Psychology is one of the potential factors to be successful in physical education learning at universities. However, it is still unknown that among self-esteem, adversity quotient, and self-handicapping has more correlation with achievement goals. This quantitative correlational study aims to investigate the correlation among self-esteem, adversity quotient, self-handicapping, and achievement goals. The participants of this study were 80 female students. These student were in the third or fourth years of the participating universities. The instruments to collect the data were self-esteem, adversity quotient, self-handicapping, and achievement goal questionnaires. In statistical analysis, SPSS version 25 was used to find bivariate correlation and regression with a significance level of .05. The results show that self-esteem is positively correlated with adversity quotient, self-handicapping, and goal achievement. Then, the adversity quotient is positively correlated with self-handicapping and achievement goals. Meanwhile, self-handicapping has a negative correlation with achievement goals. To optimally achieve the goals in physical education classes, the aspects of self-esteem and adversity quotient should be correlated. However, self-esteem does not necessarily need to be correlated with self-handicapping. This study benefits the development of science, especially the field of psychology and physical education. The result of this study may be used to produce students with a high level of achievement goals in physical education learning at universities.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of participation in a 1-week summer camp on thehopelessness and self-esteem of the university students attending Sport Sciences Faculty. Participants were 36university students assigned to experiment group using a random procedure. Coopersmith Self-esteem and Beck Hopelessness Scales were completed at the beginning and end of the summer camp by designed the university. The obtained data were analysed in the SPSS 18.0 program and the significance level was taken as 0.05. The descriptive statistics, independent simple t test, paired simple t test and Pearson correlation were used for analyse the data in the study. According to the results of the research, no significant difference was observed in the comparison of the hopelessness and self-esteem levels between pre and post-test. In addition, there was a significant difference in the hopelessness level of male and female students but any significant difference was not observed in terms of self-esteem. There was a significant relationship between hopelessness and self-esteem pre and post-test. These result shows that a 1-week summer camp cannot change the hopelessness or self-esteem level. However, as the self-esteem rises, the rate of despair decreases whereas as the despair rises, the selfesteem decreases.

The objective of this research study is to describe the competence perception levels of physical education and sports teachers in integrative practices. The participants of the study were the physical education and sports teachers actively working in Kırşehir province who participated on a voluntary basis. In this research, the survey model was used. In the data collection process of the study, “Personal Information Form” and “Teacher Adequacy Scale in Inclusive Practices” were used. For testing the research data, the significance level was accepted as 0.05. In the analysis of the data, the items of the sub-problem were grouped, and independent samples t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), were used in the scale together with descriptive statistics such as frequency (f), percentage (%), weighted average (X) and standard deviation (SD), and Mann Whitney U and Kruskall Wallis techniques were used for the sub-dimensions. The results of the research demonstrated that physical education and sports teachers have a high level of competence perception in inclusive practices. It was also determined that there was statistically no significant difference among the competence perception levels of teachers in inclusive practices concerning gender, professional experience, working location, and educational status.

Objective: This study aimed to measure the scores of psychoemotional and self-management constructs in patients with rheumatic diseases (RD), to compare these scores according to the RD type and to verify the influence of these measures on self-management in health.Methods: Cross-sectional study, carried out in an ambulatory of a public hospital of Brazil. Adult patients, with diagnosis of RD, responded to self-esteem, anxiety and depression, health and activation scales. Spearman’s correlation tests, independence tests, mean or median tests, multiple linear regressions evaluated the variables of interest at a significance level of .05.Results: Eighty-six patients (mean age = 45.23, SD = 14.30) were evaluated. High activation (mean = 65.83, SD = 14.20) and self-esteem scores (mean = 30.67, SD = 5.65) were observed, while moderate anxiety scores (mean = 8.21, SD = 4.37) and low scores for depression (mean = 6.37, SD = 3.98). Significant correlations were observed, from low to moderate magnitude, among other measures with activation (p < .05). There were weak correlations between activation and formal study time, self-esteem with age and family income, depression and number of comorbidities diagnosed or self-reported (p < .05). The RD type no affects any of the constructs evaluated.Conclusions: It was concluded that patients with rheumatic diseases presented high self-esteem, moderate anxiety levels and low levels of depression and a high level of activation. Lower number of diagnosed comorbities, higher formal study time was related to better self-management in health.

This study examines students thought processes in Physical Education (attention during classes, orientation of target achievement, causal attributions of results, attitudes towards discipline, competence perception, perception of  the discipline’s goal’s, degree of satisfaction towards classes). This study involved 198 students from the 9th grade. Data were collected by use of questionnaires. The results show that students have: i) high levels of attention during classes, ii) a stronger orientation to the ego than to the task; iii) a favorable attitude towards PE iv) a good perception of competence in PE v) a high level of satisfaction regarding PE classes vi) the variables examined did not vary according to students socio-economic background; vii) there are significant differences in ego orientation, competence perception in PE among female students and male students viii) the variables of thought processes are, in general, positively and significantly correlated.

