An ideal spacing between plants should be established for the optimization of radish (Raphanus sativus L.) crops since the plant spatial distribution of plants affects the crop yield.  This study was conducted aiming to evaluate the agronomic performance of radish cultivars grown under different spacings. The experiment was conducted at the Experimental Field of the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Maranhão, in Codó, MA, Brazil, from June to July 2017. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design with five replications, using a 2×2 factorial arrangement. The factors consisted of 2 cultivars (Sparkler Ponta Branca and Saxa) and 2 spacings between plants (5 and 8cm), totaling 20 experimental plots. Data were collected in  6  plants from each experimental plot. The agronomic parameters: total fresh weight (TFW), root fresh weight (RFW), root mean diameter (RMD), root means length (RML), and root yield (RY) of the radish plants were evaluated. The factors (cultivars and spacing between plants) had no significant effect on TFW, RFW, RML, and RMD. The spacing between plants has a significant effect on the yield of radish crops of the cultivar Saxa, and higher yields are found when using the spacing of 5cm.

<em>Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) is popular in the world as a root vegetable. In Indonesia, the yield of radish is low due to several factors such as the cultivation system. Fertilization and mulching are among the cultivation system which are widely known to improve crop growth and yield. The research aimed to study the effect of bokashi-fertilizer and mulch combination on yield of radish (Raphanus sativus L.). A field experiment was conducted at the Experimental Garden of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Faculty, The State University of Papua, Manokwari. This experiment was set up in a randomized block design, consisting of three kinds of bokashi namely firewood/ashwood-bokashi (B1), firewood-bokashi (B2), ashwood-bokashi (B3) and four kinds of mulches consist of transparent plastic mulch (M1), black/silver plastic mulch (M2), gliricida mulch (M3) and imperata mulch (M4). The overall treatments were as follows: control, B1M1, B1M2, B1M3, B1M4, B2M1, B2M2, B2M3, B2M4, B3M1, B3M2, B3M3, B3M4. The results show that yield of radish was not affected by application of the bokashi and mulch combination. Even though, no statistically significant, the application of bokashi and mulch increased plant fresh weight by 59%, tuber fresh weight per plant 61.28%, leaf weight 45.79%, tuber length 19.38% and tuber diameter 22.38% compared to control.</em>

ABSTRACT Water deficit in cauliflower cultivation may impair its development and yield. This study aimed to analyze the agronomic performance of cauliflower grown in a protected environment, under different water conditions and silicon (Si) doses. The experiment was arranged in a randomized block design, in a 3 x 4 factorial scheme, with three levels of water replacement [40, 70 and 100 % of the evapotranspiration (ETc)] and four Si doses (0, 50, 100 and 150 kg ha-1), with four replications. Leaf (SPAD index, area, fresh and dry weight), stem (diameter, height, fresh and dry weight) and inflorescence (diameter, fresh weight, dry weight, water content and commercial classification) characteristics were evaluated. The replacement of 40 % of the ETc showed lower results for the SPAD index in the phases II and III, leaf area, leaf and stem fresh weight and inflorescence diameter. The 70 % replacement cultivation showed a yield similar to that of the 100 % of the ETc. The use of Si was beneficial for the productive performance of the cauliflower at all levels of water replacement.

