Introduction: Hypertension is a degenerative disease that causes changes in the elderly so it will affect the quality of life of the elderly. One effort to improve the health status and quality of life of the elderly is maintaining health conditions with activities. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of physical activity and the quality of life of elderly patients with hypertension in the working area of the Hambawang Beach Health Center. Method: This study used correlation with the cross sectional design approach. Respondents numbered 56 elderly taken in total sampling. The research instruments were PASE questionnaire and WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. Data analysis used chi square test. Results:There was a relationship of physical activity with the quality of life of elderly people with hypertension (p = 0,000). Odds Ratio value of 49,5 means that elderly who have less physical activity are 49,5 times more likely to have a poor quality of life of the elderly compared to good physical activity of the elderly. Discussion: Good physical activity can improve the quality of life of the elderly. It was recommended to the elderly to do physical activities such as walking and doing sports.

Background: Health practitioners around the world are now dealing withincreasing health problems, including oral disease. One of them is tooth loss.Losing teeth can cause problems or disturbances in the main functions of teeth(mastication, aesthetics and phonetics). These conditions can be overcome byusing denture. If the loss of untreated teeth doesnt restored using denture, it will cause the function of the missing tooth can not be restored, which will result in disruption of nutritional status and quality of life of the elderly. This study aimed to determine the relationship of tooth loss with nutritional status in elderly society in the Penatahan village Penebel Tabanan. Methods: The research was an observational analytic study with cross sectionalresearch design. Total sampling used with total sample 109 people. The datawere collected by filling the dental chart, measuring IMT and interview using theOHIP-14 questionnaire. Results: The results showed 65.1% respondents had loss <6 teeth, 42.2%respondents had obesity, 75.2% respondents observed poor quality of life. Dataanalyzed using kolmogorov smirnov obtained p = 0,952 for relationship betweentooth loss with nuturional status and p = 0.676 for relationship between useof denture with nutritional status. Chi square used to test relationship betweentooth loss with quality of life (p= 0,735) and use of denture with quality of lifeshowed p = 0,139.Conclusions: The conclusion is there is no relationship between tooth lossand use of denture with nutritional status and quality of life in elderly society inPenatahan Village Penebel Tabanan

ABSTRACT                Diabetes mellitus is a non-communicable disease whose prevalence continues to increase in the world, both in developed and developing countries. Physical activity is also a major risk factor in triggering Diabetes Mellitus. This study aims to determine the relationship of physical activity with the quality of life of elderly people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The research method used is descriptive analytic with cross sectional design. The sampling technique in this research is purposive sampling with 58 samples. The instrument used in this study was a GPAQ physical activity questionnaire and quality of life using a WHOQOL questionnaire. The statistical test used is the chi square test. The results showed the majority with low activity of 23 elderly (38.6%) and the quality of life of the majority of good elderly totaling 30 elderly (51.7%) obtained p value of 0.001 <0.05 then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted and can be conclusions that there is a significant relationship between physical activity with the quality of life of elderly people with diabetes mellitus type II. As health workers are expected to provide education to the community, especially in the elderly about physical activity one of them is elderly exercise, because of good physical activity and regularly provide benefits for the body, especially for people with Diabetes Mellitus type 2.   Keywords: Physical Activity; Quality of life; Elderly; Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus ABSTRAK Diabetes mellitus merupakan salah satu penyakit tidak menular yang prevalensinya terus mengalami peningkatan didunia, baik dinegara maju maupun negara berkembang. Introduction: The global population is aging, and the number of elderly people continues to increase worldwide. The increase in the elderly population is followed by an increase in problems due to degenerative processes that have an impact on the quality of life of the elderly. Several factors that affect the quality of life of the elderly include physical activity, functional abilities, and depression. Methodology: The study design was cross-sectional. Based on the quota sampling in East Jakarta, 180 elderly were selected as the sample. WHOQOL-BREF was used to measured quality of life of independent variables. GPAQ, IADL-Barthel Index, GDS were used to measure dependent variables of physical activity, functional ability and depression, respectively. The Data collection method was an interview using a questionnaire. Data analysis includes univariate and bivariate analysis using Chi-Square test and multivariate analysis using Logistic Statistics test using Enter method. Results: Most of the elderly have a good quality of life (77.2%). There was a significant corellation between physical activity, functional ability, depression and the quality of life of the elderly. The most important factor was physical activity and the P values and OR were 0.014 and OR 3.409, respectively after being controlled by the variables of functional ability and depression. Conclusion: The finding indicated physical activity was the key factor of quality of life. In order to support elderly to exercise regularly and safely, cooperation between local governments, communities, and families is needed to develop interesting exercise/leisure sport programs and provide support facilities for the elderly. INTRODUCTION: Ageing has become a huge public health challenge due to the need to find solutions for improving quality of life. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to assess quality of life, muscle strength, balance and physical capacity among elderly practitioners and non-practitioners of physical activity. MATERIALS AND METHODS: An observational, cross-sectional study was carried out involving 74 elderly individuals in the city of Santos (state of São Paulo, Brazil), divided into two groups: practitioners and non-practitioners of physical activity. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire was used for the classification of the participants. The generic SF-36 questionnaire was used to assess quality of life. The Berg scale was used for the analysis of balance. Dynamometry was used for the muscle strength test. The six-minute walk test was used for the assessment of physical capacity. RESULTS: Significant differences were found between elderly practitioners and non-practitioners of physical activity regarding quality of life (p = 0.001), muscle strength (p = 0.001), balance (p = 0.001) and physical capacity (p = 0.001). The data also showed that aspects of quality of life were strongly correlated with physical capacity among the non-practitioners of physical activity (r = 0.741). CONCLUSION: Elderly individuals in the city of Santos (Brazil) who practice physical activity have better quality of life, muscle strength, physical capacity and balance in comparison to those who do not practice physical activity.
