The emergence of radicalism problem has threatened disintegration of nation. Therefore, it needs a big role of education especially Islam religious education in preventing the understanding of radical religious teachings, maintaining the character of loving peace and nationalism values. Thus, this research is important to be conducted. This research aims to elaborate de-radicalization of Islamic teachings in Senior High School. This research used descriptive qualitative approach. Research data was obtained from the implementation of curriculum 2013 by senior high school teachers of Islamic religious education in Masamba, South Sulawesi. Data collection was done through direct observation, in-depth interview, and documentation. Data validity was checked through source triangulation and methods. The analysis was done by collecting, presenting, reducing, and drawing conclusion. The results of research were shown that de-radicalization in Islamic education faced several obstacles in achieving assessment standard. Nevertheless, Islamic education in curriculum 2013 can foster students’ character of religious, tolerant, democratic, and peace-love. As an effort of preventing, de-radicalization was done early through Islamic education. The practice of de-radicalization was carried out by teachers in a form of introducing and implementing religious values, tolerance, and nationalism in learning process by integrated with syllabus, teaching materials, and lesson plan.

International Journal of Contemporary Islamic Education volume 2 issue 1 offers six   articles covering topics of Islamic education studies. Various issues relating to Islamic education interestingly presented to contribute to the body of knowledge and practices. Academia and practitioners in Islamic education studies may gain insight from reading the articles.   The first article is titled “Active Learning Strategies Implementation in Arabic Teaching at Senior High School” written by Asmawati Asmawati, Asy’ari Asy’ari, and Malkan Malkan from Postgraduate studies Institut Agama Islam Negeri Palu. This paper discusses the implementation of  active learning strategy in Arabic teaching at a senior high school in Palu city. The second article is titled “ Teachers’ Strategy in Improving Students’ Learning Achievement  of Al-Qur’an and Hadits  at Madrasah Tsanawiyah” written by Mardiah Mardiah, Askar Askar, and Rustina Rustina.   The paper discussed the strategies of teachers of the Qur'an and hadith subjects in improving the learning achievement of students in Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Al-Khairaat Biromaru.  The third article is titled “Contribution of Islamic Education Values in Marriage Tradition of Banggai Ethnic, Indonesia” written by Oyan D. Taufik, Sagaf S. Pettalongi, and Sidik Sidik. The paper discusses  the contribution of Islamic education values in marriage according to the customs of the tribe in district of Banggai Bulagi. The fourth paper is tittled “The Role of Environment in Improving Learning Quality:  A Case Study of Al-Istiqamah Modern Islamic Boarding School” written by Rara Pratiwi, Kamaruddin Kamaruddin, and Adawiyah Adawiyah. The paper discusses the role of learning environment in improving the quality of learning students in modern boarding school Al-Istiqamah Ngatabaru. The fifth article is titled “Effectiveness the Use of Audio Visual Media in Teaching Islamic Religious Education” written by Winarto Winarto, Ahmad Syahid, and Fatimah Saguni. The paper discussed  the effectiveness of using audio visual as media in improving learning achievement of a Islamic Junior high school. The last paper  is title “The Role of Islamic Education Teachers Competency in Improving the Quality of Education” written by Zuhaeriah Zuhaeriah, Moh. Ali, and Yusra Yusra. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi pendidikan karakter demokratis pada siswa di SMAN 1 Kesamben Kabupaten Jombang melalui pembelajaran PPKn. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Observasi digunakan oleh peneliti untuk memperoleh data saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Wawancara digunakan oleh peneliti untuk memperoleh data dari guru dan siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Kesamben Kabupaten Jombang. Data dokumentasi yang diperoleh peneliti berupa perangkat pembelajaran yang dimiliki guru yaitu RPP. Keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui triangulasi teknik (observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi) dan pencocokan data dengan teori. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa nilai karakter demokratis di masukkan guru melalui mata pelajaran PPKn dengan menggunakan metode diskusi. Sedangkan evaluasi dari penanaman karakter demokratis dilakukan dengan evaluasi tertulis dan tidak tertulis untuk melihat moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action.Kata Kunci: pendidikan karakter demokratis, pembelajaran PPKn THE IMPLEMENTATION OF DEMOCRATIC CHARACTER EDUCATION THROUGH PANCASILA AND CIVIC IN GRADE XIIAbstractThis research was aimed to explain the implementation of a democratic character education through Pancasila and civics in grade XII students of senior high school. This was a descriptive qualitative study. The research data were collected through observation, interview and documentation. The observation was used to obtain data during the learning process. Interview was used to obtain data from the teacher and students in Senior High School in Kesamben Jombang Regency. The document used as information research way a set of lesson plan. Data validity of this research was obtained through triangulations technique (observation, interview, and documentation) and data theory verification. Data analyses used were data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. This research showed that the implementation of a democratic character education through the Pancasila and civics in grade XII students of senior high school could be applied well using a discussion learning method. The evaluation for character democratic used written evaluation and non test evaluation for know a moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action.Keywords: democratic character education, Pancasila and civic learning

