Resumo: Os estudos sobre a cognição, em muitos casos, se referem principalmente à memória e atenção. Nesta pesquisa, utilizamos o modelo proposto por Piaget (1977), denominado Tomada de Consciência. Este recorte da teoria visa analisar aspectos relacionados ao processo do funcionamento cognitivo do idoso. O objetivo da pesquisa foi caracterizar o processo de Tomada de Consciência de idosos e adolescentes, num contexto de jogos de regras. Os participantes residiam em bairros de classe média e tiveram sua formação em escolas públicas. Os adolescentes cursavam o primeiro ano do ensino médio e os idosos já o haviam concluído. A escolha por adolescentes se deve ao fato de que para Piaget, o ápice do desenvolvimento cognitivo é o estágio lógico-formal, atingido a partir da adolescência. Entretanto, o objeto desta pesquisa foi o funcionamento cognitivo do idoso. O adolescente foi incluído para auxiliar a definição das características encontradas, de modo a proporcionar melhor entendimento sobre o processo no envelhecimento, em situações minimamente controladas. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório, de natureza qualitativa, baseado no método clínico de Piaget. Esta pesquisa foi realizada com dois adolescentes e dois idosos jovens. O instrumento utilizado para coleta de dados foi um jogo de regras chamado Quoridor. Os resultados indicam que, em muitos aspectos, o processo de Tomada de Consciência dos idosos e adolescentes pesquisados se assemelhou. Contudo, diferenças qualitativas foram observadas em toda a análise dos dados, e podem indicar direção para o desenvolvimento de intervenção nos aspectos cognitivos de idosos. Palavras-chave: Envelhecimento. Piaget. Jogos. Tomada de Consciência. Cognição. Abstract: The studies on cognition, in many cases, refer mainly to memory and attention. This research used the model proposed by Piaget (1977) denominated Grasp of Consciousness. This part of the theory aims to analyze aspects related to the process of cognitive functioning of elderly people. The objective was to characterize the process of Grasp of Consciousness of elders and teenagers, in a context of games of rules. The participants lived in middle class neighborhoods, and had attended public schools. The adolescents were on the first grade of High School while the elders had had already concluded it. The choice of teenagers is due to the fact that for Piaget, the apex of cognitive development is the formal operational stage reached starting from adolescence. However, the object of this research was the cognitive functioning of elders. Teenagers were included to help define the characteristics found, so to provide better understanding of the aging process in simple, controlled situations. This is a qualitative exploratory study, based on the Piagetian clinical method. This research was carried out with two teenagers and two young elders. The instrument used for the data gathering was a game of rules named Quoridor. The results indicate that, in many aspects, the process of Grasp of Consciousness of the elders and teenagers in this research was similar. However, qualitative differences were observed throughout the data analysis, and they may indicate a direction for the development of intervention in the cognitive aspects of elders. Currently, the issue of sex differences in mathematical abilities is of great concern. This article focuses on one early number skill: rote counting. Almost a century of research has produced equivocal results. These discrepancies might be accounted for by differences in methodology and data analysis. This report presents data on sex differences in rote-counting ability and illustrates how different data-gathering methods and different statistical treatments of the data can yield different results.

The study was to develop a model of partnership management between the vocational high school (VHS) and the employment domain in the curriculum of industrial working practice under the activities of planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation in the vocational high schools of Banda Aceh. The study used the research and development method design with several phases that had been developed by Borg & Gall. The data type in the study was qualitative and quantitative. For the qualitative data analysis, the researcher used the interactive analysis that had been developed by Milles & Huberman. On the other hand, for the quantitative data analysis the researcher used a Likert-scale measure. The research subjects were vocational education practitioners and experts. The data gathering was conducted by means of documentation, observation, interview, and Delphi techniques; all of the methods were implemented until the researcher found the conceptual model. Then, the researcher involved the experts in the model testing by using the Delphi technique resulting in a hypothetical model from the conceptual to be used as the basis for developing the final model. Eventually, the researcher drew the following conclusion: (1) The partnership between the VHS and the employment domain had been pursued by all of the vocational high schools in the City of Banda Aceh but there had not been any clear and integrated model of partnership management; and (2) the researcher generated a model development of partnership management between the VHS and the employment domain in the curriculum of industrial working practice clearly, practically, and effectively.

