Objetivou-se neste artigo relatar a experiência da construção e execução da ação de extensão sobre curso de exame físico.Estudo descritivo, do tipo relato de experiência, acerca da ação de extensão, destinada aos discentes do 4º período do cursode graduação em enfermagem de uma universidade federal do nordeste. A ação ocorreu em três momentos distintos, a saber:apresentação de vídeo temático, demonstração prática do exame físico e jogo educativo. Concluiu-se que os professoresdevem utilizar técnicas de ensino que possibilitem interações mais dinâmicas com os discentes em detrimento das tradicionaismetodologias conservadoras que são, em essência, fragmentadas e reducionistas.Descritores: Enfermagem, Ensino, Exame Físico.SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT STRATEGY OF PHYSICAL EXAMINATION IN NURSINGThe objective of this article is to report the experience of building and execution the extension course of action on physicalexamination. RESUMO Objetivo: descrever a experiência da elaboração e aplicação de uma tecnologia educativa como forma de promover a autoeficácia materna em amamentar no período pós-parto. Método: trata-se de um estudo descritivo, tipo relato de experiência, sobre o desenvolvimento da tecnologia educativa, no qual se desenvolveram as seguintes etapas: capacitação discente; pesquisa bibliográfica sobre a temática; e elaboração e aplicação da tecnologia educativa com puérperas em puerpério imediato. Resultados: propiciou-se, por meio da tecnologia educativa, um ambiente favorável para o emponderamento das puérperas. Utilizou-se o folder “Toda mulher é capaz de amamentar!”, que favoreceu a interatividade, o conhecimento e o debate a respeito da autoeficácia materna para amamentar, criando um ambiente propício ao diálogo acerca de fatores que podem intervir negativamente para a instituição e manutenção do aleitamento materno no período pós-parto. Conclusão: verificou-se que a tecnologia educativa favoreceu o compartilhamento do conhecimento com as puérperas e seus acompanhantes, contribuindo significativamente para o empoderamento materno em amamentar. Method: this is an experience report-type descriptive study based on the development of educational technology, in which the following stages were carried out: students’ training; bibliographic research on the topic; and preparation and use of educational technology with puerperal women in the immediate postpartum period. Results: a favorable environment for the empowerment of puerperal women was provided through educational technology. We used the folder “Every woman is capable of breastfeeding!”, which favored interactivity, knowledge, and debate about breastfeeding self-efficacy, creating a proper environment for dialoguing about factors that may negatively affect breastfeeding during the postpartum period. Conclusion: we observed that the educational technology favored the sharing of knowledge with the puerperal women and their caregivers, contributing significantly to maternal empowerment in breastfeeding. Resultados: se proporcionó un entorno favorable para el empoderamiento de las mujeres puérperas a través de la tecnología educativa. Se usó el folleto “¡Toda mujer es capaz de amamantar!”, lo que favoreció la interactividad, el conocimiento y el debate acerca de la auto-eficacia para la lactancia materna, creando un ambiente propicio para el diálogo sobre los factores que pueden intervenir negativamente en el mantenimiento de la lactancia materna en el posparto. Conclusión: se encontró que la tecnología educativa favoreció el intercambio de conocimientos con las puérperas y sus compañeros, contribuyendo de manera significativa al empoderamiento materno en la lactancia. Objective: To report the experience of a care for a person with clinical picture of accidental tetanus, victim of fireworks. Method: It is a descriptive study, experience report type, referring to the experience of a care performed by nursing students in June 2019, in an emergency unit at a regional public hospital in a city in the inland of state of Bahia, Brazil. Results: Victims of burns by fireworks need nursing actions that promote measures to prevent accidental tetanus. These activities can be a detailed data collection, such as observation of vaccination history and wound bed care. Conclusion: From the experience, it was possible to expand the knowledge of nursing students through reflections on the immediate measures related to care with accidental tetanus.

OBJECTIVES: To assess how nursing students perform the physical examination of children regarding the use of instruments, the sequence of the procedures and the interaction with patients, and identify the phases of motivation and performance in the learning of this exam. METHODS: This is a descriptive study, using forms and observing students attending the course 'Semiology and sign and symptom interpretation' in a nursing undergraduate program in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul State, Brazil. RESULTS: Most students felt motivated to perform the exam and interacted with the child under examination. By assessing student performance, it was possible to identify the difficulties they face using techniques to collecting data on anthropometric measurements, vital signs, auscultation, palpation, percussion, and inspection. CONCLUSION: The evaluation instrument was considered effective in allowing students to identify the features distinguishing normal from abnormal patterns in children.

