The environmental education course currently does not integrate problem-solving problem skills. The purpose of this study was analyzing the results of applying integration on problem-based learning with the RMS (reading, mind mapping, and sharing) learning model. The research method was a quasi-experimental with pre-test-post-test control group design. The study was conducted on 56 students who took an environmental education course in Natural Science Education Universitas Tidar. Data analysis used an Anacova test with a pretest as its covariate. The study results stated that 1) developed learning model integrates PBL with RMS learning model consisting of identifying problems, finding relevant information about problems through reading activities, analyzing problem: group discussion through mind mapping, providing solutions, and sharing results of mind mapping. 2) The integration of PBL with the RMS learning model indicated by an average score of post-test in the integration of PBL with the RMS learning model class of 68.46, and the traditional class of 48.92. 3) the learning process that occurs in the integration of PBL with the RMS learning model class shows that learning is run well, which is indicated by students' average evaluation score of the lecturer learning process. The integration of PBL and RMS model can be utilized by teachers and lecturers in Biology learning to have thinking skills and solve daily problems.

The purpose of this research are: 1) to know the learning activity of learners mathematics which is taught by Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS), and 2) model to know the ability of problem solving of mathematics learners who taught by SSCS learning model in the class XI MIA MAN 1 Muara Labuh academic year 2016/2017. This research belongs to a kind of quasi-experimental research with randomized control group only design. In this study design, a group of subjects taken from a particular population were randomly assigned into two groups, the experimental group and the control group. After analyzing the data, it is known that the learning activity of the students after applying the SSCS learning model has improved towards the better from the first meeting to the fifth meeting, ie 35%, 45%, 55%, 68%, 77%. Based on the hypothesis test obtained ttable = 1.645 and tcount = 2.598 so obtained (2.598> 1.645) at 95% confidence interval. Because tcount > ttable then hypothesis in this research accepted. Thus, students 'math-problem-solving skills taught by SSCS learning models are higher than the students' uneducated mathematical problem-solving skills with SSCS learning modelsKeywords: Problem solving abilities, search, solve, sreate and share (SSCS) learning models

In this research the effects of STEM applications, which are aimed to support the integrated teaching knowledge of pre-service science teachers on the problem solving skills of pre-service science teachers were examined. The research was carried out in scope of the mixed method design of convergent parallel design. The research was conducted with pre-service science teachers of experimental group (n=31) and control group (n=31) who were studying at Fırat University. STEM applications including Algodoo were carried out with the pre-service teachers in the experimental group for one term. The data of the research were collected through the problem solving inventory test (PSIT), prospects diaries during the process of the pre-service science teachers in the experiment group. Quantitative data were analyzed using unpaired samples t-test. Statistically significant differences were found in favor of the experimental group when the PSIT post-test scores of the pre-service teachers in the experimental and control groups were analyzed. They said that STEM education is necessary and important for them, much better products arise as a result of gathering different disciplines, but integration of four disciplines is not easy.

This research aims to improve senior high school students’ physics problem-solving skills through learning used IBMR learning model. This research was a pre-an experimental study with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The Methods of data collection used validation and test. The materials used to teach were valid category by two experts and can be used to practice physics problem-solving skills. The average post-test score physics problem-solving ability was 73.24 with an N-gain of 0.59 was classified as moderate. The success of IBMR learning model-based devices in practicing problem-solving abilities can be seen in the increase in the average score in each indicator of problem-solving abilities. The indicator of understanding the problem had the highest post-test average score of 94.58 with an N-gain of 0.89 in the high category. The problem-solving indicator had the lowest posttest average score was 58.22 with N-gain 0.39 and mean that it was the moderate category. Based on the results study, it can be concluded that the learning used by IBMR learning model can practice the ability to solve physics problems on heat material and its displacement. Learning with the IBMR learning model was expected to train students in solving physics problems. The stages in the IBMR learning model can help students

This study aims to analyze the effect of the TASC learning model on students' ability to solve problems in natural resource management material. This study uses an experimental method with the design of Non-equivalent Pretest-Postest Control Group Design. The results of this study indicate that the TASC learning model has an effect on students' problem solving abilities in natural resource management materials, where experimental class students who use the TASC learning model have better problem solving skills than the control class that uses the class discussion model. in natural resource management material. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it was concluded that there were significant differences between students learning using the TASC learning model (Active Thinking in Social Context) with students learning to use cooperative type class discussion learning models to solve problems.

