The diversity of ethnicities, races, and religions is a reality in the life of the nation and state, although it is undeniable that there is a potential for conflict. This study aimed to explain the pattern of religious harmony in West Sumatra within the framework of regional autonomy which is adopted from the cultural system and local wisdom. This study used a phenomenological approach to provide accurate conditions of multi-ethnic, cultural, and religious communities. The results showed that the pattern of religious harmony through the resolution of religious conflicts in several regions in West Sumatra was carried out through the alignment of regional autonomy with local customs and culture. Forms of alignment include alignment of school uniforms, equal distribution of sacrificial meat, the presence of <em>baralek</em>, the tradition of <em>manyiriah</em>, interfaith graves between Muslims and Christians, and the application of customary philosophies. This study contributes to the theory of a cultural approach based on local wisdom in resolving religious conflicts and strengthening social integration of the community.

<span lang="EN-ID"><em>Religious intolerance in West Sumatra in 2014-2015 experienced an increase which was affected by the rejection of facilities that would be built by investors of different religions with the majority of religious communities. Religious intolerance is an indicator of the low attitude of religious tolerance in society. The phenomenon of racism and theological nuances in Indonesia seems to strengthen the suspicion that religion is the cause of conflict, triggers of violence, and a variety of behaviors that sometimes generate not only hatred, but also hostility, and fierce warfare among humans. However, the case does not cause conflict diversity in this region because of the solutions made for each of these issues. At this time, religious themes have been developed by the community, where people are not easy to accept the religion of Islam that has just been developed by the stranded Arabian sword. After Islam became the official religion of the Minangkabau people in West Sumatra, in general, in West Sumatra, the issue of faith became the part that received attention; the effect of religion meant how to respond to the arrival or emergence of movements outside of the majority religion. This paper describes the solutions made to reduce these issues so as not to cause religious conflict.</em></span>

AbstractSocial Institution Bina Grahita Harapan Ibu (PSBGHI) is the only social institution in West Sumatra Province who provide social services and rehabilitation for people with mental disabilities. Persons with disabilities who are in the shelter are from various districts / cities in West Sumatra which amounted to 100 people. This orphanage is located in Kalumbuk, Padang City with an area of 5,007 m2. Since the implementation of regional autonomy, PSBGHI employees totaling 44 people either civil servants and honorarium received minimally training, seminars, even a refresher material. Partners in this IbM classified into 2 groups: 1) group of civil power as many as 24 people, with educational background is not a disability, and 2) a group of honorary staff of 20 people. Problems formulated partners namely the lack of knowledge about reproduction and sexuality in the development of persons with disabilities, reproductive problems / sexuality of persons with disabilities, and to tackle the problem. Results showed an increase understanding of sexuality and handling of sexuality problems encountered in children with disabilities. Therefore, the provision of material and playback video in the form of seminar is one alternative that can be given.Keywords : disability, seminars, PSBGHIAbstrakPanti Sosial Bina Grahita Harapan Ibu (PSBGHI) merupakan satu-satunya panti sosial di Propinsi Sumatera Barat yang memberikan pelayanan dan rehabilitasi sosial bagi penyandang cacat mental (disabilitas). Penyandang disabilitas yang terdapat di panti ini berasal dari berbagai kabupaten/kota di Propinsi Sumatera Barat yang berjumlah 100 orang. Panti ini berlokasi di Kalumbuk, Kota Padang dengan luas area 5.007 m2. Semenjak pemberlakuan otonomi daerah, pegawai PSBGHI yang berjumlah 44 orang baik PNs maupun honor sangat minim sekali memperoleh pelatihan, seminar, bahkan penyegaran materi. Mitra pada IbM ini diklasifikasikan atas 2 kelompok yaitu 1) kelompok tenaga PNS sebanyak 24 orang, dengan latar pendidikan bukan disabilitas, dan 2) kelompok tenaga honorer sebanyak 20 orang. Permasalahan mitra yang dirumuskan yaitu minimnya wawasan tentang perkembangan reproduksi dan seksualitas pada penyandang disabilitas, permasalahan reproduksi/seksualitas penyandang disabilitas, dan penanganan permasalahannya. Hasil menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pemahaman tentang perkembangan seksualitas dan upaya penanganan permasalahan yang ditemui pada anak penyandang disabilitas. Oleh karena itu pemberian materi dan pemutaran video dalam bentuk seminar merupakan salah satu alternatif yang dapat diberikan.Kata kunci : disabilitas, seminar, PSBGHI

The world today is becoming more violent than ever before. Sometimes, the violence can be political, ethnic, economic and or religious. In most cases, distinguishing the main cause of such violence from other causes might be difficult. The factors could be a combination of two issues viz: ethnoreligious conflicts or politico-religious conflicts. The religious experience in Nigeria today, as a multi-religious society so far has proven contrary to the general belief and the widespread expectation of people about religion as an institution that promotes social integration. Christian-Muslim relations in Nigeria today (though being the dominant religions in Nigeria) is standing on shaky ground. The relationship is highly characterized by mutual suspicion, mistrust and distrust. In understanding this characterized reality in their interactions, this work interrogated the ambivalence roles played by religious leaders in Nigeria. And in doing this, the ethnographic research method was adopted. As part of its findings, it was discovered that there is a high level of intolerance among Christians and Muslims in Nigeria occasioned by unguarded utterances and abuse of freedom of speech by many uncensored religious leaders. Thus, setting the stage for avoidable and constant religious confrontations among the adherents of the two religious communities in Nigeria. The study recommends that peaceful co-existence can be possible if the government is responsible and responsive enough to address the basic needs of her masses which would reduce largely the manipulation of religion by clerics for personal gain. Furthermore, the place of meaningful dialogue should be embraced by religious leaders across different religious divides. AbstractOne of the most violent conflicts of the post-Suharto era took place in the Moluccas, Eastern Indonesia, from 1999 until 2003. Due to a strategic mobilisation process, it was mainly fought out between Christians and Muslims. After the conflict, local actors in the Moluccas hoped to build up sustainable peace through the revival of traditions that are supposed to overcome religious differences and enable harmonious living together. Taking up these local voices or voices that claim to be local, this paper wants to discuss the option of a cultural approach to conflict solution and to reflect on the reconciliatory potential of the revival of tradition. The prominent village alliance system in the Central Moluccas called pela serves as an example how 'traditional' mechanisms were used in order to foster reconciliation. This paper also analyses challenges and problems of the revival-reconciliation interplay in order to reveal both the integrative, as well as the exclusivist, character of revived traditions that are supposed to overcome religious differences.

