Abstract: Binjai leaf is known to have effective secondary metabolites as larvacide. The aim of this study was to recognize larvacidal effectivity of Binjai leaf ethanol extract toward Aedes aegypti larva. This was experimental study with posttest only control group design by using 7 treatment and 4 replication. Treatment was available from preliminary test which were 1000, 5000, 10.000, 15.000 and 20.000 (mg/L), negative xontrol (water) and positive control (themephos 100 mg/L). Probit test resulted in LC50 value=5493.390 mg/L and LC90 value=14988.861mg/L Kruskal-Wallis test resulted in p=0,000 which meaned there was an effect of binjai leaf ethanol extract toward Aedes aegypti larva. Meanwhile, Mann-Whitney test resulted in p=0,371 which meaned there was no significant difference between concentration of 20.000 mg/L and temephos 100 mg/L. In conclusion, binjai leaf (Mangifera caesia) ethanol extract have larvacidal activity as effective as temephos toward Aedes aegypti larva. Keywords: Larvacide, Binjai leaves, Aedes aegypti Abstrak: Daun binjai diketahui memiliki kandungan metabolit sekunder yang berpotensi sebagai larvasida. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas larvasida ekstrak etanol daun binjai terhadap larva Aedes aegypti. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis eksperimental dengan metode posttest only contol grup design menggunakan tujuh kelompok perlakuan dan 4 replikasi. Tujuh kelompok perlakuan tersebut adalah 5 serial konsentrasi yang diperoleh dari uji pendahuluan: 1000, 5000, 10.000, 15.000 dan 20.000 (mg/L), kontrol negatif (air) dan kontrol positif (temephos 100 mg/L). Hasil uji probit didapatkan  nilai LC50 dan LC90 sebesar 5493.390 dan 14988.861 (mg/L). Uji kruskal-Wallis didapatkan  nilai p=0,000, terdapat pengaruh ekstrak etanol daun binjai terhadap larva Aedes aegypti. Hasil uji Mann-whitney didapakan nilai  p=0,371, tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara konsentrasi 20.000 mg/L dengan kontrol positif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini ekstrak etanol daun binjai memiliki aktivitas larvasida dan efektivitas setara dengan temephos 100 mg/L terhadap larva Aedes aegypti. Kata-kata kunci :  Larvasida, daun binjai, Aedes aegypti

The lack of use the writing skills method raises several obstacles experienced by students, including weaknesses in understanding the basics of Arabic writing and difficulty in answering Arabic questions. Therefore, it is necessary to improve learning as an effort to improve writing skills by applying the imla’ manzur method. This research is an experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design model, aimed at finding out the effectiveness of the imla’ manzur method. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, tests, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Then the validity of the data is tested using the independent sample t-test. The results obtained were that in the experimental class the mastery of Arabic writing skills of students after applying the imla’ manzur method had increased the average value from 52.08 to 78.57. Then, the results of the independent sample t-test showed a significant difference in the mastery of Arabic writing skills in the experimental class and the control class 0.000 < 0.05 after treatment, so that the conclusion of this study based on the data obtained showed that the application of the imla’ manzur method was effective in improving students Arabic writing skills. Evidenced by a significant increase in learning outcomes, student enthusiasm when taking turns to write vocabulary and sentences in Arabic on the board, as well as growing sensitivity of student analysis of Arabic writing skills.

Hemorrhage occurs in most of the dental care. Untreated hemorrhage could cause excessive blood loss, hypotension, and cyanosis. A Natural resource that reported has an hemostatic effect is ethanol extract of betel leaves (Piper betel, Linn).The aim of this study is to find the minimum concentration of ethanol extract of betel leaves which capable of shortening the bleeding time in mice. The experimental study used pretest-posttest with control group design was conducted on 35 mice that divided into 7 group which are negative control, positive control (feracrylum 1%), the ethanol extract of betel leaves 1%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. All mice were injected heparin intravenously. Mice’s tail was cut at diameter 3 mm and pretest bleeding time was counted. Mice’s tail was recut at diameter 4 mm, given treatment for 5 seconds and posttest bleeding time was counted. Results of paired t-test showed that reduction of bleeding time between pretest and posttest was significant (p<0,050). The enhancement of ethanol extract of betel leaves concentration leads to better hemostatic effect. Results of ANOVA test showed that comparison of posttest bleeding time among groups was significant (p<0,050). The minimum concentration of ethanol extract of betel leaves which capable of shortening the bleeding time in mice is 5%.

