Junto con las medidas legislativas, políticas, penales y educativas, imprescindibles para la futura y deseable erradicación de la violencia de género, los estudios centrados en los medios de comunicación constituyen una aportación necesaria por su gran influencia en la audiencia dentro de la vida cotidiana.</p><p>This article presents the results of a research project carried out by the <em>Gender and Media </em>research group at Deusto University in San Sebastián, and focuses on  the analysis of the treatment of the subject of violence against women in Basque newspapers in the period between September 2003 until June 2004 (<em>Berria,</em><em> Deia, El Correo, El Diario Vasco </em>y <em>Gara</em>). Inspired by the work of Michel Foucault, this article explores the classificatory pairs used by 28 Internet users in four urban centres across Canada to describe their daily use of the Internet. The pairs—work/personal, reader/contributor, information/communication, and freedom/control—offer a snapshot of the everyday struggles over the subject positions and the social order that those wider discursive constructions of the Internet present to us. The struggles speak to respondents’ diffuse, yet ongoing, concerns with the increased commodification of Internet spaces. The article argues that there is a need to open up spaces for the critical consideration of our own roles, as Internet users, in the economy of the Internet.S’inspirant de l’oeuvre de Michel Foucault, cet article explore les classifications binaires utilisées par vingt-huit internautes dans quatre centres urbains d’une part à l’autre du Canada pour décrire leur emploi de l’internet au jour le jour.

This text is intended to give some important subjects in the approach to the research with and in the media. The author outlines that the research should be centered in the study of the subject and in the social change process. Inside of this process, the media are a mean of transmission of the sense; they are one of the social institutions with a great responsibility in the construction of the society.

The Social Responsibility of the communication means from Puno City, is the subject of this research. ENGLISH ABSTRACTMigration and Children in Fakir Baykurt’s stories from GermanyThe migration of workers to Germany has been taken up with its causes, consequences and social dimensions; the migration and the problems encountered in subsequent phases have been stated by experts in the subject. Fakir Baykurt’s stories from Germany, regarding the reality they represent, are among the literary forms that coincide with the facts supplied by social sciences. These stories take their sources from true life experiences as the products of observations and experiences with migrant workers and their families in Germany where the writer has passed twenty years of his life and worked for the education of the worker’s children; therefore information related to Fakir Baykurt’s life and his years in Germany are provided in the first part of the study.  The life of children reflected in the stories constitutes the main theme of the study.  Under  the subtitles of “Family and Home Life”, “Education Life and related issues”, “Social environment, friendships and Turkish-German disparity” and “Amidst two cultures”, the lives in Germany of children who have been  raised in working class  families and  who have immigrated from Turkey are  evaluated under the light of facts provided by the stories and examples are given. These stories appear to confirm that literature is an art that reflects the social reality and is open to sociological assessments.KEYWORDS: Fakir Baykurt; Germany; labor migration; child; story

The subject of the research is the procedure for personal income taxation. The purpose of the workwas to determine which personal taxation regime is more justified: progressive or proportional. The paperprovides the reasons for the transition from the progressive to the proportional tax. The risks and possibilities of transition to the progressive scale are analyzed. It is concluded that in order to achieve social justice and improve the welfare of the majority of peoplerather thana very small part of them, it is necessary to adopt a set of economic, fiscal and administrative measures aimed at solving a single task — ensuring the social and economic development of Russia. Discrete measures, such as the introduction of the progressive personal income tax will not lead to desired results. Moreover, the progressive tax cannot be introduced unlessit is ruled by law that large spendings of citizens must correspond to their incomes.

Today, worldview, spiritual and moral problems that have always been reflected in education and upbringing come to the fore in society. In this situation, there is a demand for philosophical categories. One of the priority goals of education in modern conditions is the formation of a reasonable, reflexive person who is able to analyze their actions and the actions of other people. Modern science is characterized by an understanding of the absolute value and significance of childhood in the development of the individual, which implies the need for its multilateral study. In the conditions of democratization of all spheres of life, the child ceases to be a passive object of education and training, and becomes an active carrier of their own meanings of being and the subject of world creation. One of the realities of childhood is philosophizing, so it is extremely timely to address the identification of its place and role in the world of childhood. Children's philosophizing is extremely poorly studied, although the need for its analysis is becoming more obvious. Children's philosophizing is one of the forms of philosophical reflection, which has its own qualitative specificity, on the one hand, and commonality with all other forms of philosophizing, on the other. The social relevance of the proposed research lies in the fact that children's philosophizing can be considered as an intellectual indicator of a child's socialization, since the process of reflection involves the adoption and development of culture. Modern society, in contrast to the traditional one, is ready to "accept" a philosophizing child, which means that it is necessary to determine the main characteristics and conditions of children's philosophizing.

It is an honour for me as President of the Pakistan Society of Development Economists to welcome you to the 13th Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Society. I consider it a great privilege to do so as this Meeting coincides with the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the state of Pakistan, a state which emerged on the map of the postwar world as a result of the Muslim freedom movement in the Indian Subcontinent. Fifty years to the date, we have been jubilant about it, and both as citizens of Pakistan and professionals in the social sciences we have also been thoughtful about it. We are trying to see what development has meant in Pakistan in the past half century. As there are so many dimensions that the subject has now come to have since its rather simplistic beginnings, we thought the Golden Jubilee of Pakistan to be an appropriate occasion for such stock-taking.
