Abstract The study aims to evaluate of english learning at the Junior High School 3, Samaturu Kolaka. The method used is evaluative through the flow of the gap model (discrepancy evaluation model). Data collection through interviews, document tracing, and observation. Key Informant is the principal, teacher, and student. The results showed that: (1). The ten indicators of the principles in the preparation of lesson plan is only a contemporary-oriented indicator that is not contained in the lesson plan. This is because lesson plan is based on teaching materials and teaching materials. In addition, the lesson plan does not promote social, spiritual attitudes and only focus on English language teaching materials. Because of social and spiritual attitudes are hidden curriculum and can be applied to all subjects. Even the development of character is a program of Junior High School 3, Samaturu Kolaka. (2). All step-by-step indicators in lesson plan preparation are already loaded inside the lesson plan. But there is still an unprecedented indicator such as determining a monotonous learning strategy and not self-evaluation for the teacher to improve the strategy, and its teaching method. (3). Several indicators of lesson plan implementation have been carried out well in the classroom even though it is not maximized. This is due to preliminary activities, the teacher does not explain the importance of the material to be studied and competencies that students must master. The conclusion is related to the principles, application of steps and implementation of lesson plan in the classroom, although not maximized, but has been referring to Permendikbud no. 103 year 2014 about learning on primary education and secondary education.   Keywords: Evaluation, Lesson Plan, English Learning

The advancement of digital technology has a great influence on the development of many areas of modern life. Over recent years, e-learning systems have managed to gain a competitive edge over the more traditional methods of learning. The learning and teaching techniques employed by e-learning systems allow more flexibility and provide freedom from the restrictions of time, location, physical presence and other aspects of traditional learning. Nevertheless, e-learning does have its own drawbacks, and research into the barriers to learning will assist in overcoming some of the problems associated with e-learning success. This study attempts to determine the obstacles that can influence the success of ICT within institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This qualitative research examined the obstacles of the use of ICT in the education process from learner’s perspectives and the potential solutions that can help to reduce these obstacles. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with seven e-learning students from one Saudi University. Purposive sample techniques were used with participants, and the results revealed that there were many barriers that hindered learners from benefitting from the use of ICT in education. These obstacles included lack of technical support, technical issues, lack of English language, lack of design e-course materials, and lack of motivation. In addition, a number of solutions were considered in this study.

Research activities is common for a lecturer because it is a compoulsary term. Research in English Language or English learning is a scientific activity that aims at investigating the rules that work in the process of English learning. Research activities in English learning cover four steps: observing, describing, analyzing, and explaining. The way of each step is done depends on the nature of the data and the objective of the research. Classroom Action Research (CAR) for English Learning aims at developing a certain instructional strategy to solve practical instructional problems in English classrooms. Each English learner is basically able to learn English provided that he or she is given the appropriate help as each learner has his or her own style and strategy of learning. CAR for English Learning aims at discovering learning-teaching strategies that match learners’ style and strategies in learning English. CAR is done in several cyles each of which is repeated in the following cycle if the result is not satisfactory yet with the better revised lesson plan. Each cycle begins with lesson planning, implementing the plan, observing the implementation, and reflecing or evaluating the process and the result of the implementation. English as a second language (ESL) learning among hearing-impaired individuals is a unique area that has not been widely investigated in Southern Philippines, where Special Education (SPED) Program is still emerging. To fill in this gap, this qualitative study dealt with the communication approaches of hearing-impaired students to learn English. The participants were six students and one SPED teacher. Semi-structured interviews and non-participant observation were employed to determine the participants’ communication approaches and challenges in expressing themselves using the target language. Findings disclosed that all participants used sign language based on Manually Coded System and fingerspelling while only the teacher communicated with the aid of speech and visuals. Students’ and teacher’s challenges in English learning and teaching, respectively, were students’ problematic retention, apprehensive behavior during class evaluations, and slow comprehension. This paper has its limitation for other variables that could make the study more relevant were not focused such as the hearing-impaired students’ medical backgrounds, writing skills, and communicative resources available at home. Hence, it is imperative that further studies be done to shed better light on hearing-impaired students’ English language learning.
