The purpose of this study is to criticize the gender language features proposed by Coates (2013) proposed in Lakoff's theory (1975) by investigating speeches expressed by two different genders in interviews. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. Data were analyzed based on the theory of Coates (2013) to find language features based on gender and use the taxonomy of the hedging strategy proposed by Martin-Martin (2008). The results of the research show that male-female language features can be used by the opposite gender by looking at the perspective of the use of hedges and strategies in the concept of speech expressed by gender (male, female).Keywords: feature language; gender; hedges; hedging

This research aims to find out the problems of local community of Bayung Gede to develop tourism Village. Research technique as qualitative method to find, describe and understanding focus of this research. With purpossive sampling as the specific informant and technique analysis data used descriptive qualitative. The result of this research show a complex problems when local community of Bayung Gede develop their own tourism village.  The problems are garbage, infrastructure maintenance, vision and mission tourism village equalizing, souvenir core product and marketing icons. However, as long few years this tourism village has been succeed to done tourism activity with not forced participation or spontal typical participate. The purpose of this analysis is to identify dream interpretation of the main character, Conor O’Malley in A Monster Calls movie directed by J.A. Bayona. The method of this analysis is descriptive qualitative method. Sigmund Freud’s theory is used to analyze. The results of this research show that: (1)The interpretation of dream and the three stories in dream of main character are related to conflict that experienced by Conor.(2) The type of dream experienced by Conor is nightmare. Conor's  nightmare is a reaction to the illness suffered by his mother.

<em>Thematic learning in 2013 curriculum  has competence time front that is ability thinking clear and critical</em><em>. Student could said have ability critical thinking if they pass by 6 step</em><em>s of Critical thinking.  So this study was a purpose was to analyze critical thinking in class 4 students of SD N 2 Kutosari in thematic learning 2013 curriculum. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects were the fourth grade studenst of SD N 2 Kutosari. Data collection though observation, documentation and interview to the fourth grade student. Result research show ability critical thinking of class 4 student of SDN 2 Kutosari already exists, but students do not always think critically but only in limited learning. conducted students begin to be critical with 47,72% of students able to think critically. So the teacher lures students to think critically based on six step of critical thinking</em>

The outbreak of Covid-19 in Mandailing Natal has caused several problems in the economic, educational and social fields. The problems that occur certainly really need the role of Baznas in overcoming them. The purpose of this research is to find out how the distribution of zakat in the process of preventing Covid-19 in Mandailing Natal and to know the perspective of maqashid sharia on this distribution. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method in the review of maqashid sharia. The results of the research show that the zakat distribution mechanism is carried out by means of Baznas actively engaging the community to call for zakat, it is even recommended to the public to take part in paying without having to be visited by Baznas or other policies including the muzakki's own workplace. Zakat distributed is not only in the form of money or food but is adjusted to the needs of the people affected by Covid-19 and is distributed periodically and Baznas is actively monitoring and evaluating the program. Zakat as an Islamic fiscal instrument has helped ease the burden on people affected by Covid. Consumptive zakat or productive zakat can be a mental solution and make the mustahik prosperous. Zakat together with its derivatives has brought enormous benefits to affected communities or other mustahiks. Zakat can guarantee the continuity of life in various aspects including maintaining life, property, religion, reason and of course zakat is the main object of maqashid sharia towards a prosperous society

This research aim to analyze the maxim flouting that were flouted by the characters in the Coco movie script based on Grice’s cooperative principle. This research used descriptive qualitative method to support in analyzing the data. The data sources of this research were the coco movie and its script. The data were accumulated by downloading the Coco movie and script, watching the movie, and collecting the data from the script. The data analysis was conducted by organizing the data into narration, analyzing the data, and make the conclusion. The result of this research showed what types of maxim were flouted in the movie. The results of this research show that the maxim flouted 11 times in the whole dialogue of the movie. The maxim quantity flouted 5 times or 45%. The maxim of relation flouted 3 times or 27%. The maxim of quality flouted 1 times or 10%. The maxim of manner flouted 2 times or 18%. The most dominant maxim flouting is quantity maxim flouting.Keywords: Cooperative principle, Flouting Maxim, Coco Movie

