The relationships between aggressive behaviors, peer pressure, parental attitudes, and gender among 202 students from different public high schools were investigated in this study. Three scales were employed. Following the calculation of the correlation coefficients among the scores, a significant and positive relationship between the aggressiveness scores and the peer pressure, authoritarian and protective parental attitudes scores, and a significant and negative relationship between the aggressiveness scores and the democratic parental attitudes scores were found. Regression analysis was employed to see if the variables of peer pressure and parental attitudes predict the aggressiveness scores, and indicated that democratic parental attitudes, peer pressure and protective parental attitudes are the predictors of aggressiveness. Furthermore, the difference between the female and male students' aggressiveness score means was tested by using t test, and it was established that male students were more aggressive than were female students.

Understanding the concept is one important factor in the purpose of learning mathematics. Understanding concepts is the ability of students in mastering a concept both in explaining and applying a concept in problem solving or problem solving. Personality plays a role in the learning process of students this is because the attitude of each individual in making decisions is influenced by habits. Personality and gender differences can allow differences in understanding of concepts. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the aim to describe the understanding of the quadrilateral concept of students in terms of extrovert-introvert personality types and gender. In this study four junior high school students were chosen as subjects determined by extrovert-introvert personality types and gender. Data collection instruments used consisted of mathematics ability tests, MBTI personality questionnaires, quadrilateral understanding of concept material tests and interview guidelines. The results of this study indicate (a) Extroverted male students are less able to restate the quadrilateral concept, and less able to use and utilize and choose procedures or operations to solve quadrilateral problems (b) Extroverted female students are less able to restate the quadrilateral concept, less able to calcify quadrilateral based on appropriate traits, and less able to use and utilize and choose procedures or operations to solve quadrilateral problems (c) Introverted male students are less able to restate the quadrilateral concept, less able to calcify rectangles based on appropriate traits, ( d) Introverted female students are less able to calcify quadrilateral based on appropriate traits. The implication of the results of this study is the understanding of the concepts in each personality of both men and women need to be considered.   Keywords: Understanding of concepts, quadrilateral, ekstrovert-introvert and gender.

The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of students’ grade levels, gender, and interaction between the two on mathematics motivation. In addition, the relationship between students’ various types of mathematics motivation and achievement were examined. Four hundred twenty four elementary school students (186 boys and 238 girls), 588 middle school students (296 boys and 292 girls), and 276 high school students (154 boys and 122 girls) completed the MMS. The findings of this study showed that all types of motivation in mathematics steadily decreased with grade advancement (elementary through high school) with the exception of introjected regulation. Moreover, results indicated a significant gender difference in each type of mathematics motivation, exception regarding intrinsic motivation, where the difference was not significant. In addition, the interaction between grade levels and gender was significant only in students’ introjected regulation; the differences in intrinsic, external regulation, and amotivation were consistent between males and females in different grade levels. Finally, the results revealed a significant relationship between all types of motivation and mathematics achievement as well as overall academic achievement.

Smoking is common among youths due to the increasing pace of modernization. It is also a major public health problem worldwide, causing preventable deaths and giving socio-economic burdens to society. Despite strict surveillance and the Tobacco Control Act of Bhutan, Bhutanese youths are increasingly found smoking. However, Bhutan has limited studies on smoking, particularly focusing on high school students. Thus, this study determined the prevalence of smoking among high school students of Thimphu, Bhutan. The self-structured questionnaires were distributed to a sample of 357 students determined using the Yamane formula. The result showed that the overall prevalence of smoking was 48.5%. More male students (63.6%) were found smoking than female students (28.3%). Students smoked different forms of tobacco products, such as cigarettes, cigars, hookah, and bidis, but commonly used tobacco product was cigarettes (63.4%). The most cited reasons for smoking were addiction, followed by peer pressure and outlook fashion. The risks of tobacco use are highest among those who start early and continue its use for a long period. Therefore, the early age of smoking initiation underscores the urgent need to intervene and protect high school students from falling prey to smoking addiction.

The data of this research were obtained by the "Human Values Scale (HVS)" developed by Dilmaç (2007). The obtained data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, correlation and independent samples-t test in SPSS 20 program. The findings have figured out that there wasn’t a significant difference between male and female students' mean scores of responsibility, friendship, peace, respect, honesty and tolerance subscales scores. Also, a positive correlation between the achievement of physics course and responsibility sub-dimension of human values scale, while there was not found any significant relationship between the achievement of physics with friendship, peace, respect, honesty and tolerance sub-dimensions, respectively.
