Purpose The purpose of this paper is to propose a new model for studying the patron’s satisfaction level over time for library systems. For this purpose, it is necessary to identify the key factors that are influential in nature. Thereafter, this paper explains and shows the procedure used for developing the causal loop diagram, the flow diagram, mathematical modelling and the simulation of the problem. A sample problem is used to show the applicability of the proposed model. Because the proposed methodology allows management to look into the patrons’ satisfaction level over time, it makes a significant contribution to the literature of the library and information management, as well as dynamic simulation modelling. Design/methodology/approach This paper is written based on the studies and observations from scientific journals and reports. For model development purposes, the author has used the concept of systems thinking and systems dynamics to model the complex systems and simulate that using Vensim computer simulation software. Findings As the trend of patron’s satisfaction shows, it is possible to improve the satisfaction level over time to a level above 60 per cent from 48 per cent over the simulation running periods. Meanwhile, the level of donation is up from 10 to 40 per cent in the same period as the satisfaction level has been studied. Because this is the first paper that looks into such important variables over time using systems dynamics, it makes significant contribution to the field of library and information management. Originality/value In almost all library models for patron’s satisfaction calculation, the proposed models are static and can find this value for a point of time rather than over a long period of time. In this paper, a system with an initial value of patron’s satisfaction level was used, and by taking all key factors into consideration, the author has developed a system that calculates patron’s satisfaction trend over time. Also, the proposed dynamic model is able to determine the level of donations that patrons can make to the library over time.

Nonetheless, various researches and the practical situation reveal the poor variety of out-of-class activities for children and provides for non-formal teaching activities that dissatisfy schoolchildren needs. The objectives of this research were to disclose the theoretical background of the non-formal teaching in the positive socialization, to determine what are the exact preconditions of a successful establishment of the nonformal teaching process for children, and to point out the improvement possibilities of non-formal teaching. Scholars emphasize the importance of non-formal teaching for creativeness and the important activities that influence the values and a positive socialization of a person. To organize qualitative leisure time activities of children and their motivation, participation are essential pedagogical issues in Lithuania and other countries. The objective of the present research was to expose the importance of non-formal education for the positive socialization of children. The conclusion of the research:When speaking about the conception of non-formal education, it is important to acknowledge that the informal teaching is oriented on the development of professional skills and improving personality. The nonformal education provides a young person with a possibility of expressing himself in a field where he or she is capable to improve individual potency, find appealing ways of spending leisure time, to acquire new competencies. The examined references and the undertaken study revealed that positive personality establishment is highly influenced by family, the culture of school, the informal peer, (the pattern) of adults and friends behaviour, where the informal education takes a place in such formation too. Well organized informal teaching of children and teenagers is an essential condition for socialization of a new peer and most effective crime prevention.– Both parties of respondents (herein, teachers and parents) equally agree on a fact that the process o informal teaching positively influences a child’s personality development. The majority of the respondents confirm that during participation in the informal teaching process, social, personal and educational competencies are developed.– Questioned parents and teachers approve that during the participation in such informal teaching activities such students’ (children) capabilities as self-sufficiency, self-confidence, responsibility and attentiveness are developed. According to the opinion of the respondents, the activity of informal teaching fosters their busyness, motivates them to take a part in their favourite activity, helps pupils to positively socialize in a society and expose children personal skills.– Concerning the problems arisen in the informal teaching, both parties claimed there is shortage of kids’ clubs, they also mentioned the financing difficulties and deficiency of desirable kids’ clubs.Key words: non-formal education, non-formal education of children, positive socialization.

Background: The value of clients’ reports of their experiences in therapy is widely recognized, yet quantitative methodology has rarely been used to measure clients’ self-reported perceptions of what is helpful over a single session. Aims: A video-rating method using was developed to gather data at brief intervals using process measures of client perceived experience and standardized measures of working alliance (Session Rating Scale; SRS). Data were collected over the course of a single video-recorded session of cognitive therapy (Method of Levels Therapy; Carey, 2006; Mansell et al., 2012). We examined the acceptability and feasibility of the methodology and tested the concurrent validity of the measure by utilizing theory-led constructs. Method: Eighteen therapy sessions were video-recorded and clients each rated a 20-minute session of therapy at two-minute intervals using repeated measures. A multi-level analysis was used to test for correlations between perceived levels of helpfulness and client process variables. Results: The design proved to be feasible. Concurrent validity was borne out through high correlations between constructs. A multi-level regression examined the independent contributions of client process variables to client perceived helpfulness. Client perceived control (b = 0.39, 95% CI .05 to 0.73), the ability to talk freely (b = 0.30, SE = 0.11, 95% CI .09 to 0.51) and therapist approach (b = 0.31, SE = 0.14, 95% CI .04 to 0.57) predicted client-rated helpfulness. Conclusions: We identify a feasible and acceptable method for studying continuous measures of helpfulness and their psychological correlates during a single therapy session.

ABSTRACT This article proposes an analytical approach to conflicts and policy-making related to urban water management based on multi-level policy coalitions. This is necessary to articulate four main issues. First, the repositioning of social and political struggles for access to water, along with policy variables. Second, the analysis of the effects of ecological transition, including climate change. Third, the reincorporation of these struggles and challenges in a multi-level approach. Finally, the enquiry into the apparent contradiction, in contemporary policymaking. The article proposes a definition of multi-level coalitions as collective preference systems that influence the content of policies (ideas/advocacy, decisions, policy tools) and their implementation, groups of actors that arise from engagement in policy issues. In the first section, the article presents the objectives of research on urban water management in the Americas, within the framework of which this analytical approach by multi-level coalitions is fashioned. In the second section, the article details four analytical issues. In the third section, it gives a definition of multi-level coalitions.