The current quantitative research was carried out to develop anxiety instruments from grand theories and detailed aspects into indicators to statement items representing theoretical constructs of anxiety in the form of blueprints. The data sampling technique employed in this study was purposive sampling. The subjects of the study were 98 respondents in total who attended the first grade of junior high school. The current study developed an anxiety instrument by employing aspects from Rosenhan and Seligman. SPSS used in the data analysis process. The data validity test stated that items number 6 and 20 were dropped because their scores were less than 0.300. Meanwhile, items number 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,21 were valid because their scores reached above 0,300. Moreover, from the reliability test, it was found that the score was 0.871 which implied that the data was reliable.

The researcher aims to find out the effectiveness using Treasure Hunt Game toward students’ vocabulary mastery with the research objectives: to find out the use of Treasure Hunt Gametowardthe first grade students’ vocabulary mastery at Islamic Senior High School of Muhammadiyah Palampang. This research was conducted at the class X MIA 1 and X MIA 2. The sample of this research was 50 students from 280 populations. The controled class was took from class X MIA 1, while the experimental class was from X MIA 2. The number of the sample in each class was 25 students.Quasi experimental design was applied in this research with two group pre-test and post-test design. The instrument used to collect data was vocabulary test.Research findings showed that the experimental class got score on pre-test with the mean score 44,2. After giving treatment the students got change, they got score with the mean score 59,9. The result of the data analysis indicated that there was a change of the students’ vocabulary mastery after being taught using Treasure Hunt Game. It was proved by the result of the statistical analysis of the level significance P = 0.05 with degree of freedom (df) = 48 indicated that the t-test values of the students’ vocabulary mastery (2,53) was higher than the t-table (2,01). Based on the result of analysis, the researcher concludes that using Treasure Hunt Game was effective toward the students’ vocabulary mastery at the first grade students of Islamic Senior High School of Muhammadiyah Palampang, because Treasure Hunt Game give a lot of fun, the students enjoy the learning without any preasure. Than, Treasure Hunt Game stimulates students engagement in learning process. If students enjoy the learning process, they were enthusiastic enough to involve and compete each other in learning process.Keywords: Treasure Hunt Game, Vocabulary mastery, First Grade Students

One way that students learn about sampling is by actually collecting data. Collecting data gives them a feel for the practical struggles and small decisions needed in real data gathering, and it illustrates many important ideas in sampling. Another way of learning about sampling is to discuss surveys reported in the popular press. Reading and critiquing unusual news stories is fun, and real survey findings emphasize the importance of the statistical idea being illustrated. We have developed several demonstrations and examples of survey sampling to use in the classroom, and we use these activities regularly in our introductory statistics courses for college students who have completed high school algebra. We have also had success introducing the activities to eighth-grade students in New York City public schools, and since these activities are in the spirit of the NCTM's Standards for statistics for grades 9–12, they would be particularly useful in the high school setting.

This exploratory study aims to describe (1) the development of terminology-based Indonesian language materials for students in Deli Serdang, (2) the level of validation of terminology-based Indonesian language materials for students in Deli Serdang, (3) students' responses related to the legibility of terminology-based Indonesian language materials. The subjects of this study were content experts, Indonesian language subject teachers, and students of ISTIQLAL High School Deli Serdang. The procedure of this study adapted research procedures from Borg and Gall. The instruments used for data collection in this study were documentation, observation, questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis techniques applied in this study were qualitative and quantitative techniques. The results of this study indicate that: (1) teaching materials are designed in line with the 2013 curriculum based on terminology, (2) the level of validation of teaching materials is in good qualification, and (3) the response of users of teaching materials in the field test phase is good.

This research looks at listening as one factor that gives contribution toward speaking among high school students. The study attempts to reveal through data analysis, in the form of students. score from each variable that both have correlation. Further the objective of the study is also to find out the extent of influence contributed by listening toward speaking. The research applies library study and field study (instrument designing and test performing both for listening and speaking). The theory used for analysis deals with listening and speaking correlation from language learning review. The result of the study demonstrates that the correlation of listening as the independent variable with speaking as dependent variable is positive. It also proves that with a unit of program or treatment given toward listening class, there will be a significant improvement equals with 3.134 times from previous speaking score for the same sample. For the analysis of data, the extent of correlation between two varibales is shown as low. It indicates that even though listening do have positive correlation towarde speaking, it is not the only deminant factor to determine success in speaking.

