Psychological assistance is strongly needed in relation to the recovery of the psychological state of children who are in conflict with the law. Semarang City has developed a school-based restorative justice program as a response to such needs. This research aims to explore the factors which could potentially obstruct the psychological recovery process of these children during the implementation of the program. The study adopts a qualitative design through multiple case studies, with the participation of three children and those close to them. The case study data analysis was conducted based on Yin's (2015) techniques, consisting of pattern matching, explanation building, logic models, and cross-case synthesis. The results show that negative support from peers, drug abuse, negative role models, emotional detachment from close friends and relatives, and negative stigma were the factors obstructing the recovery process of the participants. These findings could be essential for practitioners’ design of psychological interventions which are more relevant to the children’s recovery needs.

ObjectivesAlthough different forms of patient feedback are available, their use in hospital management is still limited. The objective of this study is to explore how patient feedback is currently used in hospitals to improve quality.DesignThis is a qualitative exploratory multiple case study. Data collection included nine interviews, of an average duration of 50 min, conducted between March and June 2019. Additionally, a document and secondary data analysis were performed.SettingThis study was conducted in three Brazilian hospitals selected for their solid patient feedback practises.ParticipantsManagers from the customer service, quality, nursing, operations, projects and patient experience departments of the three hospitals.ResultsDespite literature suggesting that organisational objectives regarding patient feedback are not clear, data show that there is managerial concern regarding the promotion of an environment capable of changing according to patient feedback. In these instances, organisational processes were structured to focus on patients’ feedback and its receipt by the staff, including a non-punitive culture. Several patient feedback forms are available: voluntary events, patient surveys and informal feedback. Instruments to measure patient feedback focused on specific aspects of healthcare, to identify and clarify the problems for addressal by the management. The net promoter score was the main strategic indicator of patient feedback, used to assess the impact of improvement action.ConclusionsThe hospitals had established objectives that valued the patient’s perspective. Involvement of the health team, availability of different channels for feedback and the use of quality tools are considered a good basis for using patient feedback to drive quality improvement.

Today, role modeling is an essential component of medical education that facilitates the students' learning and affects their attitudes and behaviors. Hence, this study aimed to examine the characteristics of positive and negative role models using a mixed method approach. In the quantitative part, data were collected using a questionnaire with 24 items. The research population included medical students who were in their clinical period between May 2017 and December 2018 at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (n = 750). A total of 282 questionnaires were completed by these students, and in the qualitative part, 26 semi-structured interviews were conducted with them. The most important components of role modeling for students included: individual characteristics, clinical skills and competence, teaching skills and professionalism, in that order. The qualitative analysis confirmed the results of the quantitative analysis. The findings showed that the characteristics of a negative role model can also be classified in four main components. The results demonstrated that 46.8% of the students identified one or more medical teachers as negative models. Students paid attention to not only the positive characteristics of their teachers, but also their negative features, stating that they had been influenced by both. Therefore, it can be concluded that clinical teachers should improve their performance as positive role models through reducing these negative effects and reinforcing positive characteristics

The coronavirus pandemic, which has become a challenge not only for doctors, but also for psychologists around the world, will have a long-term psychological effect for Russians. At the same time, a way out of the crisis can, on the contrary, make people stronger and speed up the economic recovery, as it was after the plague and the Spanish flu, experts say. According to historical data on the consequences of plague and Spanish flu epidemics in Europe and the United States, given in a report by Dmitry Ushakov, Director of the Institute of psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, it often turned out that people who survived them lived longer, and the most affected regions showed higher recovery rates. Experts note the growing demand for psychological assistance among people who have witnessed a global pandemic. Problems related to the consequences of stress that people faced in self-isolation have become more acute. These are also problems related to the violation of the traditional way of life, being isolated, in General, there is a certain aggression around the world, an increase in domestic violence, and many other issues. Psychologists found themselves in the situation of an included experiment. Despite the absence of a “mental epidemic”, citizens of various countries, experiencing fear and confusion, turned to its Internet to get the necessary information about the pandemic in order to eliminate fears for their health and the health of their relatives, including mental health. Its Internet today contains a lot of chats (correspondence) both in the professional language among medical personnel, as well as non-specialists. An analysis of objectively quantifiable measures found no clear correlation between the use of psychological acceptance and recovery in mental illness as measured by the RAS. The data, however, showed a relationship between psychological acceptance and some components of recovery, thereby demonstrating its possible value in the recovery process.Conclusion. The study of exploring the green technology practices and investments of beach-resorts in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines, was realized in support of the worldwide call of promoting responsible and sustainable ecotourism sites. It discloses how these six resorts use green products in their operations, manage their waste, energy, and water resources, uncover practices that need improvement, including its primary causes, and evaluate their green technology investments' progress. This study is qualitative and designed as a multiple case study. Data were collected and validated through methodological triangulation (interview, document analysis, and on-site validation) and analyzed using Qualitative Data Analysis (QDA). Thus, notable findings include the resorts' use of stainless in replacement to plastic straws, glasses instead of disposable cups, and paper instead of Styrofoam boxes. Hence, the absence of compost pitting, the lack of a water control system, and the undersupply of solar panels are a few of the resorts' drawbacks. Therefore, this study discerns that the disproportion between capital and return of investments and the guests' lodging behavior influences the resorts' green technology practices and investments.

A review of the literature in this relatively new field highlights the legitimacy of gender-specific research on substance abuse in women. Consistent findings compared to men include a higher physical vulnerability to alcohol, a higher risk of assortative mating, the reported association of traumatic events with the onset of substance abuse, a higher psychiatric comorbidity and a shorter interval between first problem and first treatment episode. Intravenous drug use remains the major source of growth of HIV infection among women. Family assessment and treatment as well as the involvement of female role models are critical to the recovery process. Gender-specific services may be recruiting women who might not otherwise have sought treatment for their substance abuse. Further investigation is required in order to distinguish the relative significance of the genetic versus environmental vulnerability of women, the impact of rapidly changing social mores on the onset, pattern and course of substance abuse, possible gender-specific alcohol typologies, the validity of the recall of traumatic events as well as the program variables required in reaching out and engaging women on the path to recovery.