Introduction: Campylobacter rectus and Provetella intermedia bacteria as the main etiology causes of periodontal disease. One of the locally synthesized antimicrobials that is widely used for the treatment of periodontitis is Chlorhexidine, however this drug has side effects when used continuously. To overcome this, an alternative periodontitis therapy with medicinal plants is needed. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of hydrogel Aloe vera antibacterial concentrations of 2.5%, 5%, 10% and 20% in the bacteria Campylobacter rectus and Provetella intermedia. Methods: This study was a laboratory experimental study with posttest only control group design in vitro. The samples were Campylobacter rectus and Provetella intermedia. The number of groups in this study was six. The sample size was determined by Federer's formula and obtained four replications for each group. Data collection by measuring the inhibition diameter using a slide caliper. Data were analyzed using oneway ANOVA and posthoc LSD. Results: The results showed that there was a difference in the diameter of the hydrogel Aloe vera inhibition with a concentration of 2.5%, 5%, 10%, 20% and a positive control for Campylobacter rectus and Provetella intermedia bacteria. Conclusion: This study concluded that there is an antibacterial effectiveness of hydrogel Aloe vera in concentrations of 2.5%, 5%, 10% and 20% on Campylobacter rectus and Provetella intermedia bacteria.

Filariasis is chronic infection disease caused by worm and carried by Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito. One of theways to controlling mosquitoes vectors are use biolarvacide or chemical insecticide. Chemical insecticide causingresistance Culex quinquefasciatus larvae and toxic for human. This research aim to determine the biolarvacideeffectiviteness of ethanol extract lampesu fruit (Baccaurea lanceolata) to Culex quinquefasciatus larvae instars III.This study was true experimental with a Post test-only control group design. This study used 700 larvae instars III ofCulex quinquefasciatus divided into 7 groups consentration of 0,2%, 0,4%, 0,6%, 0,8% and 1%, the positive control(abate) and negative control (aquadest). The observation was did after treatment in 3 hours, 6 hours, 12  hours and 24hours. The experiment is replicated four times. At 24 hours exposure concentration of 0,6% the test larvae mortalityreached 38% and at concentration of 1% the test larvae mortality reached 30%. In this stuy the concentration of1,531 % was effective to kill larvae with of 50% mortality(LC50) and concentration of 10,729 % was effective to killlarvae with of 90% mortality(LC90). Objectives: This study aim to determine sequence of Mozart songs in the analyzing differences in dendritic density of cerebellum and cerebellum of new born Rattus novergicusMaterials and Methods: Experimental study randomized post test only control group design using Rattus norvegicus. Animal subjects were divided into three groups which were control group, and the treatment group that were given exposure to default sequence and reversed sequence of Mozart's music from gestation day 10. We used a comparison test in the analysis expression of BDNF.Results: In the cerebrum there was a significant difference in the Mozart group in reverse rather than with Mozart standard sequence and in standard Mozart group with no exposure group, with p=0.003 and p=0.000. In the cerebellum there was a significant difference in the group in reverse rather than with standard Mozart and in the standard Mozart group with the control group, with p=0.000 and p=0.000. However, there was no significant difference between control group and Mozart group upside down in cerebrum and cerebellum with p=0.109 and p=0.077Conclusion: The density of dendrites in the cerebrum and cerebellum of Rattus norvegicus newborn exposed to Mozart's music during pregnancy with standard Mozart sequence was higher than that in those receiving reverse order and without exposure. There were no significant differences between the density of the cerebrum and cerebellum dendrites between groups exposed to reversed sequence of Mozart composition and those without exposure.

