An investigation has been performed as to the effect of a long-term parenteral introduction of the sum of water-soluble polysaccharides (WSPS) calamus root (Acorus calamus L.) extracted by means of the in-house technology on the functions of experimental animals. As it follows from the results of the experiments, the intragastric introduction of the WSPS to rats in the doses of 20, 100, and 200 mg/kg during a three-month term and the intravenous introduction to rabbits in the doses of 25 and 50 mg/kg during a one-month term do not lead to the death of the animals or to any pathological changes in their general condition, the dynamics of the general weight, or the functional activity of the investigated internal organs and systems.

The influence of the sum of water-soluble polysaccharides (WSPSs) extracted from sedge (Acorus calamus L.) rhizomes on the state of internal organs of rats and rabbits at a long parenteral administration has been studied. The intraperitoneal WSPS introduction to rats in doses of 20, 100, and 200 mg/kg of body mass for 3 months and the intravenous WSPS introduction to rabbits in doses of 25 and 50 mg/kg of body mass for 1 months caused no pathological changes in the morphology of internal organs and systems.

An investigation for a possible acute toxicity of the complex of water-soluble polysaccharides (WSPS) extracted from calamus root (Acorus calamus L.) has been performed. No toxic effect has been observed on the organisms of experimental animals after a twofold intragastric, subcutaneous, and intravenous introduction of the highest maximum dose of the WSPS being investigated. The results of the experiments did not allow detecting the average fatal dose (LD50) of the WSPS being investigated as no deaths among the experimental animals had been observed. The obtained data lead to the conclusion that the WSPS of calamus root are to be added to Substance Hazard Class IV (low hazard substances) in compliance with State Standard GOST 12.1.007-76.

The experiment with the chronic effects of alcohol on experimental animals reflects the picture of long-term use of alcoholic beverages by a person with alcoholism. It is impossible to fully study the ultrastructural changes in internal organs, including the reproductive system, in humans, both in acute and chronic alcohol consumption, but the results obtained in the experiment can be extrapolated to humans. The results obtained showed that changes in the parenchymal-stromal elements of the testicles during chronic alcoholization are reduced to dystrophic transformation of the spermatogenic epithelium. The testicular stroma is characterized by pronounced circulatory disorders with plethora and stasis in the postcapillaries and small veins, edema, phenomena of perivascular and interstitial sclerosis, with foci of pronounced hyalinosis, most expressed by 2-3 months of alcoholism. By 6 months of the model experiment, there was no dynamics of the growth of morphological changes, partial adaptation to constant intoxication with ethyl alcohol.

The present study was carried out to investigate the effect of oral administration of hot aqueous extract of beetle cocoon Larinus maculatus Faldermann, in a two doses 50and100mg/Kg/Bw for 25 and 45days respect- tively on some organs such as liver, lung, kidney, intestine, heart, spleen, and brain in male mice Mus musculus. The results indicated that there were toxicopathological changes in many tissues of experimental animals. Histo -pathological changes was dose and period dependent . It was found that the aqueous extract of beetle cocoon has undesirable effect at the administered doses, since the raw extract of this cocoon is currently being used in Folk medicine as treatment for cough, bronchitis in Iraq. This study revealed that the low doses of this extract have some deleterious effects on certain organs, so it should not be used for long durations in control of respiratory disease.

The results of study, in which we examined the influence of nanosized magnetite on breath organs histological structure and contractility activity of the airways of guinea pigs by method of mechanography has been presented. In the lungs of experimental animals an inflammatory response developed as a result of long-term inhalation intake of nanosized magnetite. Also the functional status of the airways changed and appeared as changing of amplitude of contractility response under the action of histamine.

In experimental studies on rats (males, females) at their infantile stage starting from 10 days, a potential delayed toxic effect of the antiviral drug Kagocel on the reproductive system was studied. The drug was administered for 12 days in a therapeutic dose and at a dose 10-fold higher than the therapeutic one. Reproductive safety was estimated after animals reached the reproductive age (2.5 months). It was found out that the drug, when administered in both doses, does not decrease the fertility of animals, does not induce morphological and pathological changes in the sex glands, and does not have toxic effect on the offspring. Obtained data characterize Kagocel as a preparation with a wide reproductive safety profile and show that it can be used in pediatric practice for infants.

The objective was to study the effects of sugar cane molasses addition on the fermentation quality and tastes of alfalfa silage. Fresh alfalfa was ensiled with no additive (Control), 1% molasses (M1), 2% molasses (M2), and 3% molasses (M3) for 206 days. The chemical composition and fermentation characteristics of the alfalfa silages were determined, the microbial communities were described by 16S rRNA sequencing, and the tastes were evaluated using an electronic tongue sensing system. With the amount of added molasses (M), most nutrition (dry matter and crude protein) was preserved and water-soluble carbohydrates (WSC) were sufficiently used to promote the fermentation, resulting in a pH reduction from 5.16 to 4.48. The lactic acid (LA) content and LA/acetic acid (AA) significantly increased, indicating that the fermentation had turned to homofermentation. After ensiling, Enterococcus and Lactobacillus were the dominant genus in all treatments and the undesirable microbes were inhibited, resulting in lower propionic acid (PA), butyric acid (BA), and NH3-N production. In addition, bitterness, astringency, and sourness reflected tastes of alfalfa silage, while umami and sourness changed with the amount of added molasses. Therefore, molasses additive had improved the fermentation quality and tastes of alfalfa silage, and the M3 group obtained the ideal pH value (below 4.5) and the best condition for long-term preservation.

Extremely small-sized superparamagnetic magnetite nanoparticles of 3Cit). The resulting Cit-coated magnetite nanoparticles exhibited long-term colloidal stability in aqueous media without any surface modification. Regarding the magnetic properties, the nanoparticles were superparamagnetic at room temperature, and might be the potential candidate for MRI contrast agents.