RESUMOObjetivo: investigar a existência de Síndrome do Esgotamento Profissional e Transtornos Mentais Comuns em enfermeiros oncologistas. Método: estudo quantitativo, correlacional, com enfermeiros oncologistas. A coleta de dados utilizou um roteiro semiestruturado e o inventário de Burnout de Maslach e Jackson (Maslach Burnout Inventory-MBI). Resultados: participaram 29 enfermeiros oncologistas, sendo a maioria do sexo feminino, com média de idade 32,6 anos, e a prevalência de Transtornos Mentais Comuns foi de 27,6%. Houve a presença das três dimensões sugestivas de Burnout em 6,9% dos enfermeiros; outros 6,9% em duas dimensões, e 41,4% em, pelo menos, uma dimensão. As variáveis estresse e autoestima apresentaram correlação significativa. Dentre essas dimensões, houve a correlação estatisticamente significativa de uma delas e Transtornos Mentais Comuns. Conclusão: os enfermeiros oncologistas apresentaram alto nível em algumas das dimensões do Burnout. A contribuição deste estudo foi apontar que estes profissionais precisam de medidas de prevenção e resolução da Síndrome do Esgotamento Profissional para auxiliar no enfrentamento dos problemas cotidianos. The Quality of Life and Contentment with the Realisation of Partial Satisfactions of Students from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport in Biała PodlaskaIntroduction. The aim of the work was to define the level of contentment with the realisation of partial satisfactions of female and male 1st-year students from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport in Biala Podlaska, the University of Physical Education in Warsaw (FPES) demonstrating a high or low level of the quality of life. Material and methods. 44 women and 161 men were examined. At the first stage of the research the level of the quality of life was defined with the use of the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS). At the second stage the level of contentment with the realisation of partial satisfactions of people with a high or low level of the quality of life was examined. The level of contentment with partial satisfactions was measured by means of a questionnaire in which partial satisfactions were grouped in 5 categories: social, material, environmental, health and other satisfactions. Statistically significant differences were defined with the use of Pearson's chi-square test (χ2), taking values lower than the significance level p<0.05 as statistically significant. Results. There occur statistically significant differences in the levels of contentment with the realisation of partial satisfactions of female and male students revealing a high or low level of the quality of life. Better material conditions, contentment with the way of spending free time, one's own life achievements and health are conducive to reaching a high level of the quality of life among students. Over 70% of the examined academic youth with a high level of the quality of life perceive their life as great and successful and the conditions in a family as positive. Over 60% of female students and 30% of male students from this group have very strong family bonds. Conclusions. The level of contentment with the realisation of partial satisfactions is connected with the system of values of an individual. Positive and strong family bonds favour a high level of the quality of life. The system of cultural institutions in Biala Podlaska as a university town should be developed more dynamically.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of 8 week static balance exercises on reaction time. 38 sedentary female students voluntarily participated in the study. The volunteers were selected randomly and were separated into 2 groups as the experiment group (n=19) and the control group (n=19). While the experiment group participated in static balance exercises in their physical education lessons for 8 weeks, the control group only participated in the physical education lessons. The visual and auditory reaction times of the samples were carried out with the Newtest 1000 device as pre-test and post-test. The data were evaluated with the SPSS 20.0 statistical software program and since there was no normal distribution, the wilcoxon signed rank test which is one of the non-parametrical tests was carried out and the significance level was determined as p<0.05. The age average of the volunteers (n=38), was determined as 15.8±1,50 years, height averages as 160,3±5,48 cm and body weight averages as 53,33±7,50 kg. As a result of the statistical analysis, it was found that there was no significant differences in either of the groups between the pre-rest and post-test visual and auditory reactions (p>0.05). As a result, it was determined that 8 week balance tests did not affect the visual and auditory reaction times of the female students.

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and peer social support with consumptive behavior using quantitative methods. The research was conducted in senior high school 1 Sunggal. The number of respondents in this study were 169 female students of Senior high school 1 Sunggal with purposive sampling sampling technique. The measuring instrument used in this study is the scale of consumptive behavior, self-esteem scale and peer-scale social support. Based on Spearman rank data analysis obtained a significant level between self-esteem and consumptive behavior with a significant value of 0,000 <0, 05, meaning that there is a partial relationship between self-esteem and consumptive behavior. While the relationship of peer social support with consumptive behavior with a significant value of 0,000 <0, 05. This proves that there is a partial relationship between self-esteem and consumptive behavior. While the significance level of peer social support and self-esteem with consumptive behavior with a significant value of 0,000 <0, 05 are related simultaneously, then the hypothesis in this study is accepted. The correlation between self-esteem and peer-to-peer support with consumptive behavior on female students of senior high school 1 Sunggal is 0.500%. Keywords: Consumptive behavior, self-esteem, peer social support.   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan harga diri dan dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan perilaku konsumtif dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Sunggal. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini adalah 169 siswi SMA Negeri 1 Sunggal. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala perilaku konsumtif, skala harga diri dan skala dukungan sosial teman sebaya. Berdasarkan analisis data rank spearman diperoleh taraf signifikan antara harga diri dengan perilaku konsumtif dengan nilai signifikan 0,000 < 0, 05, artinya membuktikan bahwa terdapat hubungan secara parsial harga diri dengan perilaku konsumtif. Sedangkan hubungan dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan perilaku konsumtif dengan nilai signifikan 0,000 < 0, 05. Hal tersebut membuktikan bahwa terdapat hubungan secara parsial harga diri dengan perilaku konsumtif. Sedangkan taraf signifikasi dukungan sosial teman sebaya dan harga diri  dengan perilaku konsumtif dengan nilai signifikan 0,000 < 0, 05 berhubungan secara simultan, maka hipotesis dalam penelitian ini diterima. Besar korelasi hubungan harga diri dan dukungan sosila teman sebaya dengan perilaku konsumtif pada siswi SMA Negeri 1 Sunggal sebesar 0.500%. Kata Kunci: Perilaku konsumtif, harga diri, dukungan sosial teman sebaya.