RESUMO Este estudo procurou descrever a experiência adquirida durante o desenvolvimento e realização de um projeto de semiologia e propedêutica clínica, sob a perspectiva do tripé: ensino-pesquisa-extensão. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, do tipo relato de experiência e utilizou-se como método, a descrição das etapas de implantação. Os resultados são referentes às primeiras atividades desenvolvidas pelo núcleo e indicam que, apesar de pouco tempo, o projeto foi capaz de integrar ensino-pesquisa-extensão, contribuindo para a formação dos estudantes. Estes resultados salientam avanços na autonomia dos estudantes e na coerência com uma formação ética, crítica, humanística e interdisciplinar.   ABSTRACT This study aimed to describe the experience acquired during the development and implementation of a project of semiology and clinical propaedeutics, from the perspective of a tripod: teaching-research-extension. This is a descriptive study, the experience report type and used as a method, the description of the implementation steps. The results refer to the first activities developed by the projects. It indicates that, despite a short time, the project was able to integrate teaching-research-extension, contributing to the formation of students. These results highlight advances in student autonomy and consistency with ethical, critical, humanistic and interdisciplinary training.     RESUMEN Este estudio describe una experiencia durante el desarrollo y la práctica de una clínica semiológica y propedéutica, en la perspectiva del trípode: enseñanza-investigación-extensión. Es un método descriptivo, tipo de experiencia y uso del método, una descripción de los pasos de implementación. Los resultados se refieren a las primeras actividades desarrolladas por el proyecto.  Indican que, a pesar del poco tiempo, el proyecto pudo integrar la enseñanza-investigación-extensión, contribuyendo a la formación de los estudiantes. Estos resultados destacan los avances en la autonomía y la coherencia de los estudiantes con la formación ética, crítica, humanista e interdisciplinaria.

Objective: To find out the frequency of major categories of stroke (i.e. cerebral infarction, intracerebral hemorrhage and sub-arachnoid hemorrhage) Design: A descriptive study. Place & Duration of Study:Medical unit III Allied Hospital Faisalabad from January 2005 to June 2005. Patients and Methods: 112 patients wereenrolled after taking verbal consent. After complete physical examination and investigations a sample size of 100patients was calculated using 5% level of significant and margin of error as 5%. Results: This study revealed frequencydistribution of various categories of stroke as cerebral infarction 62 cases (62%), cerebral haemorrhage 30 cases (30%)and sub-arachnoid haemorrhage 8 cases (8%) out of 100 cases in total. Conclusion: Intra-cerebral bleed has got ahigher trend in Asia than in western countries and is more common in female gender while cerebral infarction is morecommon in males and its frequency although the highest among the major categories of stroke in Asia but relativelyless as compared to that in western countries.

Aim: To identify the nursing diagnoses of the activity/rest domain of NANDA-I Taxonomy II and to analyze the association between the most frequent diagnoses and their defining characteristics, related factors/risk in people living with AIDS. Method: This is a cross-sectional and descriptive study using a quantitative approach. It was performed with 113 patients from March to September 2014. Data were collected using two validated instruments for anamnesis and physical examination. For the elaboration of the diagnoses, the Risner model was followed. And, for purposes of statistical association, the Chi-Square and Fisher tests were used. Results: We identified 30 diagnoses, and only six had a statistically significant association with their components: impaired sleep pattern; fatigue; insomnia; risk of ineffective renal perfusion; impaired walking; deficit in self-care for the bath.  Conclusion: The diagnoses with their associated components provide guidance for the elaboration of nursing interventions as a priority.

In today’s world, diplomacy is considered as a basic principle in guiding the states. Since the historical era, the meaningful pursuit of diplomacy has been through the in-depth knowledge on the national determinants that signifies national goal and objectives. Actually, the foreign policy does not exist in vacuity, so the course of action to achieve the national goals of any state is only possible through diplomats having vibrant character. In Nepal, due to political instability, slow deployment process and selection of non-diplomatic persons has created diplomatic isolation. This paper identifies the modern Nepali trends in selection of competent diplomats due to the cause of political saps. This is the genuine concern to be corrected by the authority in order to enhance the essence to deploy an ideal diplomat who offers in-depth knowledge and idea about the modern diplomacy. Only, those efforts are represented through diplomats who are the image of the state. This research paper is based on descriptive study applying secondary sources of literatures as regards to modern diplomacy, international relations and foreign policy in context of Nepal and these components are analyzed to provide a clear picture of recent trends of Nepali foreign policy and functional skills of diplomats in diplomatic mission.

ABSTRACT Objective: to create and validate an electronic database in ophthalmology focused on strabismus, to computerize this database in the form of a systematic data collection software named Electronic Protocol, and to incorporate this protocol into the Integrated System of Electronic Protocols (SINPE(c)). Methods: this is a descriptive study, with the methodology divided into three phases: (1) development of a theoretical ophthalmologic database with emphasis on strabismus; (2) computerization of this theoretical ophthalmologic database using SINPE(c) and (3) interpretation of the information with demonstration of results to validate the protocol. We inputed data from the charts of fifty patients with known strabismus through the Electronic Protocol for testing and validation. Results: the new electronic protocol was able to store information regarding patient history, physical examination, laboratory exams, imaging results, diagnosis and treatment of patients with ophthalmologic diseases, with emphasis on strabismus. We included 2,141 items in this master protocol and created 20 new specific electronic protocols for strabismus, each with its own specifics. Validation was achieved through correlation and corroboration of the symptoms and confirmed diagnoses of the fifty included patients with the diagnostic criteria for the twenty new strabismus protocols. Conclusion: a new, validated electronic database focusing on ophthalmology, with emphasis on strabismus, was successfully created through the standardized collection of information, and computerization of the database using proprietary software. This protocol is ready for deployment to facilitate data collection, sorting and application for practitioners and researchers in numerous specialties.