E-mail: [email protected]     1 RESUMO   Em regiões com limitações de recursos hídricos, como semiárido cearense, o uso eficiente da água torna-se a cada dia imprescindível para a produção de hortaliças irrigadas nestas regiões. Neste sentido, a presente pesquisa teve como objetivo a avaliação técnica e econômica do efeito dos fatores de produção água e níveis de cobertura do solo da bagana de carnaúba sobre a produtividade da cultura do rabanete. A pesquisa foi conduzida no período de junho a agosto de 2018 em dois ciclos de produção em área pertencente ao Prece (Programa de Educação em Células Cooperativas), localizado no município de Pentecoste-CE. O experimento foi conduzido em um delineamento em blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram constituídos por cinco lâminas de irrigação (50%; 75%; 100%; 125% e 150% da evapotranspiração das culturas localizada, ETcloc) e cinco diferentes níveis de cobertura morta constituída de bagana de carnaúba:  25%; 50%; 75% e 100% além da testemunha com o solo sem cobertura 0%, totalizando 100 parcelas experimentais. Os resultados permitiram concluir que a bagana de carnaúba apresentou potencial para utilização como cobertura morta no cultivo de rabanete, proporcionando incremento no rendimento da cultura em condições de estratégia de irrigação com déficit para o uso de 16 t ha-1 de cobertura morta. A cultura rabanete responde de forma crescente às diferentes lâminas de irrigação até a ETcloc de 100%, podendo-se obter ganhos econômicos quando associadas à utilização de cobertura morta no solo.   Palavras-chave: Cobertura do solo. In this sense, this research had as objective the technical and economic evaluation of the effect of the factors of production water and levels of the cover of the soil of the bagana on the productivity of the radish culture. The research was conducted in the period from June to August 2018 in two production cycles in area belonging to Prece (Cooperative Cell Education Program), located in the municipality of Pentecoste-CE. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design with four replicates. The treatments consisted of five irrigation depth (50%, 75%, 100%, 125% and 150% of crop localized evapotranspiration, ET cloc) and five levels of ground cover consisting of carnauba bagana: 25%; 50%; 75% and 100% beyond the control with the soil without 0% coverage, totalizing 100 experimental units. The results allowed to conclude that the carnauba bagana presented potential for use as ground cover in the cultivation of radish, providing an increase in the yield of the crop under conditions of deficit irrigation strategy to use 16 t ha-1 of ground cover. The radish crop significantly responds to the different irrigation depth, up to 100% ET cloc, and economics gains can be obtained when associated with the use of ground cover in soil.   Keywords: Soil cover. ABSTRACT Brazilian sweet cassava consumers are becoming more and more demanding in relation to sanitary conditions, organoleptic and nutritional characteristics of this vegetable products and their derivatives. Thus, more nutritious, early, productive, adapted to mechanized planting and good culinary quality sweet cassava cultivars were developed. This study aimed, therefore, to evaluate the performance of four sweet cassava cultivars in Uberaba, in Triângulo Mineiro region. The experiments were carried out in the experimental field of Faculdades Associadas de Uberaba (FAZU) during two harvest seasons. We adopted a randomized block design with three replicates, each plot consisting of four lines with ten plants. Trait averages were grouped by the Scott & Knott test. The results showed that cultivars BRS 399, BRS 397 and IAC 576-70 have potential to be grown in the region, since they showed root yield higher than 32 t ha-1 and up to 30-minute cooking time. BRS 399 stood out for its performance, showing root yield of 37 t ha-1 and 48 t ha-1 in 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 harvest seasons, respectively, with short-time cooking and presenting shoot productivities which allow its use even as animal feed.

The research was conducted in the greenhouse Faculty of Agriculture, Winaya Mukti University Sumedang district, from April 2011 until June 2011, which is located at an altitude of 850 meters above sea level. The aim of research to study the effect of fly ash Bokashi on growth and baby yield of rapeseed varieties Greenbow. The design used in the study is a randomized block design, which consists of five treatments and five replications. Treatment trial is dose flay ash Bokashi, which is 0 tonnes ha-1, 5 ton ha-1, 10 ton ha-1, 15 ton ha-1 and 20 ton ha-1. The results showed that the fly ash Bokashi effect on plant height, number of leaves per plant, diameter and weight of sweet potatoes per plant. Award dose Bokashi fly ash 5 ton ha-1 showed equally good results by administering doses of fly ash Bokashi 10 ton ha-1, 15 ton ha-1 and 20 ton ha-1 on plant height, leaf number, diameter and weight of tuber turnip var. Greenhouse experiments were carried out to determine the tolerance of two radish cultivars to soil-applied B, Mo, and Zn. Sources used were boric acid (0, 54, 108, 216, 324, and 432 ppm), molybdic acid (0, 1.4, 2.8, 5.6, 8.5, and 11.3 ppm), and zinc sulfate (0, 40, 80, 160, 240, and 360 ppm) applied at planting in addition to the control. Plants were grown in plastic containers of 1.5 L, filled with a potting medium composed of 50% vermiculite, 30% sphagnum peat, and 20% perlite. Treatments were arranged within a randomized complete block design with six replications. Fresh weight of commercial roots was not affected by Mo or Zn applications in either cultivar. However, B applications decreased root fresh weight as rate increased. These results suggest that these radish cultivars perform well in a relatively wide range of Mo and Zn application rates, whereas tolerance to B appears to be low.

