ABSTRACTThe moral value conveyed by the author to the reader through works of fiction especially novels is useful and useful to the reader. This study aims to describe the moral values associated with social messages and expose the moral values associated with the religious message contained in the novel Tasawuf Cinta by M. Hilmi As'ad. The method used in this research is analytic descriptive method. The results of this study indicate the moral values associated with social messages are: (1) social in social life; (2) relations between human beings of religion, and (3) association between the opposite sex. The moral values associated with the religious message are: (1) the relationship of man and God; (2) human nature and conscience; (3) the personal freedom that man possesses; And (4) the dignity and dignity of each individual.Keywords: moral value, novel

Thisreserachaimsto gain a deep understanding of the moral values ​​contained in the novel Laskar Pelangi and Padang Bulan by Andrea Hirata with the study of genetic structuralism. This research uses qualitative approach with content analysis technique. The data in this researcth is words, sentences, in the form of phrases, description of characters and dialogue of figures and dialogues among the characters that indicate the existence of moral values ​​in the novel. Based on the result of the research indicate that novel Laskar Pelangi and Padang Bulan by Andrea Hirata have moral value in the form of: a) the relationship of human being with God, b) the relationship of human being with themselves, that is self awareness about obligation on themselves, c) the relationship of human beingwith human being in the social atmosphere, ie one's consciousness towards himself and the social sphere and d) the relationship of human being with the nature.  Moral values ​​in terms of the author's world view in the novel include a) the relationship of human being with the God, b) the relationship of human being with themselves, c) the relationship of  human beingwith human being in thesocialatmosphere, and d) therelationship of human beingwiththenature.

The aim of this research is to explain the intrinsic elements and the moral form of the story contained in Tarian Bumi novel by Oka Rusmini (2007). The data of this research were obtained from a novel entitled “Tarian Bumi” by Oka Rusmini (2007). Data were collected by observation method and note-taking technique. The collected data were analyzed using the theory of the Intrinsic Fiction Element (Nurgiyantoro, 2015) and the Moral Value theory in Fiction (Nurgiyantoro, 2009). The results of the analysis are presented using informal methods. Based on the analysis that were conducted the intrinsic elements contained in the novel Tarian Bumi are divided into themes, plots, characters, background, point of view, and language. The form of moral values contained in the novel Tarian Bumi is distinguished into a human relationship with itself, human relationship with God, human relationships with other human beings, and human relations with the environment is manifested with social life. The moral value contained in the novel is a reflection of Balinese people’s life that clings to the concept of Tri Hita Karana.

This research aims at describing moral values which are related with the relationship of human with other human which consists of caring, help each other, deliberation, living in harmony, forgiving, keeping a promise, and respecting others. This research uses qualitative descriptive approach which describes particular event with words or the situational context of the subject in one particular situation. The results of this study show that moral values that include the existence of caring, help each other, deliberation, living in harmony, forgiving, keeping a promise, respecting others, found in the novel Komet Minor by Tere Liye. The quotations relating to the seven forms of moral value are more than 57 quotations. The form of dominant moral value is 18 quotations which found in the value of caring for others while the form of the least moral value is promise with 1 quotation. It is hoped that the value found can be a material of knowledge and learning for literary reader.   The characters in the novel Komet Minor are Batozar, Seli, Ali, the crown, Bibi Nay, Putri, Raib, Uncle Kay. In the novel of Komet Minor the most dominant character is Batozar.

