The fourth industrial revolution promotes a radical transition of chemical-technological systems to a new fifth technological paradigm. The radical transformation of value added chains through the digitalization of processes and products of chemical technological systems raises the urgent issue of staffing in a dynamically changing environment. In the course of studying the processes of digitalization of petrochemical industries, a low level of assessment of the efficiency of production processes digitalization was revealed. The paper considers approaches to assessing the organization of production, some indicators of assessing the efficiency of digitalization at industrial enterprises, a methodology for diagnosing the technological development of discrete production of continuous type. The study offers a method for assessing the efficiency of digitalization of production processes of continuous type, in particular, at petrochemical enterprises, and introduces the system of indicators of organizing digital main and auxiliary industries, the indicators being grouped into an integral indicator. The proposed methodology underlies the information system for monitoring the level of digitalization of production processes of a petrochemical enterprise and is an important tool in the implementation of the digital transformation strategy of enterprises

Modeling of an audit of industrial enterprises energy efficiency on the basis of energy and resource saving evaluation deals with the development of conceptual model domain of manufacturing enterprises resource saving and energy efficiency evaluation, and also with the clarification of the basic definitions of energy management informatization. The organizational, technical and technological development of industrial subset of analyzed enterprises is projected with regard to the continuity, cyclicality, route of all technological processes. These processes are formed by using modular-technological and readily replaceable equipment and modern informatization systems which allow to get the necessary production and managing information just-in-time for all executive staff and engineers about the run-out production and the state of production on the basis of quick and strategic synchronization of all the components of production functioning, including energetic resource saving of production processes. In order to find solutions to the named above accurate theoretical problems of audit modeling of energy and resource saving index of the industrial enterprises which are focused on the rise of energy efficiency, the complex model of evaluation of the management, production organization and resources optimization quality level is suggested, where we take as a basis theoretical and methodological principles of modeling of main components of enterprise business processes on the base of diagnostics and synchronization of production processes that are gained due to informatization systems.

The fourth industrial revolution gives hope for continuation of development of human society which has already led to sharp improvement of quality of life of billions of people after 1800. To achieve it, collaboration of a set of interested parties is necessary for performance of three main tasks: it is fair to distribute the benefits from technological breaks, to constrain their inevitable negative effects and to guarantee that new technologies will expand, but not to limit a possibility of all inhabitants of Earth. The fourth industrial revolution represents a new stage in development of humanity. Her base – three previous industrial revolutions, and driving force – the growing availability of the latest technologies. This revolution only begins therefore the mankind can – and is obliged – not only to develop new technologies, but also to create more flexible forms of government and positive values which will change how we live we work and we communicate. Customization, change of balance of forces between the value of experience of certain designers and value of digital models, decentralization of design and production, new requirements to certification – all these changes become a reality of the global competitive industry. Theoretical and practical aspects of development and implementation of the scenario of breakthrough technological development of the industrial enterprises in the conditions of the Fourth industrial revolution are presented in article. The characteristic and distinctive features of the Fourth industrial revolution is considered on the basis of what the conclusion is drawn that breakthrough technological development can give huge advantages to economy and society. When developing the scenario of technological breakthrough by authors it is offered to use bilateral approach which it is possible to call the strategy of scaling (zoom-in, zoomout). The most perspective directions which the industrial enterprises need to develop for implementation of the scenario of digital transformation today are allocated.

Beginning with the upsurge of the industrial revolution and the subsequent implementation of labor division practices in most production processes in the 19th century, the question of employee rewarding within the framework of industrial value added has been widely discussed. The resulting controversy of appropriate pay was first put forward on a political level, whereby the predominant liberal approaches could be characterized by the principle that labor had to be first and foremost regarded as a commodity being subject to the free market so that labor offer and demand would determine wages and salaries (Berger, 1998; Birnbaum, 2001).

