This research aimed to analyze the use of personal pronouns in male and female shampoo television advertisements. This research was conducted qualitatively through three steps of data analysis, namely: data reduction, data display, and conclusion or verification. The data of this research were the utterances transcribed from four male shampoo television advertisements and four female shampoo television advertisements downloaded from YouTube. Based on the data analysis conducted, 50 personal pronouns were found in both male and female shampoo television advertisements. There were 12 (24%) personal pronouns found in the male shampoo television advertisements while there were 38 (76%) personal pronouns found in the female shampoo television advertisements. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that personal pronouns are more frequently used in female television advertisements than in male television advertisements. This is in line with Lakoff’s theory stating that men and women are different in communicating. This is also consistent with previous studies that have found that women tend to use more pronouns than men. Keywords: gender, personal pronouns, television advertisements

Numerous studies have found that there were obvious differences between men and women in research performance, but there is little analysis on teaching. At the same time, the existing studies did not classify the teacher sample but only analyzed the overall sample. This study takes both teaching and research into account, and the sample teachers from a certain university in China are divided into three groups such as outstanding teachers in teaching, outstanding teachers in research, and weak teachers in both teaching and research through cluster analysis based on the discrete data analysis of teaching and research workload from 2018 to 2020. The gender differences in teaching and research performance of male and female teachers in every group are analyzed. It is found that there are obvious differences between male and female teachers in the three groups. By analyzing the correlation between male and female teaching and research performance and gender, age, education, and degree of three groups, it is also found that there are differences between men and women in the correlation of individual factors such as degree and type of graduation university. Based on the results, this paper provides several policy recommendations.

In the last years, the attention to the role of gender in physiopathology and pharmacology of diseases in several medical disciplines is rising; however, the data on the relationship between gender and audio-vestibular disorders are still inconclusive and sometimes confusing. With this letter to the editor, we would like to review the role of gender in audio-vestibular disorders. Literature data show that anatomic variances of the inner ear do exist in men and women and that the different physiology and/or hormonal influence between genders could produce different clinical outcome of routine audiological and vestibular tests. Beyond the epidemiological gender-related differences, the clinical data suggest that the gender has a potential role as an etiopathogenetic factor in audio-vestibular disorders and it is probably responsible for the different clinical features observed between male and female subjects.

As in many other countries, a growing number of women in the Netherlands are entering the labor market. The difference between male and female participation in paid work is decreasing, and more men are taking care of domestic duties. It is expected that these changes will lead to growing numbers of task combiners and to more similar patterns of travel behavior for men and women. The intention of the present research is to investigate these expectations for the situation in the Netherlands. For this goal two groups of time budget data for the period from 1975 to 1990 were analyzed. The focus was on gender differences in trends in time use and mobility. The results indicate that between 1975 and 1990, the distribution of paid work and domestic work by men and women changed, more men and women were performing combinations of obligatory tasks, gender differences in mobility became smaller, and car use, both for men and for women, depended heavily on the workload of an out-of-home paid job.
