The Community Learning Center (CLC) as an educational institution to implement Package A Program is assigned to produce the graduates having equivalent competence as Junior High School does. Besides, the learners are also expected to be able to meet their needs and solve their problems. CLC has to develop the existing curriculum to complete its tasks as expected. This research is intended to know the curriculum at CLC of Tunas Bangsa, Probolinggo District, East Java, and how it develops and implements the curriculum. The research conducted as from April through July 2010, reviewed the existing curriculum using qualitative method and then developed the curriculum on the basis of local needs and potentials. The result of the study is an integrated curriculum to be used by tutors and will encourage them to improve theircompetence.

ABSTRACT Environmental care character for students is important to be formed, because the environment will affect the existence and benefit of humans. The character Building is through character education at school. Islamic junior high school Diniyyah Al-Azhar Muara Bungo is an educational institution that seeks to familiarize students with caring for the environment. The purpose of this research is to explain students environmental care character building at Islamic Junior High School Diniyyah Al-Azhar Muara Bungo. This study uses a qualitative method. The research informants were selected by purposive sampling and numbered 14 people. Technique of checking the validity of data by data triangulation. Data analysis techniques with interactive models Miles and Huberman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1.) Mengkaji implementasi manajemen strategik peningkatan mutu lembaga pendidikan Muhammadiyah di SMP Al-Mujahidin dan SMP Muhammadiyah Semin Kabupaten Gunungkidul; dan 2.) Menemukan formulasi alternatif manajemen strategik lembaga pendidikan Muhammadiyah dalam meningkatkan mutu sekolah di Kabupaten Gunungkidul. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian studi kasus yang bersifat kualitatif, dengan mengunakan metode observasi, interview dan dokumentasi terhadap dua lembaga pendidikan Muhammadiyah. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teori Miles dan Huberman dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi manajemen strategik yang dilakukan oleh SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Mujahidin dan SMP Muhammadiyah Semin melibatkan semua stakeholder. Sekolah terlebih dahulu merumuskan visi misi sekolah dengan mempertimbangkan faktor internal dan eksternal lingkungan sekolah, dilanjutkan merumuskan tujuan dan target mutu sekolah diikuti dengan penentuan strategi yang akan digunakan oleh sekolah demi terealisasinya semua target mutu yang disepakati. Implementasi strategi yang dilakukan SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Mujahidin dan SMP Muhammadiyah Semin dalam meningkatkan mutu sekolah adalah dengan menjabarkan dan melaksanakan semua strategi yang telah dirumuskan dalam bentuk kegiatan-kegiatan terprogram dan terukur. Evaluasi strategi yang digunakan SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Mujahidin dan SMP Muhammadiyah Semin adalah melalui rapat formal maupun informal. AbstractThe objective of the present study is to: 1.) Review the implementation of strategic management for the improvement of the Muhammadiyah educational institution quality in the context of Al-Mujahidin Junior High School and Muhammadiyah Junior High School Semin, the Regency of Gunungkidul; and 2.) Identify the alternative formula for the implementation of the strategic management within the Muhammadiyah educational institution quality toward the improvement of the school quality in the Regency of Gunungkidul. The nature of the study is qualitative research using observation, interview, and documentation with two Muhammadiyah educational institutions as the objects of the study. Throughout the data analysis, the technique that has been implemented is the data analysis technique proposed by Miles & Huberman under the following sequence: (1) data reduction; (2) data presentation; and (3) conclusions. The results of the study show that the implementation of strategic management by the Al-Mujahidin Junior High School and the Muhammadiyah Junior High School Semin has involved all stakeholders. The two Muhammadiyah educational institutions formulate the school vision and the school mission in the very first place with considerations toward the internal factors and the external factors of the school environment. Then, the two Muhammadiyah educational institutions proceed to the formulation of the objectives and the targets for the school quality followed by the definition of the school strategy in achieving all of the quality targets that have been formulated. Furthermore, the strategic management by the Al-Mujahidin Junior High School and the Muhammadiyah Junior High School Semin in improving the school quality is elaborating and implementing all strategies that have been formulated in the form of programmed and measured activities. The strategies will be evaluated by the Al-Mujahidin Junior High School and the Muhammadiyah Junior High School Semin through the mechanism of both formal and informal meetings.

This thesis examines the Implementation of Pluralist Education at SMP Al-Azhar Mandiri Palu. The school opens for learning opportunities for every student across religions, ethnicities, races and cultures. This school aims to educate all children of the nation, both Muslim and non-Muslim. The research used qualitative method with phenomenological approach. The data were collected through various instruments: observation, interviews and documentation. The sample are a non-Muslim Educator, seven Muslim educators, two Muslim students and six non-Muslim students. Based on the category, all samples played an active role in the application of pluralist education at Al-Azhar Mandiri Junior High School. This study found that pluralist education had been carried out since 1992, with a reference to the school motto of Smart and Moral. It motivates students to be smart but not being arrogant. Non-Muslim students remain in class when Islamic studies take place, and the teacher does not object. The application of Pluralist Education to the students is carried out in the form of growing tasamuh attitude (tolerance), building cooperation in group study and constructing a non-discriminative action based on SARA as well as mutual respect between fellow students.

This writing aims to find out about the role of students in creating superior and moral graduates. This research was conducted at Alhuda Islamic Junior High School in Lamongan Regency with uses a qualitative method. The technique of collecting data on this writing is done by means of interviews and observations. The result of the research is by screening students to be able to create superior and moral graduates. The role of students is by screening students who will register at the school. Of course, prioritizing the ability of students who later can provide guidance or coaching to be able to produce quality graduates. Then in realizing excellent and moral graduates, the role of students at Alhuda Islamic Junior High School is by increasing the development of Intra School Organization (OSIS). The goal is none other than introducing students to organize, direct and control student activities. As well as fostering and implementing coordination of security, health, cleanliness, order, shade, beauty and kinship.