Moral Values in Guru Aini Written by Andrea Hirata ABSTRAKPenelitian ini berisi tentang nilai-nilai Akhlak Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan dalam novel Guru Aini karya Andrea Hirata. Nilai akhlak menjadi fokus utama pada penelitian ini karena akhlak merupakan salah satu pondasi dasar dari sifat manusia yang sangat erat kaitannya dengan perilaku manusia dengan Tuhannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang mendalam mengenai nilai-nilai akhlak berupa nilai takwa, tawakal, kejujuran, keikhlasan, sabar  dan syukur dari novel Guru Aini karya Andrea Hirata. Novel tersebut memiliki nilai akhlak yang perlu diterapkan dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat serta menjadi khazanah keilmuan berkaitan antara agama dan sastra. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan analisis isi. Metode kualitatif ini dapat menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau atau isi komunikasi berupa percakapan, teks tertulis, dan fotografi. Simpulan dari hasil penelitian ini terdapat 6 kutipan dari nilai takwal, 14 kutipan nilai tawakal, 18 kutipan dari nilai kejujuran, 4 kutipan dari nilai keikhlasan, 1 kutipan dari nilai sabar, dan 14 kutipan dari nilai syukur. Kata kunci: Nilai-nilai akhlak, karya sastra, novelABSTRACTThis study contains moral values based on Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah in the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata. The value of akhlak (moral) is the main focus of this research because it is one of the basic foundations of human nature which is very closely related to human behavior with God. This study aims to gain deep understanding of akhlak (moral) values in the form value of piety/morals, resignation/never giving up, honesty, sincerity, patience and gratitude from the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata. The novel has a moral value that needs to be applied in social life and becomes a scientific treasure related to religion and literature. This research uses qualitative method and content analysis approach, this qualitative method can produce descriptive data in the form of written words or communication content in the form of conversation, written text, and photography. This research is descriptive method. By employing descriptive method, this research was trying to present an analysis of moral value and character  in novel Negeri 5 Menara novel by Ahmad Fuadi. Most of the data taken from books and internet references. It aims at finding out the differences between the major character and the minor character and the moral value. This study is structural analysis by employing descriptive method approach. This research is expected to be able to identify the specific differences between the major character and the minor character and the moral value. Hopefully the writer is able to identify some differences of the major and minor characters and find the moral value of the novel. As the result of this research we can identify some character differences. In factual, the major character and the minor character are found in Negeri 5 Menara novel, but they have some differences themselves. And also the moral value is found. There were six major characters as the protagonist that were grouped into “Sahibul Menara”. They were Alif Fikri, Raja Lubis, Said Jufri, Dulmajid, Atang Yunus, and Baso Salahuddin. The other characters in the novel were minor characters, such as Ayah, Amak, Kiai Rais, Ustad Salman, and Tyson. The differences between the major characters and the minor characters in the novel were the major characters that took some important role in the story and the minor characters who did not take important role. The minor characters appeared only to support the major characters even though the minor characters showed up some times. The moral values which could be taken from the novel “Negeri 5 Menara” were sincerity, patience, honesty, and leadership as characterized in the novel. Finally the writer suggests to readers especially English literature students to conduct more research for understanding the analysis of protagonist character.

Time is an important element in modern literature, has always been one of the most important themes of Virginia Woolf’s novels. The purpose of this paper is to look at Woolf treatment of the movement of time within the conscious mind in the novel in title of To the Light House by Virginia Woolf. One conclusion drawn from this study is that Woolf began to use time as a literary element, thereby decreasing her development of plot and characterization. A second conclusion is that she was greatly influenced by the philosophy of Henri Bergson and that consequently her writing increasingly reflects the fluid movement of time within consciousness. This paper demonstrates that Virginia Woolf used time as a formal element of narrative to show the relationship of time to human consciousness; and she never overlooked the fact that time moves human beings toward death. For Woolf, life is characterized by endless variety and movement. Its exquisite beauty is enhanced by knowing that we humans live short lives and lose everything when we die.