This research is motivated by the learning process carried out in class V of SD Negeri 8 Metro Timur, SD Negeri 1 Metro Barat, SD Negeri 1 Metro Utara dan SD Negeri 5 Metro Pusat. The implementation of the learning process carried out by teachers who generally still use conventional learning methods and models that are only fixated on books and more teacher-centered, students listen to explanations from the teacher, take notes, memorize information and work on problems. practice questions rather than doing practical activities through experiments or experiments. As a result, the learning process becomes less attractive and seems monotonous because students tend to be passive and less participatory in learning activities. Teachers lack innovation in the use of active and innovative methods or learning models that are more student centered. That is, learning that provides more opportunities for students to construct independently the process of understanding material through a more active learning process through search activities and problem solving. In response to this, researchers conduct learning using a project based learning learning model with the aim of improving students' science process skills and scientific literacy skills. The purpose of this study was to describe the influence of the PjBL model on process skills and scientific literacy skills. The type of this study is quasi-experimental research using the design of nonequivalent groups pre test-post test from Fraenkel and Wallen. The design of nonequivalent groups pre test - post test was started by setting the experimental group and the control group, then doing the pre test, followed by giving treatment to the two classes and ending with a post test. The subjects in this study were fifth grade elementary school students in Metro City. Data collection techniques in the form of tests. The research instrument is a spatial literacy test sheet. Data were analyzed using normality test and Mann Whitney test. The results of this study indicate that the PjBL model can improve science process skills and higher scientific literacy skills compared to groups of students who get conventional learning. This study aimed to determine STEM practices assisted by argumentation-based learning, the attitudes and the opinions of the students towards STEM, their perception of problem-solving skills and the argumentation qualifications. In the research, the mixed design has been implemented. The quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test control group has been conducted in the quantitative dimension. The research group consists of 55 students—studying at a state school affiliated to Mus Provincial Directorate of National Education. In the study, the qualitative data were collected using ‘STEM attitude scale’ and ‘problem solving skill perception scale’; and the quantitative data were obtained using ‘STEM interview form’ and ‘Written Argumentation Form’. The results show STEM practices have been observed to be effective in improving the attitudes of the students towards STEM and their problem-solving skills. Also, the opinions of the students are positive and the argumentation qualities of the students are at the first level during the practices. Keywords: STEM, argumentation, problem solving, attitude

This study is an experimental study that aims to knows the influence of participative learning model used problem solving methode towards learning physics achievement of studens in SMPN 3 Batukliang. Research design using pre-test - post-test control group design. Sampling using random cluster sampling, the students of class VIII-A as the experimental group and the students of class VIII-B as a control group. The learning physics achievement data of students were analyzed using t-test formula two parties polled variance. At the significant level of 5% and dk of 53 obtained that ttest is less than ttable (1.66< 2.007). Because  that ttest is less than ttable  therefore H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected. Therefore, it can be  concluded that the participative learning model used problem solving methode is not influential significantly towards learning physics achievement of studens in SMPN 3 Batukliang.

This study investigates the effect of the use of teachers’ Lecture models combined with cooperative learning methods to improve students’ problem-solving skills in physics compare with the control group who were not exposed to the lecture model combined with cooperative learning methods from effect size value. The research method was a quasi-experimental research. The sample consisted of 33 students of 10th grade in middle schools (senior high school), SMAN 1 Sungai Penuh, Jambi Province where they ware learn at work and energy concept. Students' achievements, as well as their problem-solving skills of work and energy concept were assessed by pretest-posttest with an essay test. The results showed that the experimental group’s learning process has a high effect size value to problem-solving skills more than control group learning process. That shows the lecture model combined with cooperative learning method more effective than lecture model.

Nowadays, most children play digital games. Digital games, despite their advantages, have gradually eroded the existence of traditional games. Although both digital and traditional games comprise the values of problem-solving learning for children, traditional games offer more benefits in terms of the embodiment of local wisdom. This study aimed at encompassing the influence of Javanese traditional games such as bekelan, congklak lidi, and selentikan on the improvement of children’s problem-solving skills. This research was done employing quasi-experimental design involving 72 school-age children ranging from 9 to 11 years old, who studied at primary schools. The subjects of this study consisted of four experimental groups. Three groups played bekelan, congklak lidi, selentikan games respectively and the other group was assigned as the control group. The treatment was done for three weeks divided into six sessions. The findings showed that there was a significant improvement between the result of the pre-test and that of the post-test for these three games. The analysis results using One Way ANOVA showed that there was a difference in the improvement of problem-solving skills among groups (F(17) = 5.032, p < .01). Due to its superiority, Javanese traditional games are potential to be an alternative media in improving children’s problem-solving skills.

This study aims to determine how the effect of the Quantum Learning model using Mind Mapping techniques to students' creative thinking abilities. The type of research used is experiment and quantitative approach with research design using posttest only group design. Data analysis of two groups used the t-test on SPSS 21, that is Independent Sample t-Test to test the difference in average posttest value of two samples.The results of this study are (1) results of the t-test  from post-test data obtain a significance 0,000 where it is lower than 0.05 so can be said that the average of the two groups are different, (2) from the post-test results, the answers given by students from the experimental group more fulfilled the indicators of creative thinking than students from the control group.