<p style="text-align: justify;">Abstract: The objective of this research is to analyze the effects of ethanol extract of black cumin seeds (Nigella Sativa) to the expression of ET-1 Aorta given to the preeclampsia model mouse. The research design utilizes experimental and the kind of design used is posttest only control group design. Mice preeclampsia model. This research is divided into 6 groups, namely: Negative control, Positive control, Model + extract of black cumin seeds 500 mg/KgBB/day, 1000 mg/KgBB/day, 1500 mg/KgBB/day, and 2000 mg/KgBB/day. After conducting the surgery to the mouse, an examination is done to the expression of ET-1 Aorta by using Immunohistochemistry method. one way anova Were used as statistical analysis. There was an effect of treatment of giving the ethanol extract black cumin seeds of ET-1 Aorta to the preeclampsia model mouse (p<0,05).these doses of 500 mg, 1000mg, 1500mg, and 2000mg, ethanol extract of black cumin seeds has ability to decrease the ET-1 Aorta in preeclampsia model mouse. dose of 1500mg/KgBB/day is the most optimum dosage to reduce when compared to another dosages. Penelitian ini dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok yaitu Kontrol negatif, kontrol positif(Model), Model+ekstrak biji jinten hitam 500 mg/KgBB/hari, 1000 mg/KgBB/hari, 1500 mg/KgBB/hari, dan 2000 mg/KgBB/hari, setelah dilakukan pembedahan pada mencit kemudian dilakukan pemeriksaan ekspresi ET-1 Aorta dengan metode Immunohistokimia. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan uji one way anova. Ada pengaruh pemberian ekstrak etanol biji jinten hitam terhadap ekspresi ET-1 Aorta pada mencit model preeklampsia (p<0,05). Dosis 500mg, 1000mg, 1500mg, dan 2000mg jinten hitam mempunyai kemampuan terhadap penurunan ekspresi ET-1 Aorta Dosis yang paling optimum menurunkan adalah dosis 2000mg/KgBB/hari dibanding dosis yang lain. Ekstrak etanol biji jinten hitam (Nigella Sativa) dapat menurunkan ekspresi ET-1 Aorta pada mencit model preeklampsia terutama pada dosis 2000mg/KgBB/hari. The use of standard antiplatelet therapy for cardiovascular disease patients has many side effects. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Propolis and Bee Pollen, two bee products, as antiplatelet and in comparison with Aspirin. This is an experimental study with posttest only control group design. The samples were 32 mice, divided into 4 groups: placebo, administration of aspirin (10.4 mg/kg-bw/day), Propolis (65 mg/kg-bw/day), and Bee Pollen (68 mg/kg-bw/day). The study was conducted for 12 days and the suspensions were given orally. The bleeding time was then measured using tail-bleeding technique. The data collected was bleeding time in seconds. All samples completed the study. The mean bleeding time for placebo, Aspirin, Propolis and Bee Pollen groups were 106.1, 442.9, 310.1, and 203 in seconds respectively. ANOVA and Bonferroni tests showed a significant difference between Propolis and placebo groups (p=0.003), no difference between Propolis and Aspirin groups (p=0.100), no difference between Bee Pollen and placebo groups (p=0.442), and a significant difference between Bee Pollen and Aspirin groups (p=0.000). Administration of Propolis in mice showed prolongation of bleeding time while Bee Pollen did not prove to have antiplatelet effects.

