This study aims to determine the character values in laboratory activities, the process of character building and to find out the causes of the reduced character values of biology education students. The method used is the triangulation method. Data collection is done by observation, in-depth interviews and distributing questionnaire sheets. The results showed the lowest character value criteria was honesty, that wasin enough category with an average score of 3.32. It can be concluded that the overall character values of biology education students are classified as good with an average value of 3.55. Although the process of character building for biology education students through laboratory activities has been carried out by providing punishment and rewards, there are reduced character values due to insufficient face-to-face time in laboratory activities, lack of cooperation among assistants, and students’ lack of awareness to obey the rules, self-introspection and motivation.

Biology education students should not only have pedagogic competence but also personality, so that they are not only proficient in mastering learning material, but also has a scientific attitude. The purpose of this study was to measure the feasibility of environmental education module based on local potency in the form of case studies in developing biology education students’ environmental awareness. The module is validated by subject experts and media experts. Based on the criteria of validity, the average validation score were  2.62  from subject matter experts and 2.63 from media experts which were categorized as valid. The module then tested on six biology education students and environmental awareness questionnaire resulted in an average score of 74.28 which was categorized as good. Keywords: case study, environmental education module, environmental awareness, local potency, pre-service biology teacherABSTRAKMahasiswa pendidikan Biologi tidak hanya harus memiliki kompetensi pedagogik namun juga kompetensi kepribadian, sehingga tidak hanya cakap dalam penguasaan materi pembelajaran, namun juga memiliki sikap ilmiah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur kelayakan modul pengetahuan lingkungan berbasis potensi lokal bermuatan studi kasus dalam membentuk sikap peduli lingkungan mahasiswa pendidikan Biologi. Modul tersebut divalidasi  oleh ahli materi dan ahli media. Berdasarkan kriteria kevalidan, maka rata-rata total validasi dari ahli materi dan ahli media diperoleh sebesar 2,62 dan 2,63 yang termasuk dalam kategori valid. This research is based on the problem where practical activities in the Basic Physics Practicum course can no longer be carried out optimally due to changes in the learning model from face-to-face (offline) to online (online) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to develop a virtual physics laboratory as a medium in carrying out practical activities and to analyze the feasibility of the product through the validation results of experts and the results of product trials on prospective users. This type of research is Research & Development with ADDIE development model. The subjects of this study were 12 lecturers and 47 students of the STKIP Citra Bakti science education study program. Data collection techniques using validation sheets and questionnaires. The data collection instruments are in the form of validation assessment sheets and response questionnaires of prospective users. The data from this study were analyzed qualitatively descriptive to decide the feasibility of the product being developed. The results of the research showed that the average validation score of the material expert was 4.63, the media expert was 4.41, the learning design expert was 4.30, and the linguist was 4.51. The validation results of the four validators are in the very good category. Meanwhile, the results of product trials to lecturers and students as potential users are in the very good category with an average score of 4.53 and 4.57, respectively. Based on these data, this virtual physics laboratory product with real world problems based on Ngada local wisdom is recommended to be applied to the Basic Physics Practicum course and to help students in their independent practicum activities.

