This paper investigates the challenges encountered in the teaching of ESP in Algeria, and the main deficiencies  encountered by the learners due to inadequate programmes used in the faculty of medicine.Medical students need English for various reasons since today scientific research is based on English.The implementation of such programmes requires a lot of effort and needs the contribution of the administration, the medical staff and both teachers and students.We suggest to offer English courses to students of medicine.Thus , we are trying to design a course directly related to the needs of medic’s students, and at the same time to provide a practical training so that to equip them with the necessary tools to communicate.Thus the main question is the following :What are main difficulties of teaching English for medical purposes ? And what are the problems encountered during both the teaching and the learning process ? In this paper,we will try to answer these questions.The findings reveal that inadequate preparation of the materials used, lack of well-trained teachers of ESP and lack of motivation are the main problems. In the field of English teaching and learning, many English teachers see that teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is relatively very challenging and thus demands a great deal of creativity to manage classroom activities. This paper aims at describing the use of ILO-SIYB Business Game,  a business simulation, for improving students’ speaking proficiency. This study employed classroom action research, which was administered to find out how the ILO-SIYB Business Game can help improving speaking proficiency of students in Economics Faculty of Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University of Malang, Indonesia. The result of the study showed that the use of ILO-SIYB Business Game could improve students’ speaking proficiency, in terms of several aspects covering fluency, accuracy, and enjoyment in class. Therefore, the game is recommended to be used in ESP classes, especially to students of Economics Faculty. Key words: ILO-SIYB business game, Speaking proficiency, Economic faculty

The article deals with the importance of using video films in teaching English as a foreign language (EFL). In this article, it is described that videos helps students to memorize new words or a new topic during the classes. Descriptive methods analyses are used in this article. The article gives information about the advantages and disadvantages of using different methods in the process of teaching EFL. Also, in the article, it is described that video materials in the classroom can help to solve several problems and form a stable positive motivation of students in the learning process. Lesson plan is the written procedures of activities in the teachingand learning process. Some components which create lesson plan at leaststandard competence, basic competence, objective, and learning activities,also assessment. An observation found that lesson plan mismatched toteaching and learning process. Consequently, students did not meet goodcompetences in their learning. Considering this condition, the developedlesson plan is highly needed to overcome above problems. This article dealswith R n D research design proposed by Borg and Gall (1983). The steps ofresearch-based design focused on preliminary and information collecting,planning, and develop preliminary product of form. The instrument wasused is interview. The result of this study shown that developed lesson planis more attractive, applicable, and informative than previous one. In linewith result, development is very important in education. Educationaldevelopment is way to build creative and innovative thinking. Also,developing lesson plan is needed to determine the success of teaching andlearning process.Key words: lesson plan, competence, and development

Teaching English in Asia typically dominated by teachers and textbooks based. Even worse, teaching English for young learners is generally a matter of vocabularies memorization. The teaching focuses on short-term purposes, those are testing purposes. In fact, in teaching English, the assessment should focus on the function of the language itself. Those teaching styles might be caused by short-term purpose of teaching English: focuses on knowledge and memorization for testing purposes rather than communicative competence. Therefore all the teaching efforts focused on answering the tests while the primary function of learning English is being ignored. Memorizing vocabularies is general activities in teaching of English in primary level.  Thus to avoid such short-term purpose learning, a well and careful designed assessment should put into consideration in teaching English for young learners. Consequently the teaching-learning process will focus on authentic use of language. For those reason, authenticity in the assessment is a major consideration. English for specific purposes which is aimed at developing a specific English material for the students of accounting major is important aspect due to as the specification of materials for teaching English at Vocational Senior High School 2 is needed by the students. This research is aimed at the students’ voices on the specific material needed by the students at accounting major would be become an end result of English teaching material.  This research is aimed at finding specific English materials for accounting major at Vocational Senior High School 2 of Jambi City. Some structured-questions were distributed to arrange the students’ interests of the specific materials. This research was conducted in two classes of SMK Negeri 2 Kota Jambi using a qualitative research. A thematic analysis was implemented in relation to the specific English materials used in the classroom. The findings reveal that some materials are matched with accounting major but some others are not. The materials for accounting major are compiled in a handbook of English material for accounting students which are two chapters of materials; Introduction to Accounting and Conceptual Framework of Accounting.

One indicator of the success ofeducation in the level of classroom learning is when a lecturer is able to build student learning achievement and will be more successful if this achievement can be increased if their attendance is above 80% (minimum 10 times attendance from 12 meetings). If the students can be grown discipline and provided a decent campus facilities, then as difficult as any lecture material or learning process that followed by they undoubtedly will live with feelings of joy, even they will feel sad if that day lecturer could not come because there is a need outside campus.There are four stages of appraisal that apply to each student for each course taken include (1) attendance of 10% (2) Task 20% (3) 30% Semester Exam (UTS) and (4) Final Exam Semester. (UAS) 40%. The writer as a lecturer tries to cultivate motivation to learn from the beginning, in addition to always communicate actively with students who follow the lecture also monitor attendance and assignment, each completed college is always given the practice / tasks are directly given the value, usually given the task quite easily so they can get a value of 100, even if there is a miscalculation, they are still given the opportunity to fix the error so that eventually get a value of 100. With the value of this 100, their motivation to grow and even grow in such a way that spur them to diligent lectures.The difficulty level of the task is balanced with the lecture, the longer it is raised so as to reach the maximum average level of student ability at the end of the lecture meeting...This research reveals that there is no a significant correlation between student achievement to discipline presence of student/mahasiswa with campus facilities. The analyzing was taken from an answer of 55 students who were randomly selected as respondents by filling out the Questionaire that was distributed to them. Key words : achievement, attendance, discipline, campus facility

This study deals with the improvement of the students’ achievement in reading comprehension through advance organizer strategy. The objectives of this research were to improve the students’ achievement in reading comprehension as well as the process of learning reading comprehension by using advance organizer strategy.  The subject of the study was grade XI IPA 2 Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Binjai consisting of 33 students. The data of this study were obtained by using test, observation sheets and interview. This research was conducted in two cycles because in the pre-test (without treatment), the average of the students’ score was 59,24. In the first cycle test, it was 74,30. It is lower than the minimum passing grade, and if is viewed from the observation sheets, the situation of the learning process hasn’t met the criteria of the success. So the writer continued to the second cycle. There was a significant progress on the students’ achievement in reading comprehension in the second cycle, and the average of the students was 82,94. The students were more active and enthusiastic in following the lesson. Therefore, the teaching reading comprehension through advance organizer strategy can improve the students’ achievement in reading comprehension quantitatively and qualitatively. <p>Teachers are a facilitator of the learning process. Teachers give pupils an ample time to discover new things on their own. Many challenges faced by the teachers in facilitating the activity of learners such as planning, creating, preparing, and selecting the materials used in the activity. Because of this, the task of the teachers is multi-faceted. Many things to be considered in making learning activities, must suit the capability of the learners, this activity can be adapted to different learning styles, and the activity must stimulate the interest of the learners. But not all activities are fitted for all learners because learners are diverse and unique in nature. The needs of pupils are the major concern of the teachers, to retain the learning of the pupils and especially the learning could apply in their daily lives for meaningful learning. The research dealt with the challenges of the teachers in increasing the learning retention among pupils and possible activities that stimulate the interest of the learners. This research measure the responses measured in getting the frequency, percentage, and weighted mean using formulas to analyze the data gathered. Utilize descriptive design with a survey questionnaire as the research instrument. This research has two sets of respondents the grade school teachers and pupils. <br></p>
