Proficiency in English is very important for guiding foreign tourists. This study aims to determine the assessment of the English proficiency level of apprentice tour guides by foreign tourists in Prambanan. This study used quantitative data collection methods, namely the distribution of questionnaires consisting of two groups of questions which include: active speaking and listening of which the results are analyzed descriptively. Based on the calculation of the questionnaire score which was then included in the rating scale measurement scale, the results of the study involving 20 respondents showed that foreign tourists rated the English proficiency of the apprentice tour guides considerably high based on the calculation of the questionnaire score and was then included in the Rating Scale measurement scale. The survey results were confirmed by interviews with the foreign tourists and showed that the apprentice tour guides in general are proficient in English that the communication is carried out with ease.

There is a need to identify the client's attitudes about services provided by the occupational therapist. A number of studies are presented to provide a background, help to describe relevant factors, and indicate some data collection methods. The studies show that the concept of surveying clients' views is far from simple; in addition, older clients tend to report more favourably and survey results may not be acted upon by service managers. The production of qualitative and quantitative data is encouraged, together with publishing results both locally and nationally. This can enable clients to become more involved in setting standards, monitoring the progress of a service, and raising the professional profile.

The scale is usually used to check and determine the value of a qualitative factor in quantitative measures. The measurement scale is a management in agreement that is used as a reference to determine the short length of the interval that is in the measuring instrument, so that the measuring instrument when used in measurements will produce quantitative data. The results of the scale management calculation must be interpreted carefully because in addition to producing a rough picture, the respondent's answers are not just straightforward to be trusted. Types of measurement scales: Likert scale, Guttman scale, semantic differential scale, rating scale, Thurstone scale, Borgadus scale, and various other measurement management scales. One of the most difficult jobs for information technology researchers faced with the necessity of measuring variables is: finding directions in the midst of many existing sizes. If there is a good size for a particular variable, it seems that there are not many reasons to compile a new size yourself. Keywords: Scale, Measurement, Variables.

Destination image is among the most studied constructs in tourism research. Many researchers are still convinced that the rating scale method is the most accurate for assessing destination image. This study presents alternative methods of data collection, namely, free-sorting and reduced paired comparisons, and investigates their applicability in a Web-based environment. The study then subjects these data collection methods to empirical analysis and compares the judgment task’s effects on perceived difficulty, fatigue, and boredom, on data quality, and on perceptual maps derived with MDS. The findings demonstrate that these methods are more accurate whenever a large number of objects have to be judged, which is particularly the case for positioning and competitiveness studies.

This chapter describes the Teacher Fellows Program. This program is a school/university partnership that has provided comprehensive mentoring and induction support to more than 400 teachers over the past 20 years. The program is grounded in social-constructivist, cognitive-developmental and teacher development theories. Both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods have been used to determine the program's effectiveness over time. Results from analyses of the data indicate the program (a) improves teacher retention, (b) increases teacher effectiveness, (c) fosters collaboration between the university and public schools, and (d) impacts student learning.

In this article the status of teaching as a profession and the morale of teachers in Australian schools in the current era provide a framework for the examination of the intent and outcomes of teaching excellence awards. The research study applied an interpretive research paradigm and used both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods. The methodology and the theoretical framework were based on organisational and sociological paradigms. Data informing the study were collected from 44 award recipients and 57 of their colleagues between the years 2000 and 2002. Documentation relating to the promotion and process of awards was also examined. The introduction of teaching excellence awards into the school education sector is found to be a reflection of the economic era in which the current education system is situated. The paper concludes that the awards process may be potentially politically manipulative.

The proliferation of Pasar Minggu  in Bandung, especially in the area of Bandung Timur raises some positive and negative impacts. Among the negative impacts is the traffic jam, a heap of waste generated from trade activity, and environmental conditions were filthy and chaotic. If this is allowed to continue, the growth in the market on this week could be growing uncontrollably. As an initial study, it is necessary to explore the factors causing the Pasar Minggu in The Bandung Timur Region. Thereby expect to further of this research can be structured strategies to minimize the negative impact of market developments this week. Selected two sites in  Bandung Timur Region namely Metro Region-Margahayu Raya and Jalan Ibrahim Adjie corridor area. The method used is descriptive quantitative data collection methods to survey the secondary data and the primary to the field using a questionnaire and interviews. Found the factors causing the Pasar Minggu in the Bandung Timur Region include: low cost of regular payments, a strategic location near the settlements, ease of transportation to reach the area of trade, traders generally stay not far away from the Sunday market, and the turnover of earning is big enough.

This chapter discusses data collection methods and strategies in quantitative research and how researchers design their studies following quantitative approaches. The chapter consists of four sections. The first section discusses experimental and non-experimental designs for quantitative research and the steps that are taken to achieve a more effective inquiry and valid findings. The second and third sections of the chapter discuss the quantitative data collection methods and sampling procedures of quantitative projects, respectively. The chapter is then concluded by examining the significance of reliability and validity concepts in quantitative projects. The chapter has also provided relevant examples and critical thinking challenges for enhanced understanding.

Quantitative data seems so clean and clear. On the face of it numbers give you facts that you cannot argue against. This paper explores my experiences as a fieldworker in the business of collecting for these numbers. It gives an account of my thoughts and feelings while undertaking a brief to act as a “vessel” an inanimate object, whose sole purpose is to collect the messy debris of human data and facilitate the processes of transforming them into a numerate form. Drawing on Fine's “working the hyphens” (Fine 1994) it challenges the notion of objectivity and the prospect of producing accurate quantitative data without some qualitative input. It questions the ethics of placing monetary constraints on the sharp end of research, and asks whether some data collection methods are as transparent as they purport to be. Finally it asks whether any funded body can live up to claims of neutrality.

In Bolaang Mongondow Regency, locally –generated revenue is still considered low and has not a significant increase. One of the SKPD producing PAD is the Tourism and Culture Office. In 2018, Tourism and Culture Office has not yet reached the target. This study aims to: (1) analyze the causes of revenue realization that does not reach the target, and (2) analyze the effectiveness of revenue performance. The research method used is quantitative descriptive. The type of data used qualitative is an explanation of interviews and quantitative data in a budget realization reports and ticket inventory reports for 2016-2018. Data collection methods used interview and documentation. The results showed, the factors causing the realization of revenue that did not reach the target due to the excessively high income target charged to the Office, while managed revenue sources were very limited. The effectiveness of the performance shows, in 2016 and 2017 are very effective category which reached 113.29% and 102.93%. While in 2018, included ineffective category that is 69.92%. It is recommended that the Office further optimizes its financial management so that it focuses on adding new tourism objects so that whatever targets are set can be achieved and can increase the effectiveness of its revenue performance.