This study aims to determine the extent to which the website is used in library promotion efforts. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, documentation and through a questionnaire. The results of the study showed that the website as a promotional tool in the library of SMA N 1 Jogjakarta was categorized well with an average value of 3.5. The researchers obtained these results through 11 indicators divided by 7 indicators from the theory of effectiveness and 4 indicators from promotion. First, production with an average value of 3.65. Second, quality with an average of 3.67. Third, efficiency with an average of 3.58. The fourth is satisfaction with an average score of 3.59. Fifth competition with an average of 3.51. The six developments with an average of 3.42. The seven continued with a mean of 3.71. The eighth is through library promotion indicators, which can introduce library functions with an average of 3.53. Ninth, increasing reading interest by an average of 3.46. Ten, namely introducing library services and services with an average value of 3.53. Eleventh, developing understanding of the library with an average value of 3.49.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana penggunaan website dalam upaya promosi perpustakaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan interview, observasi, dokumentasi serta melalui angket. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa website sebagai sarana promosi di perpustakaan SMA N 1 Jogjakarta dikategorikan baik dengan nilai rata-rata 3,5. Hasil tersebut peneliti peroleh melalui 11 indikator dengan pembagian 7 indikator dari teori efektivitas dan 4 indikator dari promosi. Pertama, produksi dengan nilai rata-rata 3,65. Kedua, mutu dengan rata-rata 3,67. Ketiga, efisiensi dengan rata-rata 3,58. Keempat kepuasan dengan nilai rata-rata 3,59. Kelima persaingan dengan rata-rata 3,51. Keenam pengembangan dengan rata-rata 3,42. Ketujuh kelangsungan dengan rata-rata 3,71. Kedelapan yaitu melalui indikator promosi perpustakaan yakni dapat mengenalkan fungsi perpustakaan dengan rata-rata 3,53. Kesembilan, meningkatkan minat baca dengan rata-rata 3,46. Sepuluh yaitu mengenalkan jasa dan layanan perpustakaan dengan nilai rata-rata 3,53. Kesebelas, mengembangkan pengertian perpustakaan dengan nilai rata-rata 3,49.

This study aims to produce teaching materials in the form of teaching books based on Discovery Learning on the theme I Animal and Human Organ Movements, Sub-Theme I Animal Movement Organs. This research is a type of development research using the 4D model. The trial subjects in this study were expert subjects, namely media experts, material experts, and teachers in Cluster V, Kerambitan District, Tabanan Regency, as well as 42 students in grade V. The data collection technique was done by using a questionnaire. This questionnaire is used to assess textbooks developed in terms of material content and textbook appearance. Data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The results of this study are seen from the validity is very feasible with an average value of 4.25, seen from the practicality is very practical with an average score of 89 teachers and an average value of students 82.75 and seen from the effectiveness, it is at a moderate level of effectiveness. with an average value of 0.60

The purpose of this research is to know the practical implementation of the morphology of the plant biology education students FKIP UMS 2017/2018 school year. This research is descriptive research with the research sample is a student semester 1 Biology education UMS, which travels the eyes of practical morphology of plants taken with Taro Yamane formula to get the number of samples in overall by as much as 81 students. Data collection techniques by using question form. The results of the analysis of the data shows that in practical plant morphology, 91% of students familiar with plants/preparations are used, 53% of the students stated the time used in practical enough to complete the practical work, and from the a series of practical work each meeting there is a 65% of students who have difficulty in observing and drawing plant organs into practical report. Key words: analysis, practical plant morphology

This study aims to describe governance in the formation of the character of madrasah students in Magelang City in 2021, to describe student responses to the governance of student character building by madrasas in Magelang City in 2021, and to describe the evaluation of governance in character building of madrasah students in Magelang City which including Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, Madrasah Tsanawiyah, and Madrasah Aliyah. This study used descriptive qualitative method. This method is used to describe and explain madrasa management in shaping the character of students in madrasas in the Magelang region. The places chosen to conduct the research were Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, Madrasah Tsanawiyah, Madrasah Aliyah. Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) includes MI Muhammadiyah Terpadu Harapan Magelang City and MI Al Iman City Magelang. Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) include MTsN 1 Magelang City and MTsN 2 Magelang City. Madrasah Aliyah (MA) includes MAN of Magelang City and MA Al Iman of Magelang City. Data collection techniques in this research are using content/document analysis techniques, in-depth interviews, and events/observations. The method used to check the validity of the data is the triangulation method. The results showed that: 1). Governance in shaping the character of madrasa students in Magelang City in 2021 is generally carried out by the madrasah through various habituation and extracurricular activities as well as positive self-development such as reading Asmaul Husna, Tahfidzul Qur'an, Tilawatil Qur'an, Sunnah fasting and others. has gone well; 2). Student responses to the management of student character building by madrasas in Magelang City are generally very good and positive, students carry out various activities implemented by the school enthusiastically and consistently; 3). The evaluation carried out for the formation of student character applied to madrasas in Magelang City was successful and as expected because in general the students had good morals and carried out various positive activities both within the madrasa and outside the madrasa environment.