The continuous rise of religious conflicts at different parts of the world has left so many questions unanswered and so many issues  unresolved. The quest for supremacy, wealth, relevance and dominance are some of the major causes of religious conflict. Even within religions, there is constant news of conflicts of different kinds, which, unfortunately contrasts with the notion that religion qua religion is one (Madu, 2003). This has also attracted mostly negative attributes to conflict. However, some scholars have taken a different look at the positive side of this negative act - conflict. One of such scholars was Georg Simmel, a German philosopher and sociologist. This work, therefore aims at discussing the scholar Georg Simmel, his ideas and views about conflict in respect to the study of religious conflicts. This work explains how Georg Simmel presented conflict, a negative phenomenon as having some positive outcomes. Seeing religion as a fundamental process in man’s life and conflict as a dark tunnel the leads to a bright end of the tunnel, Georg Simmel presents conflict as  what the writer terms “a negative beginning with a positive end”. To this end, this work shifts ground towards discussing how these bad sides of religious conflicts will be used to achieve something good. As widely believed that something good comes out of bad things, there are different positive roles religious conflict plays, as proposed by Georg Simmel which includes connection, definition, revitalization, social glue, integration and safety valve. For him, all these are necessary for achieving peace and unity only if the conflict is properly handled. Hence, religious conflict is bad in its entirety. Finally, the writer outlines some of the relevance of the work to students, scholars and the general public, advocating for peace.

In the 20th century, in the midst of the active flow of communication technology, which is increasingly active, it provides many conveniences and benefits to the community, especially when accessing information related to religion and da'wah that anyone wants to access. This phenomenon has an impact on various religious understandings by some sects and religious organizations in Indonesia. As we know, there are some of the largest religious organizations that have existed in this country for a long time, namely, Nahdatul Ulama', Muhammadiyah, etc. With the many religious notions that are studied and embraced by some Indonesians, it gives a lot of influence in understanding the religious concept of difference. This can lead to conflict between communities and religious organizations because they have diverse and different religious understandings. Intolerance is a scourge that is very difficult to eliminate in this democratic country. It is proven by the many cases of intolerance that often occur in our country. In recent years, religious issues have become the object of discussion to cause inter-religious conflicts that are spread through social media. with the existence of the Indonesian Gusdurian Network community, it has a very significant influence in countering and also educating the social media world about tolerance between religious communities. Social media is the main tool to provide education and also the importance of understanding differences in diversity with the spirit of maintaining tolerance between religious communities.

This article analyses the forms of religious conflict in cities (urban areas) and villages (rural areas) in Indonesia. The main locus of this study is in 11 regencies and cities in West Java, a province with the highest ranking of violations of religious freedom in Indonesia for the last two decades (2000–2020). These regencies and cities include: Bekasi Regency, Bekasi City, Bogor Regency, Bogor City, Tasikmalaya Regency, Bandung Regency, Bandung City, Kuningan Regency, Garut Regency, Cianjur Regency and Cimahi City. The study confirms that the sociological characteristics of urban and rural areas influence the tendency of different forms of conflict in both areas. On the one hand, heterogeneous urban social conditions tend to have an impact on the forms of conflict between religious communities – Muslims and Christians. On the other hand, the homogeneous rural social conditions affect the forms of conflict that are internal to religious communities or fellow Muslims. This study shows that religious conflict in a region cannot be generalised because each region has different socio-demographic conditions. Therefore, knowledge of differences in socio-demographic conditions in each region is very important because it will determine the form, causes and the ways to handle the conflicts in each region.Contribution: This study contributes to mapping the different sociological characteristics of religious conflict in cities and villages in West Java. It can be used as an illustration for other regions in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

To create positive economic growth and maintain economic stability, the role of the government is needed. The implementation of regional autonomy since early 2001 is a form of government strategy to encourage economic growth not only in the regions around the center but also in areas that are far from the center's reach. The implementation of regional autonomy is in accordance with Law No.22 of 1999 concerning regional autonomy, as well as Law No. 32 of 2004 concerning local government. The government can regulate the course of the economy by determining the amount of government revenue and expenditure each year, which is reflected in the National Budget (APBN) for the national budget and the Regional Budget (APBD) for the region or region. This government expenditure is a form of fiscal policy. During the period of 2010-2019, it can be seen that the realization of the expenditure of the government of West Sumatra is more used for indirect expenditure than direct expenditure. For the average economic growth rate over the past ten years, West Sumatra has the second highest average growth rate compared to other provinces, which is 2.24%, but the growth rate per year is still fluctuating and even more often decreases in percentage. Therefore, the authors are interested in examining how the influence of the realization of government spending on economic growth in West Sumatra. The purpose of this study is to find out how much influence the realization of government spending on economic growth in West Sumatra Province. This research uses quantitative data. The data analysis model used is simple linear regression and includes statistical tests. The results of the study show that government spending has a significant effect on economic growth in the province of West Sumatra.