This study aims to describe the sociomatematical norms that are owned by students when learning mathematics in class. The subjects of this study were students of class VII-A Jakarta 113 Junior High School. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. This research uses sociomatematical norms questionnaire and interview. Based on the results of the study, there were 9 students who had very good sociomatematical norms categories with a total percentage of indicators of 81% and there were 14 students who had good sociomatematical norms categories with a total percentage of indicators of 72%. The results showed that very good sociomatematical norms owned by students would affect the high results obtained by students in mathematics learning and good sociomatematical norms would affect the moderate and low results obtained by students in learning mathematics.

English is an International language that is used as an instrument to communicate. As a foreign language it is quite normal if  English difficult to learn, because the way to write and read or speak English language is dissimilar whereas  in Indonesian language the way to read or speak and write it is the same. Same as student in one of Junior High school in Lembang, some of them do not want to speak English language especially in from of the class. The author guest one of the factor students do not want to speak English is limitation vocabulary. In this article the author try to know is it true that limitation vocabulary is one of factor student do not want to speak English ? To answer that question, the author use qualitative method through questionnaire and interview for second grade student. The result finding that many factor student do not want to speak English one of them is limitation vocabulary, the student said that is no easy to memorize a lot of vocabulary, when they memorize it the feel bored. To make the student do not feel bored the author  suggest to use some games in the class to make the student more attractive. Keywords:  Vocabulary, Factor, Speaking

Futsal is a game that is almost the same as football in general, but some basic techniques are different from football, especially for the young player. They need a fun game and it is easy to understand without written theory. This study aimed to know the needs analysis of the games-based model of futsal skill exercise for Junior High School student. The method used a descriptive qualitative method. The process of collecting data used observation, interview, and questionnaires. The result of the analysis shows that there is no standard guide and less variation of games in futsal playing. The exercise is still conventional. Students need basic techniques to play futsal through the principles of exercise using a variety of games and the correctness of good motion.

Islamic education is a compulsory subject in every educational institution. Students are expected do not only know theory of religion but they also understand, feel, and implement theory of religion. Therefore, evaluation instrument of affective domain for Islamic education subject need to be developed and taken care since there has not been any evaluation instrument yet which is particularly developed for Islamic education subject. So this research aim at developing evaluation instrument of affective domain for Islamic education subject that fulfill validity and reliability requirement. Population of research object is evaluation instrument of affective domain assessment and population of research subjects are Junior High School students in Samarinda. Sample of this research is taken by using stratified proportional random sampling technique. Referring to the instrument construction, the use of revised GBPP of Islamic education subject for Junior High School is considered as the correct option. Data collection was done by using questionnaire technique. Data was analyzed by using Iteman analysis technique to find out degree of validity and reliability. Data analysis result reveals Likert method questionnaire, from the test of construct validity shows cumulative variant value 90.4% or it can show 94% of theory construct which has been stated. Reliability coefficient obtained is 0.914 with 0.124 SEM value which indicate very good quality of affective domain instrument. The use of sentences in constructing Likert method instrument assisted respondents to respond the instrument well. In Likert method, constructing questionnaire takes long sentences so that the respondents feel tired to read those statements. Likert method require sequence of words to formulate a good and objective statement. The implementation is that in Islamic education subject require efforts to take the decision.

ABSTRACTThis research is based on student collaboration activities and the ability of students to develop ideas in writing advertising sentences. The formulation of the problem in this study is (1) How is the collaborative activity in learning Indonesian at Cibinong 3 Public Junior High School Bogor? (2) What is the result of the ability of students to develop ideas in writing advertising sentences in learning Indonesian at Cibinong 3 Public Junior High School Bogor? This study aims to describe: (1) collaborative activities on learning Indonesian at Bogor Cibinong 3 Junior High School (2) the results of students' ability to develop ideas in writing advertising sentences in Indonesian language learning at Bogor Cibinong 3 Junior High School. The method used in this research is the qualitative method. The results of this study in the form of collaborative activities on learning Indonesian at SMPN 3 Cibinong Bogor are as follows. a) identifying sentences of facts and opinions on products, b) giving ideas about sentences of facts and opinions, c) giving opportunities (taking turns, giving ideas about sentences of facts and opinions), d) discussing the answers of his group friends, e) utilizing time effectively, f) conveying ideas of facts and opinions in accordance with the product, and g) confirming the ideas of sentence facts and opinions recorded to group friends. The results of students' ability to develop ideas in writing ad sentences on learning Indonesian at Bogor Cibinong 3 Junior High School are good. This is based on data on the results of student skills, there are 32 data facts or correct sentences of 82.05% and 34 correct opinion sentence data or equal to 87.18%.Keywords: collaboration activities, advertising sentences, facts, opinions

This research was intended to find out the students’ responses toward the implementation of crossword puzzle techniques in teaching vocabulary to the seventh-grade students at Junior High School. A descriptive qualitative method was used in this study. In collecting data the researcher used two instruments: classroom observation throughout the implementation of crossword puzzle in the classroom and from students’ interviews.  The researcher chose class VII B as respondents which consisted of 35 students. From the result, the researcher concluded that teaching-learning vocabulary by using crossword puzzle made the students’ easy to memorize the vocabulary and made the students’ more active in the class and the result also showed good responses from students, most of students felt interest and  like to learn vocabulary in a descriptive text by using crossword puzzle.