The study aims to improve the ability to write the text of the observation report using modeling methods. This research was conducted in the students of the VII-A Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 4, the semester of the year, 2019/2020. This research uses class action methods. Data collection techniques using tests and validity of data are obtained through the validity of the process and the validity of results. The results showed that: (1) Learning to write the text of an observation report using modeling methods can improve the student's ability to write the text of the observation report. This is seen from the average value of the ability to write the text of an observation report before the action is 56.04, increasing to 61.7 on cycles 1 and 77.96 on cycle II. Increased average score from pre-action to cycle I, amounting to 4.90, and to cycle II by 12.67. Increased total average score from pre-action to cycle II by 17.57. (2) The enhancement of the learning process using modeling methods can be seen from the enthusiasm, attention, and activity of students so as to improve the quality of learning to write the report of the observation result and positive change for students. Therefore, the use of modeling methods in learning to write the text of an observation report can be more interesting and enjoyable.

The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of metacognitive ability to improve the geography learning outcomes. This research is expo facto with a quantitative approach. Data was collected from 55 students from the geography education department. Data collection methods used in this study was questionnaires and documentation. The results showed that the metacognitive abilities of students had an average value of 44.57 or that metacognitive abilities were an insufficient category. There was a significant influence of metacognitive abilities on student learning outcomes as evidenced by t count = 6.508 > t table = 1.674. The contribution of the influence of metacognitive abilities on biogeography learning outcomes was equal to 0.444 or 44.4%, while the remainder of 66.6% was influenced by other factors.

This research aims to show the practice of tarkib learning using mind mapping learning strategies and determine the students' responses to applying the learning model at MA Almaarif Singosari Malang. This learning process has a limited duration of learning meetings during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is qualitative and descriptive. The data source consisted of students of class XII MIA 3 second session of MA Almaarif Singosari Malang. Data collection techniques were carried out by interview, questionnaire, and documentation. The data validation is used the triangulation technique. The data analysis technique is used the Mile and Huberman, namely: data collection and checking, data reduction, data presentation, and inference. This study's results indicate that students' positive responses to the application of the mind mapping learning model in tarkib learning were much higher than the negative responses. Therefore, seen from the perspective of student responses, the mind mapping learning model is suitable for tarkib learning in class, especially for courses with limited face-to-face time duration.

The distance education model has become the most common educational model used around the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic that emerged in China at the end of 2019. In North Cyprus (NC), traditional face-to-face education had been resumed through online channels. The rapid shift to online channels has not only caused distress among students who do not have experience with using in online education systems, but also caused many problems to surface in terms of access to education. This study aims to explore the attitudes and views of higher education students in NC regarding the distance education implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic in the 2020–2021 educational year. In this quantitative study, the survey method was used. A random sampling approach was used for determining the study group, which was formed of 470 volunteer higher education students. According to the analysis of the data collected from the students, it was determined that they received an average score of x̅=82.52±19.50 points from the overall Attitudes Regarding the Use of Distance Education Environments During the Pandemic (ASRUDEEDP) scale, x̅=23.03±7.21 from the competence and education sub-dimension, x̅=26.36±5.81 from the practicality sub-dimension, x̅=18.20±4.83 points from the efficiency sub-dimension, and x̅=14.93±4.12 from the satisfaction sub-dimension. It was identified that there were no differences in the scores according to the age group, grade, or Internet use durations (p>0.05) but the scores of male students were observed to be higher than those of female in the sub-dimensions of competence and motivation as well as practicality within the ASRUDEEDP.
