Speech Acts Variation in Social Media Instagram @punapibali

This research aims to examine the speech act functions found on Instagram @punapibali and describe the types of speech acts used by the informant and news writer. Thus, this study was conducted using the qualitative descriptive method and by using the pragmatics fundamentals proposed by Wijana (1996) and the speech act function theory of Searle (1979) as the basis for examining the speech act functions used by the informant and news writer according to its type. The data were collected through the observation method accompanied by an act of scrutinizing speeches and sentences of the informant and news writer @punapibali. The oral data were collected from the conversations use to know the intonation and tone of the speech delivered. The data analysis results are presented descriptively. The results of data analysis showed there are 40 types of speech acts used in the caption of Instagram @punapibali. The expressive function is manifested in the act of asking for an apology, thanking someone, and congratulating someone. The directive function includes the act of asking, suggesting, advising, and urging. The commissive function includes expressing abilities and promising. The assertive function includes notifying, affirming, and stating. The declarative function is manifested in the act of declaration.

Language is foremost a means of communication used by people to convey their ideas and feelings to others when they talk directly or indirectly. Current phenomenon is common in society the code switching used by individuals who live in a bilingual or multilingual community in which the code switching can occur. The researcher chooses one of Malinau students in Lamongan. Her name is "Siti Bakhiatus Sholikhah" Faculty of Fisheries, Lamongan Islamic University, on eighth semester.The purpose of this study is to find out the types of code switching and find out the functions of code switching used by Malinau Student in Lamongan. This study examines the types of code switching that occurred during the conversations used by Malinau Students in Lamongan. The research design of this study is using qualitative descriptive method. The collection technique of the data is from of recording and chatting in social media : like a WhatsApp and Facebook from “Lika’s” talks. The data analysis techniques used found that are preparing, reading and undesrtanding, coding and classifying, interpreting and drawing te conclusion. From this data found the types and functions of code switching are analyzed by using the theory of Poplack’s and Apple and Muysken. From the results of analysis, three types of code switching (tag switching, inter-sentential switching and intra-sentential switching) and four functions of code switching are (referential function of code switching, directive function of code switching, expressive function of code switching and metalinguistic function of code switching). AbstractViolation of the speech maxim in the Presidential Candidates Election Debate of theRepublic of indonesia In 2019.This research was aimed at describing the forms of violationof the speech act maxim and describing the functions of violationofspeech act maxim in thepresidential candidate election debate of the Republic of Indonesia in 2019. This research wasqualitative, and conducted by using the descriptive method. The soutce of data was thePresidential Candidate Election Debate of the Republic of Indonesia in 2019. The researchresults of speech maxim violation in the Presidential Candidate Election Debate of theRepublic of Indonesia in 2019 consist of 5 research problems, which are: (1) the form ofquantity of maxim violation, (2) the form of quality of maxim violation, (3) the form of relevanceof maxim violation, (4) the form of method of maxim violation, and (5) the functions of speechacts of maxim violation. The form of quantity maxim violation consists of statements containinganswers that comprise the information needed. The form of quality maxim violation consists ofstatements that contain answers which are less convincing, and contain answers which aresimilar or agree to the questions, and also contain answers which the evidence is not true. Theform of relevance maxim violation consists of statements which contain answers that are notrelevance with the questions and contain the contents of the correct answer but are notrelevance. The form of method maxim violation consists of statements which containambiguous answers, and contain long and wordy answers. The function of the speech acts hasfour functions: Representative function which consists of statements of affirmation, conclusion,and facts. Expressive function consists of statements of praise, difficulty, happiness, andmisery. Wujud pelanggaran maksim kuantitas terdiri daripernyataan yang mengandung jawaban yang melebihi informasi yang dibutuhkan. Wujudpelanggaran maksim kualitas berupa pernyataan yang mengandung jawaban yang kurangmeyakinkan, mengandung jawaban yang sama atau sependapat, dan mengandung jawabanyang bukti kebenarannya tidak benar. Wujud pelanggaran maksim relevansi terdiri daripernyataan yang mengandung jawaban yang tidak sesuai dengan pertanyaan, danmengandung isi jawaban yang benar tapi tidak sesuai. Wujud pelanggaran maksim cara terdiridari pernyataan yang mengandung jawaban yang ambigu, dan mengandung jawaban panjanglebar, bertele-tele. Fungsi tindak tutur memiliki empat fungsi yaitu: Fungsi representatif yangterdiri dari pernyataan penegasan, kesimpulan, fakta. This study aims to examine the speech act functions found in the “Critical Eleven” film and reveal the conversational implicatures used by the film actors. To actualise this aims, this study was conducted using qualitative research designs and by making the speech act theory of (Levinson, 1983) and the speech act function theory of Searle (1979) as the basis for examining the speech act functions in the said film according to its type. The data were collected using the simak method, a method similar to observation one accompanied by an act of scrutinizing speeches of the actors in the film “Critical Eleven”. The oral data were collected from the conversations then transcribed into written data. The data analysis result are presented informally or descriptively. The results of data analysis showed there are five speech act functions in the film, namely representative, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative. The representative function is manifested in the act of giving witness, acknowledging, and stating. The directive one includes the act of asking, and urging. Commissive function includes expressing abilities and promising. Expressive function includes blaming, praising, and congratulating. Declarative function is manifested in the act of prohibiting. Examining the function and meaning of speech acts in the film “Critical Eleven” from the perspective of sociolinguistics is an important topic to raise in further research.

