COVID19 pandemic has compelled educational institutions to re-navigate their learning modalities to that of fully online learning, thus, generating a totally new experience for teachers and learners who are novices in the flexible or blended learning. This study, therefore, attempted to explore the students’ experiences of online learning in time of COVID19 via in-depth quantitative method. A total of 171 students from secondary, tertiary, to graduate levels engaged in online learning were selected as participants using purposive sampling technique. The researchers-made questionnaire focusing on students’ satisfaction and dissatisfaction with online learning, as well as their desired improvement, was distributed online to these students from which responses were collected. Based on the results, the most common environment and methods for participating classes were student homes and mobile phones (touchscreen/android). Students indicated that they are satisfied with the following features of online classes: selecting a quiet place for online learning, quality classes at home, and being with the family at home while doing online learning. In contrast, students are dissatisfied about the internet connectivity, not getting full attention from teachers, and have difficulty in sharing ideas. Areas that need improvement according to the students were closely related to the causes of complaints, such as improving network connectivity, microphone and sound quality, and smooth communication during online classes. These findings imply that students’ educational environments are important and the quality of interactions can vary depending on the teachers and technology used. This study recommends that an improved and effective online learning system, maintaining academic achievement similar to traditional classroom teaching can be designed in preparation for any possible future crisis like COVID19.

Covid-19 has had a tremendous impact, especially in the field of education, both higher education and basic education. One of the impacts of the covid-19 pandemic is the implementation of a learning system that is carried out online (on a network) from their respective homes which tends to use technology as a learning medium, sometimes there are obstacles in its application. In addition, several obstacles that arise in the implementation of online learning include the first, the difficulties of teachers in managing online learning and are still focused on completing the curriculum. Second, not all parents are able to optimally accompany their children to study at home because they have to work or have the ability to be a child's learning companion. Third, the students also have difficulty concentrating on studying from home as well as increasing saturation which has the potential to cause health problems. Distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic is a challenge in education in Indonesia. Some of these challenges or obstacles are in the form of unequal mastery of science and technology among teachers or educators, problems with internet access which causes not all students to participate, and the high cost of learning quotas. Therefore, synergy, serious, systematic, and sustainable efforts are needed from all relevant parties including families, communities, and the government to resolve existing educational problems. All of these improvement efforts can of course only take place properly if there are government policies that are a shared view of life and policies that can provide solutions to existing problems related to the COVID-19 pandemic, in this case the government is of course the front line in making and determining policies. solution education.

Covid-19 has changed many sectors of life, including education. Various countries have adapted to the online learning system as a response. However, online learning also came with price. Limitations for online meeting applications gave more freedom feeling to students. As a result, students did impolite and improper acts towards teachers and during online classes. In normal face to face class situations, students have more pressure on ethics therefore they think twice about doing improper acts, but the freedom of online learning altered that. The problem is, “What are the effects of online learning on students’ behavior?” So, authors aim to find the relationship between online learning and students’ behavior including ethics and morality. Thus, finding a possible solution as an effort to minimize the effect and possibly prevent unexpected things in the future. Authors used literature review and questionnaire to gather data and descriptive-qualitative research to analyze the data. Various data gathered and connected with each other, and proven that online learning gave more freedom for students and students themselves used it to do impolite and improper acts. The limitation of this research is that the number of respondents was 30, therefore it needs to be expanded on to a wider audience.

Abstract Academic stress is something that is often experienced by students, especially with the change in the online learning system which is felt to put more academic pressure on students. This study aims to examine the contribution of academic self-concept to student engagement in online learning mediated by academic stress. Respondents (N = 356) students in Indonesia University of Education batch 2016 to 2019 completed questionnaire of The Academic Self-concept Scale (? = 0,74), The Online Student Engagement Scale (? = 0,90), and The Perception of Academic Stress Scale (? = 0,80). The sampling technique used is incidental sampling. The analyses technique using linear regression and multiple regression then continued with causal steps to find out whether academic stress can be a mediator in the contribution of academic self-concept to student engagement in online learning. The results of this study indicate that academic stress is not function as a mediator in contribution of academic self-concept to student engagement, because one of the requirements is not fulfilled. However, academic stress can be a predictor of academic self-concept and student engagement variables. Keywords: Online learning; Academic Self-concept; Student Engagement; Academic Stress.

Background: Since the first cases of COVID-19 were discovered, various countries have sought various methods and ways to deal with the pandemic. Some adaptations also need to be made to avoid further adverse effect, such as lockdown which has an impact in learning for all students around the world.. The face-to-face or offline learning system that has been applied as a learning method has also been changed to a distance or online lerning method. This has the potential to have a negative impact on the mental health of students . This study aims to discuss the impact and vulnerability of students to distance or online learning methods. Method: Researchers used 15 journals and literature that discuss the impact and vulnerability of distance learning on students' mental health conditions. Conclusion: Distance or online learning is one of the methods to reduce the spread of covid, but this has a negative impact on mental health especially on the students. The effects experienced by students include anxiety, mild to severe stress, social media fatigue, and depression. The things that underlie this impact have several factors such as unfamiliarity and time needed for adaptation , the ability to use technology, a heavy burden of responsibility, and concerns about the economic burden of parents to finance learning activities. In this pandemic condition, efforts from all parties are needed so that the bad impact on the mental health of students can be minimized.
