Research field of migration has been developing for a long time parallel to and outside mainstream institutional academic sociology and its theoretical foundation. In the last two decades, within the field of migration studies, one specific aspect of the phenomena came to the research focus: gender, as significant factor that influences on motivation for migration, shaping, at the same time, its characteristics and specific experiences. With decisive breakthrough of qualitative methods in social sciences and humanities, as well as with gradual development of postmodern philosophy and feminist theory, gender migration studies have been established as research sub-discipline, with its own theoretical and categorical scientific apparatus (as well as institutional-academic grounding), managing more or less successfully to explain and understand multidimensional character of migration processes. This text represents an attempt to make relatively concise overview of disciplines? historical, theoretical and research field development, as a first step in its broader affirmation within Serbian institutional sociology.

This article looks into the status and identity of ethnography by paying attention to the ideas of transformation and becoming, and to the meanings of “reality” in post postmodern times. Based on a personal reflection about the intellectual journey of the author, and his transition from journalism to academic research, it first provides an illustration of the complicated relationship between journalism, and journalistic practices, with social research during the 20th century. It highlights the trailblazing work of German–Jewish intellectual Siegfried Kracauer during the Weimar years, whose eclectic attention to popular culture and social theory has been for a long time overlooked. Following the postmodern turn, reflexivity has taken center stage in ethnographic methods, but this has not diminished the differences within social sciences and humanities in the way the subject, the researcher, is perceived and interpreted. A contested area of debate remains that of representation, and particularly, the realization that nothing meaningfully exists outside the process of representation. However, this point is further complicated by the status of “reality” in the age of the implosion of social life through the conflation of the private and the public brought about by the digital revolution.

Sperm–oocyte fusion is one of the most impressive events in sexual reproduction, and the elucidation of its molecular mechanism has fascinated researchers for a long time. Because of the limitation of materials and difficulties in analyzing membrane protein–protein interactions, many attempts have failed to reach this goal. Recent studies involving gene targeting have clearly demonstrated the various molecules that are involved in sperm–oocyte binding and fusion. Sperm ADAMs (family of proteins with a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain), including fertilin α, fertilin β and cyritestin, have been investigated and found to be important for binding rather than for fusion and painstaking studies have raised suspicions that their putative receptors, oocyte integrins, are necessary for the sperm–oocyte interaction. Recently, several studies have focused the spotlight on CD9 and glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored proteins on oocytes, and epididymal protein DE on sperm, as candidate molecules involved in sperm–oocyte fusion. Lack of, or interference with the function of, these proteins can disrupt the sperm–oocyte fusion without changing the binding. In this review we highlight the candidate molecules involved in the sperm–oocyte interaction suggested from the recent progress in this research field.

Image compression technology has been the research focus in the field of image processing all the time. In this paper, Radix-4 FFT is introduced to realize limit distortion coding of image. The presented method aims to solve the problems of Fourier transform on existing complexity and long time-consuming, and it can reduce the number of data store by conformal symmetry of Fourier transform. Using Radix-4 FFT, the time-consuming can be highly shortened and two different kinds of quantization tables are designed according to image compression ratio and the quality of image.

Józef Łobodowski’s pre-war translations were published in the weekly “Wołyń” which he was the editor of in the years 1937–1938, and in “Biuletyn Polsko-Ukraiński”. Among them, the translations of poems by Yuriy Kosach, Natalya Lyvitska-Kholodna, Oleh Olzhych and Yevhen Malanyuk can be found. Łobodowski had personal contacts with was Malanyuk as he was his long-time acquaintance. They both published their works in “Biuletyn Polsko-Ukraiński” and in “Kultura” based in Paris. Łobodowski translated in total over 20 works of the Ukrainian poet, the majority of which were published in “Kultura” after the war, together with a number of literary critical articles, such as Scylle i Charybdy poezji ukraińskiej (The Scyllas And Charybdas of the Ukrainian Poetry), Poezja Jewhena Małaniuka (Yevhen Malanyuk’s Poetry), Ostatnia wiosna (The Last Spring), or a memoir note Po śmierci Małaniuka (After Malanyuk’s Death). In the 1930s, Łobodowski became interested in the poetry from the collection Земля й залізо (Earth and Iron). In the interwar period, three translations were published: An Inscription on a Book of Poems (Напис на книзі віршів), 13 November 1920 (13 листопада 1920 р.) and fragments of the Epiphanies (Прозріння) cycle. In his translations, the author for Lublin was guided mainly by the principle of the hierarchy of values and equivalence. His works include Malanyuk’s poems close to his own poetry. Moreover, in his translation work he tended to avoid texts speaking against Poles and dividing the two nations. Łobodowski is characterised by his interpretational talents and the ability to preserve the main meanings of the original versions. In spite of the fact that his translations are characterised by dynamic equivalence, they are not spontaneous, they do not stem from emotions, but they have a solid theoretical foundation and are based on his excellent knowledge of the Ukrainian poet’s works.

