose, as well as the McMaster method) were used to examine 42 pigeon flocks (18 flocks of fancy pigeons and 24 flocks of carrier pigeons). A total of 210 faeces samples were tested. Prevalence was determined, and average intensity and abundance of gastrointestinal parasites were estimated on the basis of OPG/EPG. Dispersive forms of parasites were found in 78.6% flocks (88.8% of fancy pigeons and 70.8% of carrier pigeons). In the flocks of fancy pigeons most invasions were of mixed character, with statistically significantly high indices of prevalence and abundance. In carrier pigeon flocks, monoinvasions with significantly higher indices of average intensity prevailed, which indicates a high risk of invasion in this group of birds. Eimeriosis was found to be the dominating invasion, occurring in 59.5% of all samples, carrier pigeons – 45.4%, fancy pigeons – 77.7% (59.5% of the flocks), average OPG – 12280, abundance – 7309. Capillariasis: in total – 49% samples, carrier pigeons – 35.8%, fancy pigeons – 66.6% (52.4% of the flocks), average EPG – 3216, abundance – 1577. Ascariasis: in total – 24.3% samples, carrier pigeons – 12.5%, fancy pigeons – 40% (28.6% of the flocks), average EPG – 1953, abundance – 474. Eggs of nematodes belonging to Ornithostrongylus were found in 4.2% of the samples in total: carrier pigeons – 3.3%, fancy pigeons – 5.5% (4.8% of the flocks), average EPG – 488, abundance – 20. Tapeworm eggs were found in 6.2% samples in total, carrier pigeons – 2.5%, fancy pigeons – 11.1% (9.5% of the flocks), average EPG – 607, abundance – 37. The correlation analysis showed relationships between the prevalence and diarrhoea only in the case of tapeworm invasion, no relationship between diarrhoea and the mere fact of infection were found in other invasions. However, a significant correlation was found between the average OPG/EPG of diagnosed parasites (especially Eimeria, Capillaria and Ascaridia) and the observed diarrhoea symptoms.

Aim. To explore the possibility of using the GMFM-88 scale for the evaluation of the effectiveness of short-term (21 days) intensiverehabilitation of children with motor impairment. Material and methods. The study included a combination of statistical and analytical methods. 83 children with cerebral palsy underwentintensive physical rehabilitation at the Centre of Medical Technology and Rehabilitation (CMTR. The level of the children’sfunctioning was assessed in accordance with the Gross Motor Function Classification System (hereinafter GMFCS). The GMFM-88 scalehas been employed for the planning of the intervention and the assessment of rehabilitation effectiveness. Results. Statistical analysis of the average values on GMFM-88, before and after rehabilitation and according to the Student t-criterion,shows significant changes in functioning after rehabilitation (t = -6.493, significance level less than 0.0001). This suggests the possibility of using the scale as a tool for assessing short-term interventions. At the same time, the use of this scale justifies the assumptionabout the effectiveness of short-term intensive rehabilitation in the form of significant improvements in the functional capabilities ofchildren with motor disorders. Conclusion. The use of the standardized GMFM-88 scale in this study confirms our assumption regarding the need for periodic, intensiverehabilitation for children with movement disorders. An integrated approach to the detailed assessment of the current state ofthe child makes it possible more accurately identify current problems, determine the nearest development zones, and, consequently, identify the goals and objectives for the rehabilitation period.

Background and Study Aim. This study was conducted to determine the state of readiness of prospective physical education and sports teachers, who were studying in sports education institutions in Turkey. Material and Methods. The sample of the study consisted of 552 prospective physical education and sports teachers, who were chosen by the random sampling method. To collect the data from the sample group, the “Preparedness for Teach Scale”, which consisted of 20 items and 4 subscales. The collected data were analysed for normality by using SPSS 22.0 package software. Because the data demonstrated a normal distribution, the “Independent Samples t-tests” and “One-way ANOVA tests” were conducted. To determine the level of relationship between dependent variables, “Pearson Correlation Analysis” was conducted. Results. In the gender variable of the sample group, statistically significant differences were observed in the subscales of “Designing the instructional process” and “Understanding the learner”. In the grade variable, significant differences were determined in the subscales of “Forming and effective learning atmosphere”, “Designing the instructional process” and “Techno-pedagogical competence”. In the variable of the department of education, significant differences were determined in all the subscales. Because of the correlation analysis, it was observed that there were positive and strong correlations between the subscales of “Forming an effective learning atmosphere” and “Designing the instructional process” (r= 0.807; p<0.05). Conclusions. For teachers to become more confident in themselves and develop their competencies more positively, it will be beneficial to enlarge professional standards and teaching framework. Within this scope, considering the results obtained from the study, it will be beneficial to create positive classroom environments and to ensure that prospective teachers benefit from teachers’ experiences to improve their preparedness to professional life. The study indicated that the competencies of prospective teachers towards the profession of teaching were generally positive. It was observed that several factors affected prospective physical education and sports teachers in their preparedness for teaching. Thus, it is important to ensure that prospective physical education and sports teachers gain acquisitions for their general competencies in the profession of teaching before they complete their undergraduate education.