The aim of this study is to The aim of this paper is to discusse Muslim teachers perspectives on students hedonism behaviors at Senior High School Poso.  This study used qualitative method in which the data was gathered through  direct observation, in-depth interview with students’ parents, and written material.  The results of the study concluded that many students has bad behavior such as consumptive, individualistic, selfish, lazy, irresponsible, wasteful, undisciplined in time, lying, disrespectful of time, shouting, likes to scold, likes to curse, and likes to fight. Besides that, students also like to annoy classmates, like to skip school, and disrespect teachers. The Islamic Religious Education teacher at the school views hedonistic behavior as behavior that can lead students to behavior that exceeds boundaries. Meanwhile, this behavior is very disliked by Allah and His Messenger, so that Islamic Religious Education teachers and stakeholders are expected to prevent hedonistic behavior among students so it does not damage their future.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui realitas upaya guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik di sekolah menengah atas (SMA) se-Kecamatan Bringin, Kabupaten pada tahun 2012, termasuk: (1) Untuk menentukan kompetensi pedagogik guru PAI, (2) Untuk mengetahui upaya guru PAI dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik, (3) Untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan kompetensi pedagogic guru PAI se-Kecamatam Bringin. Penilaian dilakukan penelitian kualitatif, informan terdiri dari guru PAI dan kepala sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dengan metode kualitatif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) kompetensi pedagogik guru PAI SMA se-Kecamatan Bringin Semarang 2012 tergolong baik, terbukti dari latar belakang pendidikan guru yang linier dengan pelajaran yang diampu, pemahaman terhadap kompetensi pedagogik yang baik, persiapan alat pembelajaran dan manajemen pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan ketentuan (2) upaya untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik adalah dengan memperbanyak referensi mengenai kompetensi pedagogik PAI, menghadiri berbagai seminar, lokakarya, pelatihan, dan mengikuti Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP). Pihak sekolah juga melakukan upaya melalui evaluasi belajar, memeriksa pembelajaran, supervisi kelas, dan mendorong guru untuk menghadiri seminar pendidikan (3) Pelaksanaan pedagogik pembelajaran pendidikan Islam akan menentukan kualitas pembelajaran itu sendiri, dengan guru yang memiliki kompetensi pedagogik, manajemen pembelajaran akan berjalan lancar. This study aims to determine the reality of the efforts of teachers of Islamic religious education (PAI) in improving pedagogic competence at senior high school (SMA) throughout Bringin Semarang regency in 2012, including: (1) To determine the pedagogical competence of PAI teachers, (2) To know the efforts of PAI teacher in improving pedagogical competence, (3) To know the implementation of pedagogical competence in PAI. The assessment was conducted qualitative research to informants, both PAI teacher and the headmaster. This study uses a descriptive qualitative procedure. The conclusions are (1) pedagogical competence of PAI teachers at SMA 1 Bringin Semarang Regency 2012 is good, proven by the teachers’ linear education background with teaching load, understanding towards good pedagogic, the preparation of learning tools and management in accordance with the provisions (2) efforts to improve pedagogical competence are by reading various reference regarding it, attending seminars, workshops, trainings, and following deliberation subject teachers (MGMP), the school authorities make efforts through the evaluation of learning, classroom supervision, and creating opportunities for teachers to attend educational seminars (3) Implementation of pedagogic on learning Islamic education will determine the quality of learning itself. This paper describes the interest of reading Islamic education teachers at senior high school in the city of Bogor - West Java. This study was conducted in August - September 2016. The focus of the discussion on the urgency of reading religious literature according to Islamic education Teachers at senior high school in Bogor City and a wide selection of literature that the teachers are interested in. The targets are senior high school of Islamic education teachers that have been certified, both civil servant teachers and non-civil servant teachers. The purpose of this research is to know more deeply about reading interest through the urgency of reading religious literature according to Islamic education teachers at senior high school in Bogor City and a wide selection of literature that interest teachers and used in teaching Islamic Religious Education materials in schools. Based on the results of research, overall, interest in reading owned by Islamic education teachers  in Bogor city is still very good. As many as 94% or 34 Islamic education teachers at senior high school who say the importance of reading religious literature is essential. The variety of literature that is preferred by Islamic education teachers at senior high school in Bogor more on the material Aqidah followed by the material fiqh, morals and history of Islamic civilization