This articel aims to obtain data on non-cognitive assessment, the ability of teachers to make the rubric of non-cognitive assessment, constraints - any constraints faced by teachers in developing noncognitive instruments as well as any policy that will be done in overcoming the obstacles faced by social studies teacher in junior RSBI Padang Class VII Semester II.This type of research is descriptive research. Data obtained from document analysis, interviews and observation. Techniques of data analysis by using percentages. Data obtained from interviews with informants, the junior high school teachers who teach social studies classes RSBI VII, Chairman of the IPS MGMP Padang, three expert specialist and deputy head of the school curriculum areas.After data analysis performed, the results obtained that the number of teachers who have not done in developing and assessing the activities within the rubric of attitude assessment, student performance and products. Once analyzed by the expert assessment rubric attitude, and product performance in terms of science and the content is quite good and better in terms of the language section. Perceived obstacles to overcome problems that arise in the application of attitude assessment, and performance of the products most social studies teachers have tried various things such as: reading books / other resources relevant to teaching materials, training, seminars and follow MGMP forum, discuss in advance with Head of School before attending the training and talked about making attitude assessment rubrics, and product performance with peers.

<p><em>This study examines the focal point of illustration of the first winner of the contest for writing opinion of the senior high school level in South Kalimantan. This study aims to describe 1) the focus point of illustration of the title of the first winner of the contest writing opinion of the senior high school level in South Kalimantan? 2) the focal point of information information of the first winner of writing contest for high school level opinion in South Kalimantan; 3) the focal point of illocution of the moral message of the first winner of the high school opinion writing contest in South Kalimantan. The study was conducted in October 2016 at Balai Bahasa Balai. The method used is qualitative deskreptif. The technique used in this paper is the sampling purposive sampling. The sample used as data is the first winner of the contest for writing the opinion of the senior high school level in South Kalimantan, in South Kalimantan Language Hall, in 2016. This first winner is named Norhidayah, a student of SMAN 4 Banjarbaru, with the title of Language Role in Introducing Children of Nation. Data analysis is done by steps, data collection, data identification, classification, selection and interpretation. The results of data analysis are presented in ordinary words with technical terminology. Based on the results of the study of the focal point of the article, the first winner of the South Kalimantan high school opinion writing contest includes the focus point of the title illusion, the focus point of information illocution, and the focus point of the illustration of the moral mandate. The focus of the title illustration can be seen in the meaning of its ilokusinya, language, and suitability of the theme in the title. The focus point of the information illumination of the article can be seen in its meaning of ilokusinya, its language style, and the type of discourse. The focus point of the illustration of its moral mandate can be seen in the author's expectations contained in the title, the focus of the information, and on the final paragraph of the paper</em></p><p><em><br /></em></p><p>Masalah yang dibahasa mengenai titik fokus ilokusi  artikel pemenang pertama  lomba penulisan opini tingkat SLTA se-Kalimantan Selatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan 1) titik fokus ilokusi judul artikel pemenang pertama  lomba penulisan opini tingkat SLTA se-Kalimantan Selatan? 2) titik fokus ilokusi informasi artikel pemenang pertama  lomba penulisan opini tingkat SLTA se-Kalimantan Selatan; 3) titik fokus ilokusi amanat moral  artikel pemenang pertama  lomba penulisan opini tingkat SLTA se-Kalimantan Selatan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2016 di Balai Bahasa Kalimantan Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskreptif kualitatif. Teknik yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Sampel yang dijadikan data adalah artikel pemenang pertama lomba penulisan opini tingkat SLTA se-Kalimantan Selatan, di Balai Bahasa Kalimantan Selatan, tahun 2016. Pemenang pertama ini bernama Norhidayah, siswa SMAN 4 Banjarbaru, dengan judul Peran Bahasa dalam Mencerdaskan Anak Bangsa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan  langkah-langkah, pengumpulan data, indentifikasi data, klasifikasi, seleksi dan  interpretasi. Hasil analisis data disajikan dengan kata-kata biasa dengan terminologi yang teknis sifatnya. Berdasarkan hasil kajian titik fokus ilokusi artikel pemenang pertama  lomba penulisan opini tingkat SLTA se-Kalimantan Selatan  meliputi titik fokus ilokusi judul, titik fokus ilokusi  informasi , dan  titik fokus ilokusi amanat moral.Titik fokus ilokusi judul dapat dilihat pada makna ilokusinya, gaya bahasanya, daya bahasa, dan kesesuaian tema pada judul.
