Biomimicry is the study of natural structures, mechanisms and ecosystems to create more ecologically sustainable designs. It plays a vital role in searching for new tools and techniques to solve human problems by adopting natural phenomena. Many experts now view nature through biomimicry for motivation with its instinctive ability for sustainability and proven flexibility to interruption. Biomimetics is not a recent trend; the idea of looking into nature for inspiration is in practice for a long time. Human innovations have borrowed from nature throughout history. Essential elements of biomimicry are ethos, emulate and reconnect. Philosophies of biomimicry emphasise nature’s features, thereby implying that humans have much to learn from nature with evolutionary knowledge. Biomimicry is a modelling tool; the design process is usually divided into two categories; biology to design and challenge to biology. Research folk imitate natural phenomena in three levels viz., form, process, and ecosystem level. Nowadays, biomimicry is used in almost every field, from architecture to computer science. Biomimicry can help with structural quality, water efficiency, zero-waste systems, the thermal atmosphere and energy supply. Fluid-drag-reduction swimsuits inspired by the structure of shark skin, velcro fasteners inspired by burrs, aeroplane shapes inspired by the appearance of birds and stable building systems inspired by termite mounds, honeycombs, and other biomimetic experiments are only a few examples.

The article surveys the literature that emphasizes the importance of comparative and absolute advantages for intra- and inter-industry trade. Two conclusions follow form the survey. First, unlike the traditional view, intra-industry trade is determined rather by technology than by increasing returns. Second, absolute advantages that have been ignored in international trade models for a long time play a vital role through their linkages with product quality and export diversification. We also discuss a new strand of literature that models international trade with the assumption of non-homothetic preferences.

: Intercapillary research in mathematics and other pure sciences areas has always helped humanity quantify natural phenomena. This article also contributes to which valency-based topological indices are implemented on tetrahedral sheets of clay minerals. These indices have been used for a long time and are considered the most powerful tools to quantify chemical graphs. The atoms in the chemical compound and the bonds between the atoms are depicted as the graph’s vertices and edges, respectively. The valency (or degree) of a vertex in a graph is the number of edges incident to that vertex. In this article, various degree-based indices and their modifications are determined to check each types’ significance.

Narrative advertisements (i.e. ads that resemble short films that include characters, drama, and plot structure) are increasingly popular on TV and on the Internet. As in almost any film, music can play a vital role in the experience and impact of narrative ads. This chapter identifies psychological transportation as an important mediator between music and persuasion by narrative ads. Transportation refers to a strong emotional and cognitive involvement in the ad, a sense of being “lost” in the narrative. Previous studies show that transportation plays a mediating role in various aspects of persuasion, such as changing viewers’ beliefs, attitudes, and even behavior. This chapter begins with an overview of the literature on psychological transportation, focusing on its essential elements, moderating factors, and consequences for persuasion. The author then discusses the intriguing possibility that music plays an important role in promoting psychological transportation into narrative ads and reviews initial experimental evidence supporting this idea. Special attention will be paid to the role of “moving” (i.e. intensely emotional and chills-evoking) music, as it appears to be particularly effective in eliciting psychological transportation. Finally, the chapter closes with some enduring questions to be addressed in future studies.

In today's world everything is connected and is either consuming data or generating data. The world is changing so fast that even one-year-old data may not be useful, and hence, big data analysis plays a very vital role for higher management of any organizations for decision making. Data warehousing helps in gathering and storing verifiable information into a single entity. Data can be of different types like speech, text, etc. It can be structured or unstructured. Each data point is characterized in terms of volume or variety. This chapter gives an overview of how to utilize the learner interaction data from a particular website and how patterns can be captured by analyzing learner interaction data with big data analytic tools. Big data has risen in the field of education and has many challenges like storage, combining, analysis, and scalability of big data. It covers tools and techniques that can be used. The results from this study will have implications for new learners to the e-learning website, website designers, and academicians.

Tools and techniques that have been developed during the last 40 years in the field of fuzzy set theory (FST) have been applied quite successfully in a variety of application areas. A prominent example of the practical usefulness of corresponding techniques is fuzzy control, where the idea is to represent the input-output behaviour of a controller (of a technical system) in terms of fuzzy rules. A concrete control function is derived from such rules by means of suitable inference techniques. While aspects of knowledge representation and reasoning have dominated research in FST for a long time, problems of automated learning and knowledge acquisition have more and more come to the fore in recent years. There are several reasons for this development, notably the following: Firstly, there has been an internal shift within fuzzy systems research from “modelling” to “learning”, which can be attributed to the awareness that the well-known “knowledge acquisition bottleneck” seems to remain one of the key problems in the design of intelligent and knowledge-based systems. Secondly, this trend has been further amplified by the great interest that the fields of knowledge discovery in databases (KDD) and its core methodical component, data mining, have attracted in recent years. It is hence hardly surprising that data mining has received a great deal of attention in the FST community in recent years (Hüllermeier, 2005). The aim of this chapter is to give an idea of the usefulness of FST for data mining. To this end, we shall briefly highlight, in the next but one section, some potential advantages of fuzzy approaches. In preparation, the next section briefly recalls some basic ideas and concepts from FST. The style of presentation is purely non-technical throughout; for technical details we shall give pointers to the literature.