An Tho Castle (An Dan Ward, Tuy An District, Phu Yen Province) was built in the reign of Minh Menh. It was the capital of Phu Yen Province for a long time. In August 1945 Revolution, in the two wars against France and the United States, the castle became a fierce duel between the resistance forces and ethnic enemies. This is also the birthplace of Tran Phu – the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. In 2008, the ancient castle conducted some archaeological excavations by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Department of Phu Yen Province and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM to determine the scientific value of the relics. Through excavation, the entire old ground as well as some buildings (i.e. the area of road building, front yard, old wells, gates of various locations such as front, back, left, right, etc.) already existed. Many types of relics of numerous different materials such as stone, bronze, iron, terracotta, ceramic, porcelain, coins under the reign of Kings Minh Mang, Thieu Tri, Tu Duc and some stone bullets, cast iron were used for the defense of the city. Nowadays, with the advantages of geographical location, terrain, scenery, special sizes of architecture and relics of the past An Tho Castle, through archaeological excavations and historical culture, the surrounding landscape, we absolutely can confidently invest in the development of exciting new tours to contribute to the economic development of the province and the region. In this paper, the author mentions some of the following: 1. Introduction to preliminary excavations and findings. 2. Issue of conservation and promotion of the values of An Tho ancient ruin 3. Recommendation for the creation of tourism: Interior provinces: Tuy Hoa - Da Dia rapids - Quang Duc pottery village - An Tho castle - Da Trang pagoda. For the region: combination of tours with Nha Trang - Phu Yen - Binh Dinh.

Abstract The paper concerns research and improvement of production processes in one of the European companies in the rubber industry1. The main goal is to improve the production process of the thermo-plastics obtained from polymer materials on the company’s production line. Improvement is defined as a reduction of the setup time of a key machine in the tested production process. The research method includes the analysis of the literature, observation of the studied process, and the accomplished computer simulation experiments. The proposed activities relate to the reinforcement of the key part of the machine, the change of the machine setup method, and the preliminary staff assignment to the specific tasks. The results of the simulation experiments confirm the implementation of the proposed improvements. The theoretical contribution to the research field development is the proposal of the simulation modeling methodology to improve production processes of continuous materials. Practical conclusions lead to recommendations for the implementation of improvements in the enterprise, with direct application of the proposed actions.

Psychoanalysis has been a research field for authors a long time ago. The human psyche is complicated; it is a mix of emotions, instincts, actions ad reactions. The 20th century is revolutionary, new inventions and discoveries were trending, with the new way of living people started to lose faith. William Golding's Free Fall as Künstlerroman is tracing the development of the artist Sammy Mountjoy's character from childhood until he matures. The things he faced and the factors that reshaped his life. He was chastened by suffering as he learned from the school of life. In this non-thesis paper, a study of the character of Sammy as he grows up is explored with examining the factors that affected his personality. The introduction illustrates Künstlerroman as a subgenre of Bildungsroman and explains them as a theoretical framework, the difference between them and their characteristics. Also, it discusses psychoanalysis definition. Chapter I will focus on Sammy's childhood living in Rotten Row and his friends, the role of his parents and moving to the art school where he met Beatrice. Chapter II will discuss Sammy the man when he was investigated in prison. It deals with mature Sammy who wants to fix his mistakes and feels free from guilt.

For a long time, rural revitalization has been a topic of concern. After it was put forward in the form of a policy in 2017, it has further received research feedback in many fields, and the education field is no exception. This article is based on the quantitative analysis of the reports in the CNKI database, with rural revitalization as the theme of educational research from 2000 to 2021. We summarized its development trends and research priorities. We found that after 2017, there has been a surge in education research related to rural revitalization, focusing on three aspects: vocational education, teacher plight, and education construction. At present, the rural revitalization strategy is still in its infancy. Grasping the research focus in time and referring to international experience can provide a more comprehensive theoretical basis for the realization of rural revitalization, promote the flexible change of research focus, and facilitate the effective implementation of policies.
