A meaningful characteristic of modern industrial production is given and prospects for the modernization of the Belarusian industry through new industrialization are identified in the paper. In this regard, the objectives of the study have been determined: to consider modern concepts of the transformation of economic systems under the influence of technological progress, to substantively characterize the new industrialization, including to describe the technological and organizational features of the new intentional production, to identify its distinctive features, to determine the prospects for using the concept of new industrialization for modernization of the Belarusian industry. The methodological basis was the general scientific methods and principles of сognition, namely: the method of deduction and induction, the method of comparative analysis, historical approach. The author considers the new industrialization as an economic structure that has developed as a result  of the spread of digital technologies in a modern socially-oriented, predominantly market economy. The technological basis  of the new industrial production is cyber-physical production systems that operate through the industrial Internet of things,  the Internet of services and network mechanisms of interaction between all participants in the value added chain. The development of digital production and digital services entails the digitalization of business models. The result is flexible, adaptive, individualized industrial production through the triad of digital production, digital services and digital business models. When modernizing the Belarusian industrial complex, aimed at developing high-tech and knowledge-intensive industrial production and increasing the efficiency of traditional industries through the use of a wide variety of new technologies, the priority should be the comprehensive digitalization of production, services and business models.

The subject of the research is the introduction of artificial intelligence as a technological innovation into the Russian economic development. The relevance of the problem is due to the fact that the Russian market of artificial intelligence is still in the infancy and the necessity to bridge the current technological gap between Russia and the leading economies of the world is coming to the forefront. The financial sector, the manufacturing industry and the retail trade are the drivers of the artificial intelligence development. However, company managers in Russia are not prepared for the practical application of expensive artificial intelligence technologies. Under these circumstances, the challenge is to develop measures to support high-tech projects of small and medium-sized businesses, given that the technological innovation considered can accelerate the development of the Russian economy in the energy sector fully or partially controlled by the government as well as in the military-industrial complex and the judicial system. The purposes of the research were to examine the current state of technological innovations in the field of artificial intelligence in the leading countries and Russia and develop proposals for improving the AI application in the Russian practices. The paper concludes that the artificial intelligence is a breakthrough technology with a great application potential. Active promotion of the artificial intelligence in companies significantly increases their efficiency, competitiveness, develops industry markets, stimulates introduction of new technologies, improves product quality and scales up manufacturing. In general, the artificial intelligence gives a new impetus to the development of Russia and facilitates its entry into the five largest world’s economies.

The article attempts to identify the key parameters of new industrialization, scientifically substantiate the place of such components as digitalization, cooperation, and the role of the public sector in economic transformation. An attempt is made to formulate the main theses of the concept of phase, which makes it possible to establish not only the divisibility of the process of new industrialization, but also to identify the main economic characteristics in the form of dominants, determinants and patterns for each phase of neoindustrial transformations. It is noted that, in most of the existing studies, new industrialization itself acts as one of the phases of economic development, along with such phases as industrialization, deindustrialization and reindustrialization. Each of these phases has a corresponding time interval and corresponding key parameters that allow identifying the main processes and results of passing the phase. Moreover, each of these phases also obeys the laws of phase behavior and, accordingly, can be divided into certain phases. The article considers new industrialization as a fourphase process. In view of the fact that new industrialization is a process that includes both the goals of modernization and the goals of innovative development, and thus assumes that there is a lag behind the basic technological development of the potential of the industry, the first phase of the process is the initiation of new industrialization, which implies a control effect on the process. Increasing the productivity of capital and labor in the system of new industrialization presupposes the active use of new technologies and knowledge, the increasing of efficiency through the widespread involvement of technological innovations in the economic circulation, as well as structural changes and the use of new combinations of resources. Digitalization at the initial stage of new industrialization can be viewed as a digital transformation, which leads to the formation of a new technological basis for production. At the stage of the full deployment of new industrialization, digitalization is a determinant that ensures the effective development of neoindustrial transformations. At the initial stage of new industrialization, the form of ownership of industrial resources is considered as a key dominant. The author concludes that key parameters such as digitalization, cooperation and the form of ownership at various phases of new industrialization can act as both determining and influencing factors, and under certain conditions become process patterns.

Abstract Information technology has massively transformed the world of business over the past fifty years - first individual functional areas within companies (“first wave”), later increasingly also cross-divisional value-added processes and trade (“second wave”). Those companies that recognized the tremendous economic potential of these upheavals and consistently adapted, profited enormously - many others, however, fell dramatically. At the same time, innovative startups emerged that successfully created and occupied new markets. With the Internet of Things (IoT), the third digital wave is currently rolling up. Their impact will be enormous - both for our everyday lives and for many industries that have so far been largely spared the disruptive power of digital transformation. Accordingly, the challenges facing most companies today are: understanding more complex competition, acquiring new digital technologies, making existing offerings smart, developing new services, networking production, efficiently analyzing vast amounts of data, and building viable organizations to push all this forward. The IoT is a driver for digitization. By analyzing machine data, the use of sensors and the intelligent real-time processing of huge amounts of data in the cloud, new business models are created. With the information gained, companies are able to improve their value chain. However, one of the most difficult issues in this context for many companies is how they can further develop their existing business model or establish successful new business models that will be based on new technologies and IoT. To investigate resulting impacts, we draw on the existing business models and deduct specifics for the Internet of Things. Building on this, in order to reach the aims of the paper the authors will use a descriptive research method and a case study in order to present how new business models work with the IoT.

Abstract This paper analyzes how design diffusion is changing the organizational logics of established companies. If previously design activities had as its main objective packaging new technologies to create differentials for products and services and to reduce production costs, with the diffusion of digital services currently design activities expand its scope and identify functional and emotional needs from users that are relevant for creating differentiated experiences, that in turn will result in new products and services that incorporate existing and emerging technologies of the firm. This transformation reveals a new organizational strategy, in which design assumes a more relevant position for the creation of innovative business models. However, a point not yet considered in the literature is how companies are restructuring their operations in order to benefit from this transition. This paper analyzes how Brazilian organizations of different sizes and sectors have redefined their management models in order to incorporate design as a catalyst of change. The obtained framework consolidates the main propositions of design while directing of the changes in the organizations in the operational, tactical and strategic levels.