This article reflects about the effective and concrete learning of mathematics with the help of self-devised innovative activities, worksheets, project experiments and teaching aids. The present research shows if maximum participation of students is ensured -either in the mathematics laboratory activities or class room interactive questioning sessions like that of quiz- is really joyful learning of the subject. `Learning by doing` is very effective methodology in teaching learning process as the experience gained meticulously (Krockover, 1997). It remains permanently fixed in the minds of the children. Thus, innovative teaching aids and projects of mathematic laboratory plays a vital role in the conceptualization process. Some researchers emphasize on the children`s experience of school education that must be linked with the life outside the school. It brings joyful experience in the learning. Keeping this in mind, several opportunities are provided to students to construct their systematic knowledge by engaging them in activities, experiment, field visits, discussion with peers and teachers, group works, brainstorming sessions, collecting information from different sources, inquiring, listening, thinking and so on. The students are encouraged and allowed to share and explain their ideas and ask, pose and frame questions. Appropriate innovative tools and techniques are applied depending on the situation and requirement.

Ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury is a common pathological process, which may lead to dysfunctions and failures of multiple organs. A flawless medical way of endogenous therapeutic target can illuminate accurate clinical applications. γ-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) has been known as a marker in I/R injury of the central nervous system (mainly in the brain) for a long time, and it may play a vital role in the occurrence of I/R injury. It has been observed that throughout cerebral I/R, levels, syntheses, releases, metabolisms, receptors, and transmissions of GABA undergo complex pathological variations. Scientists have investigated the GABAergic enhancers for attenuating cerebral I/R injury; however, discussions on existing problems and mechanisms of available drugs were seldom carried out so far. Therefore, this review would summarize the process of pathological variations in the GABA system under cerebral I/R injury and will cover corresponding probable issues and mechanisms in using GABA-related drugs to illuminate the concern about clinical illness for accurately preventing cerebral I/R injury. In addition, the study will summarize the increasing GABA signals that can prevent I/R injuries occurring in peripheral organs, and the roles of GABA were also discussed correspondingly.

Representation or coding of the molecular graphs with the help of numerical numbers plays a vital role in the studies of physicochemical and structural properties of the chemical compounds that are involved in the molecular graphs. For the first time, the modified first Zagreb connection index appeared in the paper by Gutman and Trinajstic (1972) to compute total electron energy of the alternant hydrocarbons, but after that, for a long time, it has not been studied. Recently, Ali and Trinajstic (2018) restudied the first Zagreb connection index ZC1, the second Zagreb connection index ZC2, and the modified first Zagreb connection index ZC1∗ to find entropy and acentric factor of the octane isomers. They also reported that the values provided by the International Academy of Mathematical Chemistry show better chemical capability of the Zagreb connection indices than the ordinary Zagreb indices. Assume that S1 and S2 denote the operations of subdivision and semitotal point, respectively. Then, the S-sum graphs Q1+QS2 are obtained by the cartesian product of SQ1 and Q2, where S∈S1,S2, Q1andQ2 are any connected graphs, and SQ1 is a graph obtained after applying the operation S on Q1. In this paper, we compute the Zagreb connection indices (ZC1, ZC2, and ZC1∗) of the S-sum graphs in terms of various topological indices of their factor graphs. At the end, as an application of the computed results, the Zagreb connection indices of the S-sum graphs obtained by the particular classes of alkanes are also included.

Plants are very important for proper human nutrition, so the content of essential elements was investigated in two poppy species. Essential elements such as Ca, Na, K, Mg, Fe, Cu, Co, Mn, Mo and Zn play a vital role in various biological processes. Samples of roots, stems, leaves and seeds of Papaver rhoeas L. and Papaver somniferum were acid dissolved and analyzed by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES). The highest concentration of Ca was contained in leaf samples ML1 and ML2 with values of 38618.90 and 33320.15 mg/kg, the root of Papaver rhoeas L. had the highest concentration of Na with a value of 1651.07 mg/kg, while the leaf had the highest concentration of Mg of 4400.04 mg/kg. The leaf Papaver somniferum contains the highest concentration of K with a value of 61595.90 mg/kg, the root samples MK1 and MK2, both poppies had the highest Fe of 1254.21 and 1620.16 mg/kg. Seeds of both poppies, Papaver rhoeas L. and Papaver somniferum, contain the highest concentration of Cu with values of 30.57 and 22.20 mg/kg, Mn with values of 71.99 and 58.10 mg/kg and Zn with values of 76.99 and 82.09 mg/kg. The Co content in all samples was low.

The acceleration of change, global economy and the business challenges has made organizations to think and integrate diverse competitive strategies in to the system. There has been an increasing emphasis on buyer-supplier relationships in the academic community and in the international business to improve competitiveness and profitability of organizations by proposing different strategies, organizational structure, system, tools and techniques for how to select the right partner, establish the proper relationship and adapt adequately to the internal and external changes. Moreover, the system has witnessed a transformation in which suppliers and customers are inextricably linked throughout the entire sequence of supply chain. This paper aims to develop the buyer-supplier typology for strategic archetypes of contractual relationships. The typology reflects a buyer perspective ranging from arm's length relationship to strategic partnerships and represents a supplier segmentation tool which helps identify what types of competence and capability relate to each individual sourcing practice. The paper includes the comprehensive study of current state of the art of the survey based empirical research on sourcing practices and supplier selection, as they play a vital role in managing supply chain.