This research discussed about the analysis of speech act used in the Grown Ups movie. This research revealed the types of speech act that found in the Grown Ups during the movie. The researcher applied the qualitative descriptive method because it was dealt with the description analysis by using words. Observation method used to collect the data. The researcher chose this movie because it was popular in the 20’s century and there were many speech acts reflected in this movie. As the result, it was found that were 30 utterances of speech acts in Grown Ups movie. From the 30 data that researcher collected, the main characters most expressed the types of speech act. They are 6 locutionary acts, 15 illocutionary acts, and 9 perlocutionary. Based all the data above, it can be concluded the most used speech act found in this data was illocutionary act. The next was perlocutionary act. Then the last was locutionary act.

The discussion of this research is about the types of speech acts in the socialization of Covid-19 vaccination on social media which are closely related to linguistic pragmatics. The type of speech act from a pragmatic point of view is language behavior that has rules that agreed by the speaker and the speech partner. Since the beginning of the 2020 period until the beginning of 2021, Ridwan Kamil as the regional head and public figure has participated in the socialization of the Covid-19 vaccination. Social media is an effective forum for disseminating information, notification, or invitations for everyone to support the success of Covid-19 vaccination socialization. Even Ridwan Kamil used social media for these activities. The purpose of this study is to describe Ridwan Kamil's speech forms that adhere to Leech's maxims of politeness principles, as well as the function of politeness in Searle's (1969) language. The method of data collection is observing with the note-taking technique. The data analysis method uses data triangulation. The findings of this study indicate that from 155 speech data of Ridwan Kamil in the socialization of Covid-19 vaccination, six maxims of politeness principles are met, namely the Maxim of Wisdom, Maxim of Generosity, Maxim of Praise, Maxim of Humility, Maxim of Approval and Maxim of Sympathy; and has five speech functions Representative, Directive function, Commissive function, Expressive function and Declarative function. Abstrak Pembahasan penelitian ini tentang jenis tindak tutur dalam sosialisasi vaksinasi Covid-19 di media sosial yang berhubungan erat dengan pragmatik linguistik. Jenis tindak tutur dari sudut pandang pragmatik merupakan tingkah laku berbahasa yang memiliki aturan yang disepakati penutur dan mitra tutur. Sejak awal periode tahun 2020 hingga awal tahun 2021 ini, Ridwan Kamil sebagai kepala daerah dan figur publik turut serta dalam sosialisasi vaksinasi Covid-19. Penggunaan media sosial menjadi wadah yang efektif untuk menyebarkan informasi, himbauan, ataupun ajakan untuk turut menyukseskan sosialisasi vaksinasi Covid-19. Pun dengan Ridwan Kamil yang menggunakan media sosial untuk kegiatan tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini mendeskripsikan bentuk tuturan Ridwan Kamil yang mematuhi maksim prinsip kesantunan Leech, serta fungsi kesantunan berbahasa Searle (1969). Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data yakni metode simak dengan teknik catat. Metode analisis data menggunakan triangulasi data. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari 155 data tuturan Ridwan kamil dalam sosialisasi vaksinasi Covid-19 memenuhi enam maksim prinsip kesantunan yaitu Maksim Kebijaksanaan, Maksim Kedermawanan, Maksim Pujian, Maksim Kerendahan Hati, Maksim Persetujuan dan Maksim Kesimpatian; dan memiliki lima fungsi tuturan Representatif, fungsi Direktif, fungsi Komisif, fungsi Ekspresif dan fungsi Deklaratif.

This qualitative descriptive research aims to describe the functions of the verbal reaction or speech utterances that was spoken by MA (Mpok Atiek). The verbal reactions or speech utterances are analyzed through the theory of Searle (1996) which is applied to describe the functions of those verbal reactions. In collecting the data, this research used the non-participated observation method. Then, at the data analysis step, this research used qualitative research method with three steps of activity, they were data reduction, data analyzing, and make a conclusion/ verification. After that, every utterances or verbal reaction of MA when she had been in hyperekplexia were categorized into five functions of utterances. The results of data analysis were described based on the findings. The source of data in this research was taken from the videos of MA in Youtube and the data were the utterances or the verbal expression of MA when she had been in Hyperekplexia. Based on the data analysis, the reaction of verbal hyperekplexia of MA is dominated by utterances which have expressive function because they showed how the psychological condition of someone with hyperekplexia when they got shocked. Besides that, it was also found that some of them have assertive, directive, and commissive functions.

