The social changes are the result of societal challenges and are related to profound, sustainable, and non-linear actions and their result on the environment, society, and the individual. The impact of societal changes on human and social behavior is not unequivocal, and its understanding depends on the research methodology. For this paper is applied the phenomenological description - a method that refers to the experience lived in the immediate existential from the perspective of the essence of phenomena. The research data is the result of applying an online questionnaire developed with Google Form on a sample of 158 respondents. The results obtained allow us to describe the impact of societal changes on human and social behavior through the specifics of the phenomenon of “global education”: the diversification of the forms of organization of the educational process; interactive discourse - effective teaching method; prioritization of action methods; the use of audio / video sequences in the teacher’s message; the issue of computerized evaluation; the theme of continuing education courses and the importance of the interactive portal for in-service teachers.

As the transition period from primary to secondary education is difficult for many students, our strive is to study the psychological features, which may scaffold student’s promotion and provide for future successful learning. We consider the educational media to be a complex system of psychological features, which depend on the content of education and the way, in which the educational process is organized. The “activity-and-content oriented” educational media devised after theoretical principles of the Developmental Instruction (Davydov), according to our hypothesis, provides sound bases for primary competencies formation, which are vital for secondary education. To test this assumption, we have diagnosed the quality of reflection, analysis, planning, model-acquisition and model-application, achieved by 204 students from two different educational media (“activity-and-content oriented” and “knowledge oriented”). For assessment purposes two diagnostic tools were used: “Transpositions” and “Moon” test. Both tests exploited contexts, which were unfamiliar to both groups of students. The results show, that students from the “activity-and-content” oriented educational media performed significantly better in most cognitive primary concepts. We consider these findings to support our major hypothesis, that educational media is a powerful source to scaffold students’ primary competencies’ formation, which in its turn provides for successful learning in secondary school.

The problem of adaptation to professional activity among representatives of different generations is acute. Currently, managers understand the need and importance of the adaptation process for new employees. But they do not always take into account the fact that employees belonging to different generations may not only have radically different views on the same problems, but also the process of adaptation may take place in different ways, using different socio-psychological mechanisms of adaptation. Using the example of generation X and generation Y the psychological features that make it possible to pass the adaptation period most effectively have been considered in the article. The most distinctive characteristics of representatives of different generations have been highlighted.