The title of the research of “Intertextual Analysis between Lyric Prose Calon Arang: Kisah Perempuan Korban Patriarki and Novel Janda dari Jirah”. This research purpose are to know the structure and the intertextual relationship between lyric prose Calon Arang: Kisah Perempuan Korban Patriarki and novel Janda dari Jirah. There are two theories used in this research, which are structural theory by A. Teeuw and intertextual theory by Julia Kristeva. The metod use in data collection are literature study method which completed by technique note. Then, continue using formal methods and descriptive analysis methods to analyze the data. Furthermore, in the presentation of data analysis result used descriptive method using Indonesian scientific variety, quantitative method, and informal method. There are some revelation obtained based on the analysis against these two work of literature. Firstly, in structural analysis which cover element of plot in lyric prose that is conventional and plot on a complex novel, background on lyric prose and novel is Kadiri, characterization consisting of antagonists and protagonists, and the theme on lyric prose is grudge and anger and theme dissatisfaction on novel show that these two works of liteterature has a relationship. Secondly, the relationship of the second theme of the literary work show that between lyrical prose and novel there is a relationship. This relationship is called an intertextual relationship. This intertextual relationship shows that lyric prose Calon Arang: Kisah Perempuan Korban Patriarki is a previously published work, while the novel Janda dari Jirah is a response or the next work who has expansion, modification, conversion, and ekserp.

Islam requires his people to be literate and educated people. Expected educated person in today’s global era will be increased, while those who are not educated will be reduced in accordance with present era. Islamic education guides students in their development, both physical and spiritual to form honorable personality and character. And will become moral beings in the future in accordance with the noble values of our nation. Islamic educational purposes according to the Qur’an include (1) describes the position of learners as human beings between God and responsibilities in this life, (2) explaining to do as social beings and responsibilities in order of social life, (3) explain the relationship of man the nature and duty to know the wisdom of creation by way of prosperity of the universe, (4) to explain its relationship with God as the creator of the universe.

This study aims to analyse the elements of tazkiyah al-nafs (purification of the soul) in the novel The Missing Piece: Part One and Part Two . In general, character studies discuss three important aspects, one of which is the spiritual. In this study, the researcher will lay emphasis on the message of spirituality depicted by the author through the female character in the novel. This spiritual message can be traced in the elements of spiritual purification ( tazkiyah al-nafs ). In the novel The Missing Piece , elements of tazkiyah al-nafs will be classified in terms of two relationships; the relationship of humans with Allah ( habl min Allah ) and the relationship of human beings with one another ( habl min al-nas ). Based on this concept of tazkiyah al-nafs , the female character in the novel The Missing Piece in both parts one and two, can be seen to convey a number of spiritual messages that make up aspects of female personality in Islam. This includes aspects of aqidah (creed) and ibadah (worship) in line with spiritual concepts and suggestions for the process of the purification of the soul ( tazkiyah al-nafs ). The potential of women authors in the field of Islamic spirituality needs to be given attention, apart from emphasizing moral issues and the quality of female characters. This can also be seen as an effort to elevate women’s writing to be on par with the men’s; it can, in fact, make women’s writing a guide for the formation of an exceptional ummah (Islamic community). Lamut serves many values the lives of individuals with other individuals in the community, good value education, moral and cultural. Lamut art over the centuries has helped the establishment of the pattern of attitude, mindset, and the behaviour of community supporters. Literary works are able to uplift its readers from the everyday to the level of superficiality is more civilized and subtil, adding to the richness of the inner connoisseur, being more sensitive to life and living. Therefore, the need to do research to learn more about the value of moral in the acts of particularly lamut Bangbang Teja Aria. This research is a kind of qualitative research with literary and sociological approach using the method of dekskriptif analysis, i.e. describing the facts which are then followed by analysis. The data source of this research in the form of translation and transcript book story lamut episode story in the Aria Teja Bangbang balamut Gusti Jamhar Akbar, by Sainul Hermawan. Prints the year 2017 published by Scripta Cendikia Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. As for the engineering data analsis in this study i.e., descriptive techniques (Arumsari, 2016:20), which lays out the overall data in advance. Next the researchers interpret or identifying data collected. Results of the study of moral values in the story such as Aria Teja Bangbang: 1) Relationship of humans with God includes two aspects: (1) and (2) the grace of God. 2) human relationships with himself include six aspects, namely (1) optimistic; (2) to be honest; (3) the ingenious; (4) soft; (5) liberality; and (6) patient. And 3) human relationships with other human beings in a social sphere covers four aspects: (1) give nasih; (2) friendship; (3) like the meolong; (4) the faithful; (5) willing to help.
