Method for calculating the loss asymmetric vibrators with a remote power point

Existing software tools such as Altair FEKO, Ansys HFSS do not allow correct optimization of asymmetrical vibrators, the design of which includes grounding and counterweights. Meanwhile, counterweights often have large dimensions and high cost, comparable to the cost of antenna radiating elements. These circumstances make the development of a method for calculating the input impedance of an asymmetrical vibrator with a partially recessed base urgent. The proposed method for calculating the input resistance was built in the electrostatic approximation, which made it possible to exclude the radiation resistance from the calculation, leaving only heat losses in the underlying surface. The combination of the mirror image method and the average potential method allows one to take into account the influence of the interface between the media. The calculations performed using the developed technique allow making recommendations for determining the grounding depth and the need to install counterweights, depending on the type of soil and the electric length of the vibrator

During the last several years, the increasing cost and decreasing availability of mixed southern hardwoods have resulted in financial and production difficulties for southern U.S. mills that use a significant percentage of hardwood kraft pulp. Traditionally, in the United States, hardwoods are not plantation grown because of the growth time required to produce a quality tree suitable for pulping. One potential method of mitigating the cost and supply issues associated with the use of native hardwoods is to grow eucalyptus in plantations for the sole purpose of producing hardwood pulp. However, most of the eucalyptus species used in pulping elsewhere in the world are not capable of surviving in the southern U.S. climate. This study examines the potential of seven different cold-tolerant eucalyptus species to be used as replacements for, or supplements to, mixed southern hardwoods. The laboratory pulping and bleaching aspects of these seven species are discussed, along with pertinent mill operational data. Selected mill trial data also are reviewed.

DC/DC converters are widely used in photovoltaic (PV) systems to maximize the power drained from solar panels. As the power generated by a PV panel depends on the temperature and irradiance level, a converter needs to constantly modify its input resistance to remain at the maximum power point (MPP). The input resistance of a converter can be described by a simple equation that includes the converter load resistance and the duty cycle of the switching signal. The equation is sufficient for an ideal converter but can lead to incorrect results for a real converter, which naturally features some parasitic resistances. The goal of this study is to evaluate how the parasitic resistances of a converter influence its input resistance and if they are relevant in terms of MPPT system operation.

Consumer virtual reality (VR) headsets (e.g. Oculus Go) have brought VR non-fiction (VRNF) within reach of at-home audiences. However, despite increase in VR hardware sales and enthusiasm for the platform among niche audiences at festivals, mainstream audience interest in VRNF is not yet proven. This is despite a growing body of critically acclaimed VRNF, some of which is freely available. In seeking to understand a lack of engagement with VRNF by mainstream audiences, we need to be aware of challenges relating to the discovery of content and bear in mind the cost, inaccessibility and known limitations of consumer VR technology. However, we also need to set these issues within the context of the wider relationships between technology, society and the media, which have influenced the uptake of new media technologies in the past. To address this work, this article provides accounts by members of the public of their responses to VRNF as experienced within their households. We present an empirical study – one of the first of its kind – exploring these questions through qualitative research facilitating diverse households to experience VRNF at home, over several months. We find considerable enthusiasm for VR as a platform for non-fiction, but we also find this enthusiasm tempered by ethical concerns relating to both the platform and the content, and a pervasive tension between the platform and the home setting. Reflecting on our findings, we suggest that VRNF currently fails to meet any ‘supervening social necessity’ (Winston, 1996, Technologies of Seeing: Photography, Cinematography and Television. British: BFI.) that would pave the way for widespread domestic uptake, and we reflect on future directions for VR in the home.

Two decades of contestation over the nature and extent of transformation in the South African news media have left a sector different in substantive ways from the apartheid inheritance but still patchy in its capacity to fill the democratic ideal. Change came fast to a newly open broadcasting sector, but has faltered in recent years, particularly in a public broadcaster troubled by political interference and poor management. The potential of online media to provide much greater media access has been hindered by the cost of bandwidth. Community media has grown but struggled to survive financially. Print media has been aggressive in investigative exposé, but financial cutbacks have damaged routine daily coverage. In the face of this, the government has turned its attention to the print sector, demanding greater—but vaguely defined—transformation and threatened legislation. This has met strong resistance.

