Abstract. The purpose of this study was to construct and validate the instrument "Assessment scale of the constitution of professional identity of the bachelor in Physical Education" (EAECP). As proposed by Pasquali (2010), the process was structured in five steps: Construction of the issues; Validity of content; Reproducibility and reliability of instruments; Validation of the construction, and Evaluation of the internal consistency of the instrument. Based on the theory of professional representation, 44 elements were developed, of which 11 were eliminated due to redundancy of ideas. In the content validity step, eight other questions were eliminated, resulting in 25 questions. Confirmatory Factorial Analysis showed adequate suitability after the exclusion of eight more questions, and the achievement of five correlations. The internal consistency of the instruments presented a good level. The results show that the questionnaire, composed of 17 questions distributed in the dimensions have satisfactory psychometric properties that are adequate to analyse the contribution level perceived by students about the practice for the construction of professional identity.

ObjectiveTo psychometrically assess the Children and Young People-Mental Health Self-harm Assessment in Paediatric healthcare Environments (CYP-MH SAPhE) instrument for the identification of immediate risk of self-harm in CYP, aged 10–19 years, in acute paediatric wards or emergency departments.DesignThe CYP-MH SAPhE Instrument was developed through a robust scoping review and Delphi consensus with 30 clinicians/topic experts. To evaluate the psychometric properties, a multicentre exploratory study was conducted.SettingThree acute hospitals in the UK.Participants163 CYP presenting at acute hospital settings with primary mental health (cases) or physical health (non-cases) conditions.Primary and secondary outcome measuresPsychometric properties of the CYP-MH SAPhE instrument were evaluated through Principle Axis Factoring (PAF) with Oblimin (Kaiser normalisation) alongside measures of internal consistency (Cronbach’s α), convergent, discriminant and face validity.ResultsPAF of the dichotomous items (n=9) loaded onto three factors (1) behaviours and intentions; (2) suicidality and (3) self-harm. Factors 1 (Cronbach’s α=0.960) and 3 (Cronbach’s α=1) had high internal consistency. There was: good level of agreement between raters (kappa=0.65); a moderately positive correlation between the CYP-MH SAPhE instrument and the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale; and discrimination between cases and non-cases across the three factors (factor 1: m=88 vs 70; factor 2: m=102 vs 70; factor 3: m=104 vs 68). Assessment of face validity resulted in six items being removed, culminating in an eight question, rapid assessment instrument.ConclusionsThe results support the CYP-MH SAPhE Tool as a potentially reliable and valid instrument to identify immediate risk of self-harm in CYP presenting to acute paediatric healthcare environments, which is a burgeoning and significant global health issue.

The Personality Belief Questionnaire- Short Form (PBQ-SF) is an assessment instrument of personality beliefs based on the cognitive theory that states that these are characterized by a specific pattern of dysfunctional thoughts. The objective of this study was to establish the psychometric properties and structural validity of the PBQ-SF questionnaire in Colombian adults from 18 to 35 years old. To carry out the above and with permission of the author the validation process was initiated following a thorough and rigorous process that led to a final version of the PBQ-SF applied to 1423 persons born in Colombia and living in nine Colombian cities. Analysis of internal consistency among the items (Cronbach´s alpha), confirmatory factor analysis and calculus of goodness of fit estimators were performed. It was found that the Internal consistency of the domains varied from 0,65 for avoidant disorder up to 0,83 for paranoid disorder.

Background: There are presently no validated scales to adequately measure the stigma of suicide in the community. The Stigma of Suicide Scale (SOSS) is a new scale containing 58 descriptors of a “typical” person who completes suicide. Aims: To validate the SOSS as a tool for assessing stigma toward suicide, to examine the scale’s factor structure, and to assess correlates of stigmatizing attitudes. Method: In March 2010, 676 staff and students at the Australian National University completed the scale in an online survey. The construct validity of the SOSS was assessed by comparing its factors with factors extracted from the Suicide Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ). Results: Three factors were identified: stigma, isolation/depression, and glorification/normalization. Each factor had high internal consistency and strong concurrent validity with the Suicide Opinion Questionnaire. More than 25% of respondents agreed that people who suicided were “weak,” “reckless,” or “selfish.” Respondents who were female, who had a psychology degree, or who spoke only English at home were less stigmatizing. A 16-item version of the scale also demonstrated robust psychometric properties. Conclusions: The SOSS is the first attitudes scale designed to directly measure the stigma of suicide in the community. Results suggest that psychoeducation may successfully reduce stigma.

Abstract. The quality of health services depends on the contribution of all the professionals involved in the system, including certain groups, usually forgotten and underrated, such as the health-transport technicians (HTT). With the aim of improving this group's performance, an intervention program, focusing on the development of the workers' technical and social skills, was designed in a collective of enterprises. Information about the first stage of this program, consisting of the assessment of these workers' social skills, is offered in this study. A specific questionnaire was developed: The Health-Transport Technicians Social Skills Questionnaire (HTT-SSQ), made up of three scales (assertive, passive, and aggressive behavior). It was administered to a large sample (N = 530) from the above-mentioned association. The psychometric properties of the questionnaire were analyzed, with quite satisfactory indexes of internal consistency and factor validity, and the group's deficiencies (excess or deficit) were evaluated.

Objective: There are presently no instruments available in German language to assess the therapeutic relationship in psychiatric care. This study validates the German version of the Scale to Assess the Therapeutic Relationship in Community Mental Health Care (D-STAR). Method: 460 persons with severe mental illness and 154 clinicians who had participated in a multicenter RCT testing a discharge planning intervention completed the D-STAR. Psychometric properties were established via item analysis, analyses of missing values, internal consistency, and confirmatory factor analysis. Furthermore, convergent validity was scrutinized via calculating correlations of the D-STAR scales with two measures of treatment satisfaction. Results: As in the original English version, fit indices of a 3-factor model of the therapeutic relationship were only moderate. However, the feasibility and internal consistency of the D-STAR was good, and correlations with other measures suggested reasonable convergent validity. Conclusions: The psychometric properties of the D-STAR are acceptable. Its use can be recommended in German-speaking countries to assess the therapeutic relationship in both routine care and research.

Abstract This study examined psychometric properties and feasibility of the Family Psychoeducation (FPE) Fidelity Scale. Fidelity assessors conducted reviews using the FPE fidelity scale four times over 18 months at five sites in Norway. After completing fidelity reviews, assessors rated feasibility of the fidelity review process. The FPE fidelity scale showed excellent interrater reliability (.99), interrater item agreement (88%), and internal consistency (mean = .84 across four time points). By the 18-month follow-up, all five sites increased fidelity and three reached adequate fidelity. Fidelity assessors rated feasibility as excellent. The FPE fidelity scale has good psychometric properties and is feasible for evaluating the implementation of FPE programs. Trial registration ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03271242.