Plant density is known to be important factor to determine the agronomical target of a maximum production. Plant density is generally determined by spacing. The wide spacing, may caused inefficient farm system. On the contrary, narrow by spaced planting can retard growth. Prediction of growth rates and development of crop plants including radish is insufficient if it is relied only on the change that happens to the crop with days after planting. But the basis of the prediction is its potential production biomass. This research is discover the density that suistable for maximum land - use. This research was conducted in a randomized block design, with five density treatments. The treatments were 40 x 60 cm, 45 x 60 cm, 50 x 60 cm, 55 x 60 cm and 60 x 60 cm each of which is repeated three times. The variable obseverved was crop dry matter. Air temperature and rainfall were also recordee. Data were analysed using ANOVA and SSD for mens differences. Radish growth and produces were determined by growth rate (Cm), periode of linear growth (tm) and period of silent growth (to). Plant density significantly affected the growth of radish. ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of interaction between nitrogen topdressing and different application ways (active ingredients) a.i. fluazifop-p-butyl + fomesafen in weed control and agronomic performance of common bean. The experiment was conducted during winter 2003 in Selvíria/MS. The experimental design used was a randomized block design with four replications in a factorial scheme 2x7. The first factor was composed by the absence or presence of nitrogen topdressing, while the second factor consisted of different application ways of fluazifop-p-butyl + fomesafen. The following variables were measured: leaf N content, dry matter of plants, yield components (number of pods plant-1, number of grains plant-1, the average number of grains pod-1 and mass of 100 grains), grain yield, phytotoxicity and weed control percentage. The nitrogen topdressing with 75 kg ha-1provided higher dry matter of plants, higher weed control and higher common bean yield of irrigated winter. In the absence of nitrogen topdressing in the application of urea before or together to fluazifop-p-butyl + fomesafen increased their effectiveness in controlling weeds without interference in the agronomic performance of common bean.

Clove oil has the potential to suppress the development of the mosaic virus in patchouli plants, but its effectiveness in the field has not been studied. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of clove nano biopesticide on controlling patchouli mosaic disease. The research was conducted at the Manoko Experimental Garden, Bandung, West Java from March to November 2018. The patchouli used was Patchoulina-2 variety, which originated from the Seed Breeder Garden in Lembang, Bandung.  This study was arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RBD), consisting of five treatments and ten replications within each treatment, with one hundred plants in each replication. The results obtained showed that nano biopesticides of citronella, clove, and commercial citronella (Asimbo) were able to reduce the incidence and intensity of mosaic diseases in patchouli plants, showing the efficacy levels of 14.68%, 9.06%, and 5.83%, respectively. The application of citronella and clove biopesticides on Patchoulina-2 every month could increase plant fresh weight, when compared to the plants without treatment. Patchoulina-2 plants treated with nano biopesticides of clove and commercial citronella (Asimbo) showed higher value of fresh weight compared to those treated with citronella nano biopesticide. The clove nano biopesticide can also be developed to control mosaic diseases in patchouli plants.

This study aims to find out the results of cassava tuber crop UJ5 variety at different harvest ages. Research direction is that cassava varieties have been planted throughout Indonesia as the best producer of cassava varieties. High levels of starch and high HCN content makes this variety was selected by the factory - tapioca factory in Indonesia. Research design used randomized block design with 7 treatments of harvesting (UP) were repeated 3 times. UP6 (harvesting 6 MAP), UP7 (harvesting 7 MAP), UP8 (harvesting 8 MAP), UP9 (harvesting 9 MAP), UP10 (harvesting 10 MAP), UP11 (harvesting 11 MAP), UP12 ( harvesting 12 MAP). The research variables are the fresh weight of tuber, tuber starch content (%), the weight of biomass, harvest index, number of tubers per plant. The results showed that the best harvesting time is UP9 the results did not differ with UP10, UP11 and UP12