An illocutionary act is a speech act that is usually identified by explicit performative sentences. The research on illocutionary acts in vlogs is an action that shows the meaning of speech during communication. This study aims to describe illocutionary acts on Fiersa Besari's vlog YouTube channel Jangan Lupa Senyum Part 1 along with its speech function. The method used in this research is the descriptive method. The form of research used here is qualitative research. The data source in this study is the vlog Jangan Lupa Senyum Part 1 on the Fiersa Besari YouTube channel. The data in this study are transcripts of conversations between characters in vlogs. Data collection techniques in research using the observation method and note-taking techniques. The findings in the research in this vlog were only 15 utterances of illocutionary speech acts. From the 15 utterances, 7 data on assertive illocutionary acts, 2 directive illocutionary acts, and 7 expressive illocutionary acts. From this research, it is expected that we can understand the function of illocutionary acts that are relevant to everyday life

AbstrakArtikel ini membahas satu jenis strategi penerjemahan yang berfokus pada penerjemahan pada level kata yang bersifat non-equivalent menurut Mona Baker. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan jenis strategi penerjemahan apa saja dalam taksonomi tersebut yang diaplikasikan pada penerjemahan kata-kata non-equivalent yang ditemukan pada novel-novel Indonesia sebagai bahasa sumber ke dalam bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa sasaran; dan juga untuk mengidentifikasi apakah pesan yang terdapat pada kata-kata bersifat non-equivalent pada bahasa sumber tersampaikan sama pada bahasa sasaran. Metode yang digunakan untuk membahas aplikasi strategi penerjemahan ini adalah metode kualitatif-komparatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kata-kata yang bersifat non-equivalent diterjemahkan dengan menggunakan 7 dari 8 strategi penerjemahan yang ada dan secara keseluruhan strategi penerjemahan untuk kata non-equivalent mampu menyampaikan pesan yang terdapat pada kata-kata non-equivalent tersebut meskipun tidak semua secara detil.Kata kunci: strategi penerjemahan, kata non-equivalent, strategi penerjemahan Mona Baker AbstractSpeech act is the activity of uttering speech with a specific purpose. Research on speech acts has been done by many researchers before, but the number is still limited that reviewed the speech acts during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study discussed the types of speech acts on Instagram social media during the Covid-19 period. This study used a pragmatic approach with Searle's speech act theory (1979). The method used is descriptive qualitative. Based on the results of data analysis, researcher found that 3 types of speech acts, namely 1) Directive speech acts with the implicature of persuading and encouraging; 2) Representative speech acts with the implicature of commanding and challenging; 3) Expressive speech acts with the implicature of encouraging.Keywords: Covid-19, Pragmatic, Speech act

This study aims to describe the language variation phenomena in the form of indoglish and idiolect in the Girl Squad public figures on Instagram social media. This research is qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study are in the form of captions or written expressions on Girl Squad’s Instagram uploads. Data sources were obtained from public social media Instagram of Girl Squad member figures. Data collection techniques are collected through documentation, listening, and note-taking. Data analysis was carried out in the interactive study by classifying data taken in written expressions on the Instagram caption of Girl Squad members who then organized and concluded indoglish languages and Idioms. The result of this study indicates the indoglish phenomenon that occurs in the upload of written expressions on the public Instagram figure of Girl Squad. Also, idiolect was found in several public members of the Girl Squad figure. Indoglish language patterns found include (1) prefix insertions, (2) suffix insertions, and (3) pronouns. Idiolect language patterns found include (1) word emphasis, (2) adaptation, (3) creation or formation of new words, and (4) contemporary language.

The case of increasing the corona-virus cluster circulating on social media has reaped various responses from netizens. The research objectives: (1) Determine the form of speech acts in netizens’ responses towards the Covid-19 pandemic text (2) Describe the content in netizens’ responses towards the Covid-19 pandemic text. The research data are in the form of sentences (speech acts) and sentences containing the substance or content of the netizens’ responses. Data sources are as many as 180 netizens’ responses on Instagram and Facebook. The data are collected by reading and taking notes of techniques. The method of data analysis is using a distribution method which is dividing the elements directly and the equivalent method with pragmatic techniques. The results: First, speech acts in netizens’ responses as locutionary acts, illocutionary acts, and perlocutionary acts.