The article analyzes production functions, investigates the features of the Cobb-Douglas function in its multiple variations. On the basis of the analysis carried out, as well as the practical needs of modeling the production systems, the necessity of modeling the production function with the account for the change in the output of production factors over time, is substantiated. As well as with the account for the factor of the modern industrial revolution, characterized by the digitalization of manufacturing. An approach to the development of a function is proposed, which takes into account the change in the output of production factors over time in the context of digitalization. The corresponding production function was modeled based on the example of the manufacturing industry over 2000-2019 in Germany, which is a country that is among the first to introduce modern technologies, including digital ones. The results of modeling the value added using the production function with and without the account for the change in the weight coefficients of the factors over time are presented. It was found that adding the correction factors that define the change in weight coefficients for the factors of the production function over time increased the accuracy of the calculations. Also, a decrease in the resulting (after taking into account the coefficient change over time) exponent coefficient was revealed in the digitalization factor and its increase in the factor of fixed assets involved in the production process (the cost of machinery and equipment) – the output on fixed assets increases annually, and the output of the digitalization factor decreases by about the same extent. It was found that since the relative output of digitalization decreases over time, if there is a need to achieve growth in output through digitalization, it has to be carried out at a growing pace, that is, investments should increase over time. In addition, the earlier investments are introduced, the greater the effect they will give. When modeling the sectors of the Ukrainian economy, it’s advisable to use correction coefficients calculated based on the German data, rather than calculate them based on past periods on the basis of Ukrainian data. From the point of view of practical calculations, this is justified not only by the belated repetition of the technological development processes of developed countries by developing ones (that is, Ukrainian enterprises are introducing the same technologies, but with a delay of 5-10 years or more), but also by the greater relevance of German statistics to the needs of modeling.

About 10,000 years ago, at the beginning of the agriculturalrevolution, on the whole earth lived between 5 and 8 million hunter-gatherers, all belonging to the Homo sapiens species. Five thousand years later, freed from the primary needs for survival, some belonging to that species enjoyed the privilege of devoting themselves to philosophical speculation and the search for transcendental truths. It was only in the past two hundred years, however, with the advent of the Industrial Revolution, that reaping nature’s secrets and answering fundamental questions posed by the Universe have become for many full-time activities, on the way to becoming a real profession. Today the number of scientists across the globe has reached and exceeded 10 million, that is, more than the whole human race 10,000 years ago. If growth continues at the current rate, in 2050 we will have 35 million people committed full-time to scientific research. With what consequences, it remains to be understood. For almost forty years I myself have been concerned with science in a continuing, direct, and passionate way. Today I perceive, along with many colleagues, especially of my generation, that things are evolving and have changed deeply, in ways unimaginable until a few years ago and, in some respects, not without danger. What has happened in the world of science in recent decades is more than likely a mirror of a similar and equally radical transformation taking place in modern society, particularly with the advent ...

AbstractThe UK Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution aims to ban petrol and diesel cars by 2030 and transition to electric vehicles (EVs). Current business models for EV ownership and the transition to net-net zero emissions are not working for households in the lowest income brackets. However, low-income communities bear the brunt of environmental and health illnesses from transport air pollution caused by those living in relatively more affluent areas. Importantly, achieving equitable EV ownership amongst low-and middle-income households and driving policy goals towards environmental injustice of air pollution and net-zero emissions would require responsible and circular business models. Such consumer-focused business models address an EV subscription via low-income household tax rebates, an EV battery value-chain circularity, locally-driven new battery technological development, including EV manufacturing tax rebates and socially innovative mechanisms. This brief communication emphasises that consumer-led business models following net-zero emission vehicles shift and decisions must ensure positive-sum outcomes. And must focus not only on profits and competitiveness but also on people, planet, prosperity and partnership co-benefits.

International economic activity occupies a special place in a complex system of the global economic relations. It reflects the mutual economic dependence of trade and economic activities of different countries of the world. The significance of the development of international economic performance of each country is growing. The purpose of the article is to determine the current state and trends of international economic performance of Ukraine, taking into account changes in the external environment. SWOT-analysis was introduced to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats and ways to overcome weaknesses, solve problems in international economic activity, use strengths and opportunities. International economic activity is a powerful factor in the development of the country's economy and has a significant potential in regard of natural, economic and human resources, but the study has also revealed problems and negative trends. To identify trends in the effectiveness of the country's international economic activity, export-import performance indicators for 2019, 2020 and similar indicators for 2013 were analyzed. In 2020 a decline in exports in the machine-building industry is observed. Furthermore, the exports are dominated by the raw material component. The growth rate of exported goods refers to industries with a small share of value added. At the same time, imports are dominated by high-tech products, indicating a lack of strategy of technical and technological development, which leads to the deindustrialization of the country, which is a significant threat to the economy of Ukraine as a whole and its international economic activity. In the context of economic globalization, the importance of international economic relations is growing. To increase the efficiency of international economic performance it is crucial to address a number of domestic issues: stabilization of political situation, termination of military actions in the east of the country, overcoming corruption, ensuring technical and technological development, implementation of innovations at enterprises, development and implementation of multi-vector strategy, implementation of the strategy of public diplomacy in order to build a positive image of Ukraine. Further research will focus on assessing the effectiveness of international economic activity, identifying threats to national competitiveness and elaborating recommendations for overcoming them.