Abstract This research deals with nonlinear dynamics of a permanent magnet freely levitated above a high-Tc superconductor (HTSC) excited in the vertical direction. Magnetic force and torque can be evaluated analytically by the advanced mirror image method as nonlinear functions of both displacement and roll angle of the magnet. Equations of 3 d.o.f. motion show that the magnet has two oscillation modes due to linear coupling of the horizontal and roll motions. The both modes can be excited by nonlinear coupling with vertical motion when the superconductor is exited vertically in the neighborhood of the sum of the natural frequency of each mode. Frequency response of this combination resonance was numerically simulated. This resonance was also observed in experiments.

Teaching and learning process is an integral in the achievement of human resources who have the skills in the field in accordance with the goals of a college. Students who undergo the study other than he get the knowledge in the field that he studied, will also be given the learning experience given the task by the lecturer supervisor of the course and then the results are feasible for the percentage of campus forums with tools and complete electronic media. Nowadays, the percentage becomes the obstacle by students to get the perfect score, because the percentage is related to the presentation slide which is interesting and easy to understand by the audience. The percentage slide also becomes an assessment at the moment of presentation in front of the class forum, the student is not yet understand how to make an interesting and effective presentation so that the idea is well conveyed. In addition, students also difficult to make a presentation with a combination of images and writing because it has not got the skills to design the slide so much the results of the presentation of what is with a fairly satisfactory percentage value. In today's digital age, it can be said that any profession of someone in the world of organization, both business world and academic world can not be separated from the necessity to do the exposure to explain the purpose of a problem or information. Ability to present good information with an attractive means is necessary to get the ideas and ideas to the person who received the information. Good presentation skills, interesting and informative is needed everyone so that ideas or ideas can be easily understood. One of the media presentations to make the ideas submitted so more informative and interesting is to use Ms. Power point.

Learning resources and media play very important roles in learningactivities in the classroom. Various learning resources complemented withinteractional media will encourage the learners to be more active in theclassroom. The objective of this present research is to analyze whatlearning resources and media are used by the teacher in learningpolyhedrons. This research was conducted in MTs N Malang 1. Themethods of data collection were observations and interviews. To obtain thedata, the researcher made observations during learning activities and thencompared the data from the observations and those of the interviews withthe teacher concerned and with one of the students joining in the learningactivities. The data were qualitative in nature. Based on the data analysis, itwas revealed that learning resources and media used were IT-based. Thelearning resources were electronic books and the package books for GradeVIII and the media were the property from Power Point. The learningbasedIT for students Grade VIII-A MTs N Malang 1 gave good effects on allstudents, so that all of them joined in the learning activities actively.

In this chapter, we investigate the recent situation concerning the seduction of consumers by advertising and the media. A new plethora of media-organised conglomerates is attempting to monopolise our attention and steer our emotions, opinions and choices towards increased consumption through imposed wants in the interest of gross profits for a semi-invisiblised few. Herein we consider: the colonisation of public places (advertising), the work/spend cycle, increased work at the cost of leisure; impression management, status-conscious and conspicuous consumption, reflective versus pre-reflective thinking in consumer choices, the early recruitment of children, how human emotions can become the fuel of overconsumption, class-based emotions and fashion consumption, obsessions with body image, the evasion and silencing of criticism by the corporate media. The approach is one founded in critical theory - a perspective that describes the individual as reciprocally constituted by the society in which she lives, rather than as a passive entity existing prior to socialisation. It seeks to reveal the seduction of our subjectivities (running marketing strategies ‘from within') as contrasted with the value-free, ‘objective' approach of much contemporary social psychology. Contemporary theoreticians in sociology and consumer studies, including Pierre Bourdieu and Juliet Schor, are cited along with deeper philosophical perspectives from the earlier philosopher, Jean-Paul Sartre, complete with references from contemporary books and journals.

In the actual situation, because of the shock of automobile in the movement process and the wire harness in undulating tube placement is random, leading to the relative position of the wire harness is not fixed, Thus lead to crosstalk value has certain dynamic range. In this paper, obtained the unit mutual inductance and mutual capacitance of wire with insulation layer using mirror image method, simulation and prediction of crosstalk dynamic interval by statistical simulation method, obtain harness near end crosstalk changes range within 3dB at a confidence level of 80%. This provides a reference for EMC design of automotive wiring harness.