This research is concerned with the motivation in Andrea Hirata’s novel The Rainbow Troops. The novel is also a reflection of the biographical sketches of the author.  The objectives of the study are to identify the kinds of motivations reflected in The Rainbow Troops’ novel and to describe the motivations developing in “The Rainbow Troops” novel. Motivation is a direction and also energy for people to do everything included learning something. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative method in this study with the aim at describing a place, fact and characteristics of population systematically, factually and accurately. This research method is also appropriate to expose social phenomena.  The data are in the forms the text and quotation from the novel containing motivation. The results of research show that there are two kinds of motivations found in the novel: extrinsic and intrinsic motivations. Extrinsic motivation consists of never giving up and education and attitude needs to be learned; for intrinsic: hard work for education, and honesty.

This research is to find out the implementation of bahtsul masail in Fathul Ulum boarding school Jombang, the students’ critical thinking of fiqh, and the implementation of bahtsul masail in increasing the critical thinking of ulya class students in the subjects fiqh of worship. This research is a descriptive qualitative method using a case study design, about how the implementation of Bahtsul Masail in increasing the critical thinking of ulya class students in fiqh worship subjects. The results of research show that: 1) the implementation of bahtsul masail is held once a week on bahtsul masail sughra and once a month in bahtsul masail Kubra. 2) Students’ critical thinking in fiqh subjects is seen when students can describe the problem, criticize the problem and provide answers in accordance with the problems proposition, especially religious jurisprudence issue occurs in the community. 3) The implementation of bahtsul masail at the Fathul Ulum Jombang has increased; students have begun to be critical of the problems arround them. The form of implementation has been carried out in Fathul Ulum Jombang is about the issue of ablution, prayer, and so on.

This research focuses on flouting relevance maxim uttered by the characters in the situational commedy of Malam Minggu Miko 2. The problems of the research are: (1) What floutings forms of relevance maxim are undergone by the characters in situational comedy Malam Minggu Miko 2? (2) What are the reasons of the characters flouting the maxims of relevance? The purposes of this research are: (1) To identify forms of flouting relevance maxims undergone by characters in situational comedy of Malam Minggu Miko 2 (2) To describe the reasons of the characters flouting the maxims of relevance. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative method. This research used theory of Grice. Results obtained from this research show that there are fourty data that represents of flouting maxim relevance. The data divided into two forms of flouting maxim of relevance, they are to change the subject (8) and give an irrelevant statement (32) and for the reason, there are nine type of the reasons of the characters flouting the maxims of relevance there are ten data of hiding the truth (25%), two data of saving face (5%), two data of feeling jealous about something (5%), two data of convincing the hearer (5%), two data of cheering the hearer (5%), seven data of mocking someone (17%), four data of teasing the hearer (10%), five data of lacking of knowledge (13%) and six data of to showing itself (15%). The reasons that are often used in this sitcom is hiding the truth.

This research aims at analyzing the process of ecranisation in the main character’s conflicts and characteristics, Peter Pevensie, that occurs in the novel and the film. The reason for using conflict is because to know the character’s characteristics can be seen from the way he deals with his conflicts. The data were taken from the novel The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian by C.S Lewis and film The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian by Andrew Adamson, because there are numerous differences, among them are Peter’s conflicts and characteristics. The descriptive qualitative method is applied in this research. The results of this research show the process of ecranisation is reduction, addition, and variation. The process of ecranisation found psychological conflict, social conflict, and physical conflict. But the physical conflict did not find in variation. The main character’s characteristics appeared in the novel comprise of wise, firm, responsible, and big-hearted. Whereas in the film the main character’s characteristics describe as stubborn, arrogant, irritable, doubtful, wise, persistent, cautious, and big-hearted.

The research investigates the types of deixis, the types of reference and the reference meaning used by Barack Obama and Chuck Todd in“Meet the Press” interview. In analyzing the data, the researcher uses descriptive qualitative method. The results of the research show that from the total of 372 deixis from 84 conversation, all the five types of Levinson’s (1983) deixis can be found. Regarding the references, President Barack Obama contains both anaphora and cataphora.
