The effective implementation of innovations is broadly determined by the ways of their financing, among which project funding is particularly important today. This paper examines the impact of project funding on the innovative growth of the state in the EU countries and Ukraine in the context of sustainable development. Using theoretical and empirical methods, this study identifies and systematizes traditional and innovative forms of sustainable innovation project funding, which are practically used by the EU member states and Ukraine. Based on statistical methods, data analysis for the period from 2014 to 2020 and indicators characterizing the participation of countries in the largest European project funding program Horizon 2020 and other similar programs, the study revealed a close relationship between the conditions created by the state for participation in project funding programs and indicators of innovation activity and the climate of the state. The study allowed determining that funding from international sources, including funds from leading European institutions, which support the dissemination of sustainable innovations, can be a good alternative for innovation project funding under limited domestic resources. The study concluded that diversification of sources and forms of project funding, use and support from the state influences and accelerates the development of innovation infrastructure in a country (clusters, business incubators etc.), as well as the interaction between various participants in a sustainable innovation process (state, regions, large enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, communities).

Introduction. Due to the introduction of the euro integration vector of the Ukrainian economy development, the modernization and adaptation of the transport infrastructure to the EU standards should take place. For ensuring the efficient operation of transport infrastructure, it is necessary to develop a new, more efficient management model in the form of a national innovative transport HUB. The purpose of the paper is the offering of mechanism for the innovative development of transport infrastructure based on factor and forecast estimates. Results. The proposed mechanism of the state regulation of development of national innovative transport HUB is to transform the impact of the environment as the main source of innovation change, which simultaneously serves as a source of resources that infrastructure as an open system uses at the input of its activities to ensure the expected result. The possibility of implementing the proposed mechanism of the state regulation of development of the national innovative transport HUB was analyzed on the basis of the results of activities of individual entities that are part of the transport infrastructure of the Kyiv region. Conclusion. The simulation results prove that the developed simulation model of innovative behavior of the transport infrastructure objects has considerable potential for explaining the peculiarities of the innovative behavior of the transport infrastructure objects of the Kyiv region, identifying and implementing priority innovative projects. Factor and predictive assessments of the innovative development of transport infrastructure of the Kyiv region, allows to evaluate the impact on the innovative behavior of certain factors, including the degree of development of elements of innovative infrastructure and the effectiveness of measures for state regulation of innovative activity of transport infrastructure objects in the coordinates of two-dimensional matrix “Efficiency-Reliability”.

Business cannot act in isolation from society since it itself is a part of society. The fact that corporate social responsibility (hereinafter – CSR) has become a global business concept that defines key ideas and a modern format for entrepreneurship is no longer questionable. Every year, more and more companies are joining the initiative of non-financial reporting, which acts as a “business card of a social image.” The presence of social and ethical business standards greatly contributes to the formation of a positive business image and increases corporate competitiveness. At the same time, the growth of social, environmental, and economic problems of a global scale raises public expectations and, therefore, requirements for socially responsible activities of companies, inducing them to continuously improve the quality of CSR practices, finding innovative approaches to solving socially important problems, which is reflected in the global development trends of socially responsible business. The formation of models of state regulation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in developed countries took place over several decades and, at the present stage, they are characterized by a high degree of development. The author aims to study the genesis of development of models of state regulation of corporate social responsibility, analyse principles of the formation of social responsibility strategy, and propose areas for improving CSR for companies operating in the European business space at the modern development stage in view of implementing the concept of sustainable development. After analysing the national models of CSR state regulation, we note that in the research of scientists, there from three (American, European, Asian) to seven models: American (US), European (Continental), British, Scandinavian, Asian (Japanese), African, model of BRICS countries or more. But, of course, the US model of CSR, formed in the specific conditions of the free market, is the largest. Key conclusions of the involvement of European companies in the implementation of the CSR strategy are as follows: involvement depends on the size of the company (CSR policy is applied by 48% of small and 65% of medium-sized companies); the implementation of the CSR policy does not depend on the company’s field, but there was a geographical discrepancy (for example, 33% of the SME in France and 83% in Finland); among all companies, 50% use the CSR strategy; only 8% of the EU company receive privileges or subsidies from the state for implementing the CSR policy; more than 75% of SME representatives among respondents can determine the benefits of corporate social responsibility. In the majority of the EU countries, state programs of support and stimulation of the abovementioned processes, in which the state defines socially responsible behaviour for business, engages private and public sector companies in the joint fulfilment of socially important tasks, stimulates business to socially responsible activity, are developed and operate. On the basis of determining the factors influencing the formation of social responsibility strategy and matrix of the appropriateness of SRB introduction, areas for improving strategic management based on social responsibility standards were formed.

The article deals with economic sanctions and their impact on the state and prospects of the neighboring partner economies - the European Union (EU) and Russia. It provides comparisons of current data with that of the year 2013 (before sanctions) to demonstrate the impact of sanctions on both sides. Despite the fact that Russia remains the EU’s key partner, it came out of the first three partners of the EU. The current economic recession is caused by different reasons, not only by sanctions. Both the EU and Russia have internal problems, which the sanctions confrontation only exacerbates. The article emphasizes the need for a speedy restoration of cooperation.

The impact of implementation of cohesion policy on the sustainable development of EU countries is of great interest and presents a number of actual challenges. This research aims to evaluate the impact and the effects of the cohesion policy among the Member States using hierarchical clustering analysis in order to identify how the selected variables affect the sustainable development adopted models. The variables used in the analysis were selected on the basis of official data provided by the European Commission, SDG Index and Dashboards Reports and the EU Cohesion Monitor. The results of the research have led to the grouping of the 28 Member States in a number of six clusters, identifying performers but also those countries that have a high potential for sustainable development or which require increased attention to be sustained in recovering existing gaps. The article examines topical issues that assess the impact of EU sanctions on the volume of tax revenues of the consolidated budget of Russia. The main purpose of this study is an attempt to develop a factor model that allows assessing the sanctions impact on the specified tax revenues, describing and analyzing the factors that directly or indirectly affect the formation of the consolidated budget revenues of the Russian Federation, identifying the corresponding relationships during the period of new industrialization. A separate stage of the presented study is associated with the development of the above model, which evaluates the sanctions effect on the composition of tax revenues of the consolidated budget of the Russian Federation and verification of the adequacy of this model. The authors' own research made it possible to develop a conceptual factor model that assesses the impact of the sanctions effect of the EU countries on the composition and volume of tax revenues of the consolidated budget of the Russian Federation, the use of which makes it possible to analyze the proceeds from the tax payments that have come under the influence of the sanctions. The model presented by the authors makes it possible to fundamentally assess the real impact of the applied sanctions on tax revenues of the consolidated budget of the Russian Federation, to develop appropriate directions in the development of the country during the period of the new industrialization of the Russian state.