This study reveals about the factors regarding the implementation of inclusive Islamic religious education in Senior High School in Sibolga. The implementation of inclusive PAI which is the problem in this research is the planning, implementation and evaluation of inclusive PAI in Senior High School in Sibolga. The research method in this research is qualitative research with a phonomenology approach, namely analyzing the factors of inclusive Islamic education at State Senior High School in Sibolga. Based on the findings in this study, it can be concluded that the implementation of inclusive Islamic Education in the Sibolga City Senior High School includes planning that includes the school's vision and mission, school work programs/PAI teachers, curriculum, ex-kul, methods, related activities. Based on the results of the evaluation in this implementation, it can be seen that inclusive PAI has the support of school residents and builds inclusive school residents.

Abstract This study aims to examine and examine various models of Islamic education carried out in senior high schools. Islamic education is a field of study that must be carried out starting from elementary school to senior high school and even college, with the hope that students have understanding, experience and can practice religious teachings in accordance with Islamic concepts correctly and kaffah based on the Qur'an. an and Hadith. The model in Islamic education can be in the form of Islamic boarding system education, Integrated Islamic education, Islamic boarding school education, Kuttab education, religious education based on life skills. In the development of this model of Islamic religious education, it must be oriented to the philosophy of life in the form of philosophical, etymological and pedagogical. This research is categorized as library research using descriptive qualitative analysis of literature. The data collection technique uses a study of book texts on education and laws and government regulations that contain Islamic education, especially in senior high schools. Abstrak : Guru Pendidikan Islam mempunyai peran vital untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang toleransi dan akidah yang benar dengan tidak mengesampingkan nilai-nilai kebhinekaan dan kebangsaan, sebagai bekal untuk dapat mencegah konflik antar umat Islam maupun umat beragama lain, serta menghindari ajaran radikal untuk mencegah aksi-aksi kekerasan yang mengatasnamakan agama. Dalam penelitian ini mengungkap peran dan upaya strategis guru Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam menangkal radikalisme  melalui pembelajaran berbasis teknologi informasi di SDIT Al-Husna Gondang Tulungagung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan analisis   data dengan langkah reduksi, display data dan konklusi. Teknik  keabsahan data menggunakan trianggulasi dan diskusi sejawat. Hasil penelitiannya adalah peran guru PAI sebagai perencana, mediator, fasilitator, dan filter  dalam proses pembelajaran PAI berbasis teknologi Informasi yang berwawasan nilai-nilai moderasi Islam. Abstrack: Islamic education teachers have a vital role to provide an understanding of tolerance and the correct creed without neglecting the values ​​of diversity and nationality, as a provision to prevent conflicts between Muslims and other religious communities, and avoid radical teachings to prevent violent acts. In this study reveals the role and strategic efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in counteracting radicalism through information technology-based learning at SDIT Al-Husna Gondang Tulungagung. The research method used is a type of qualitative research with observation data collection techniques, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis using reduction steps, data display and conclusion drawing. The data validity technique used triangulation and peer discussion. The result of the research is the role of Islamic Education teachers as planners, mediators, facilitators, and filters in the learning process of Islamic Education based on Information technology with the insight into Islamic moderation values.

This study aims at determining the performance of religious education teachers in Aliyah Madrasas on Nunukan Island, North Kalimantan, and increasing the role of performance of religious education teachers in carrying out their duties to Aliyah Madrasas on Nunukan Island, North Kalimantan. This type of research is qualitative research located on Nunukan Island, North Kalimantan. Methods of data collection are carried out using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Data analysis carried out was data reduction, data presentation and data verification. Then the data validity is tested by observation and triangulation.The results showed that performance of religious education teachers in the Aliyah Madrasah on Nunukan Island in North Kalimantan is relatively good. However, it still needs to be improved, especially in terms of discipline, ability in the preparation of components of learning devices, as well as the ability to use learning media. 2) Teacher education strategies to improve their performance by conducting continuous evaluations, supervising and evaluating administration, 3) Supporting factors for the performance of religious education teachers, namely a conducive learning atmosphere, harmonious relationships, the ability of the headmaster to motivate teachers. While the inhibiting factors are the lack of facilities and infrastructure needed by religious education teachers, small and minimal income.