Abstract: The objective of this study is to compare the time of rigor mortis formed between the control group and the treated group. This was a true experimental study with a post –test only control group design. This study was conducted at RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Forensic Laboratory Manado from September to November 2015. This research begins with caring of the rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) weighting 1250 – 2100 g. were divided into two groups, control group and treated group. Treated group was exposed to diazinon 600 as many as 3 ml in one treatment. Data were analyzed by using univariat analysis, subsequently tested by using independent t-Test. The results showed that there was a significant difference (P <0.05) in the time of rigor mortis formed and disappeared between the two groups. Conclusion: The time of rigor mortis formed and then disappeared was shorter among rabbits with organopgosphate intoxication compared to the ones without intoxication. D. Kandou Manado pada bulan September – November 2015. Penelitian diawali dengan pemeliharaan kelinci (Oryctolagus Cuniculus ) dengan berat badan 1250 – 2100 g. Selanjutnya kelinci dibagi menjadi kelompok kontrol dan kelompok perlakuan, kelompok yang dilakukan pemaparan Diazinon 600 sebanyak 3 ml dalam satu kali pemberian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan bemakna (P < 0,05) waktu terbentuk rigor mortis, kaku, kaku sempurna, dan mulai melemas antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok perlakuan. Simpulan: Waktu terbentuk rigor mortis dan waktu mulai melemas lebih singkat pada kelinci dengan intoksikasi organofosfat dibandingkan yang tanpa intoksikasi. Disarankan penelitian lebih lanjut dengan menggunakan alat ukur untuk menilai rigor mortis.Kata kunci: rigor mortis, intoksikasi, organofosfat

INTISARI  Beberapa penelitian membuktikan ekstrak dan infus daun salam sebagai antidiare. Fraksinasi dapat menyederhanakan senyawa dalam ekstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas fraksi air ekstrak etanol daun salam (FAEEDS) sebagai protektor diare yang diinduksi castor oil, antimotilitas usus, dan mengetahui keberadaan flavonoid dan tanin didalamnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental menggunakan randomized matched posttest only control group design. FAEEDS dosis 1, 2, dan 3 g/kgBB diberikan pada mencit secara per oral. Kelompok kontrol positif yang digunakan adalah loperamid HCl 0,5 mg/kgBB dan PGA 3% 25 ml/kgBB diberikan pada kelompok kontrol negatif. Satu jam kemudian, mencit diberi  castor oil secara per oral. Banyaknya feses cair dan tidak terbentuk yang terbentuk selama 4 jam diamati. Pengujian aktivitas antimotilitas dilakukan dengan memberikan suspensi norit 10% 10 ml/kgBB 45 menit setelah pemberian castor oil. Satu jam kemudian dilakukan pengukuran panjang usus yang dilalui marker norit dan panjang usus seluruhnya. Data banyaknya feses yang cair dan tidak berbentuk serta data rasio panjang usus yang dilalui norit diuji perbedaannya dengan uji Mann-Whitney dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%. Keberadaan flavonoid dan tanin diketahui melalui kromatografi lapis tipis.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan FAEEDS beraktivitas sebagai protektor diare dan antimotilitas usus pada semua dosis. Flavonoid dan tanin terkandung dalam FAEEDS.  Kata kunci: fraksi air, daun salam, protektor diare, antimotilitas, castor oil, loperamid HCl  ABSTRACT  Some research proves extracts and infusion of salam leaf as antidiarrheal. Fractination can simplify the compounds in the extract. The aim of this research is to know the diarrhea protector activity of water fraction of ethanol extract of salam leaf (WFEESL), the antimotility activity, and to verify the persence of flavonoids and tannins in the fraction. The research was an experimental study using randomized matched posttest only control group design. WFEESL doses 1, 2, and 3 g/kgBW were given to mice orally. The positive control group was given loperamide HCl 0.5 mg/kgBW. One hour later, each mouse was given 1 ml of castor oil orally. Observations were made on the weight of liquid and unformed stools that formed during 4 hours of observation. Ten percent of carbo adsorbent suspensian 10 ml/kgBW was given orally as marker to the mice in the group of antimotilily activity 45 minutes after castor oil. The parameter which measure was the length of intestinal which passed by carbo adsorbent compared with the whole intestinal length. The data analyzed by Kruskal Wallis test, continued with Mann Withney test, with 95% of confidence level. The presence of flavonoids and tannins are known by thin layer chromatography. The results showed that WFEESL exhibits protective diarrhea and antimotility activity at all doses. Flavonoids and tannins are contained in WFEESL.  Keywords: water fraction, salam leaves, diarrhea protector, antimotility, castor oil, loperamide HCl
