At the heart of decentralization lies the notion that tasks are delegated by owners to managers who possess superior local information. The extent of this information asymmetry is often an endogenous construct, as it is influenced by the owner's choice of internal accounting systems and the manager's investment in acquiring local expertise. In this paper, we explore how varying levels of pre-contract, asymmetric information affect the owner-manager relationship. We provide three main sets of insights. First, we find that the owner's payoffs are initially decreasing, and strictly convex everywhere, in the quality of the manager's private information. The owner thus prefers to deal with either a perfectly informed or a perfectly uninformed manager, and we characterize conditions for either to be the preferred choice. Second, in contrast to recent work, we demonstrate that when information can be communicated internally, the optimal strength of managerial incentives unambiguously decreases as the manager becomes better informed. Third, we derive the surprising result that a self-interested manager does not always prefer to maximize his informational advantage. Our work has implications for the optimal design of organizations, and for internal accounting and control systems in particular.

The sintering process involves a large number of parameters, more than 500, each of which exerts a greater or lesser influence and needs to be controlled, within the possible limits, in order to optimise productivity, process stability, and standardise the composition and quality of the sinter produced. To comply with environmental legislation, a pollution control system must monitor the particle matter and gases generated and emitted into the atmosphere by the sinter plant. Automation and control systems are vital tools to assist plant operators in the monitoring of each stage of the sinter production process.

Abstract. Multi-criterial analysis is becoming one of the main methods for evaluation of influence of geographic environment on human activity, or human activity on geographic environment, respectively. Analysis results are often used in command and control systems, especially in armed forces and units of rescue systems. For analyses, digital geographic data – whose quality significantly influences the reached results – are used. Visualization of results of analyses in command and control systems are usually thematic layers over raster images of topographic maps. That is why this visualization must correspond to cartographic principles used for the creation of thematic maps. The article presents problems that an analyst encounters within the evaluation of the quality of the used data, performance of the analysis itself as well as preparation of data files for their transfer and publishing in command and control systems.

The paper presents the results of electricity quality measurements conducted in six agri-food processing plants equipped with receivers of different sensitivity to the quality of the supply voltage. In particular, statistical assessment has been conducted for the value of the parameters characterizing the supply voltage, describing the parameters using the basic statistical measures and comparing them with the normative requirements. The paper also presents examples of the hazards to electrical drives and control systems caused by such industrial electromagnetic interferences as voltage changes or deformations of voltage waveform.

Credit risk exposure evaluation is driven by the quality of the information available on the debtors and customers with multiple lending exposures, which could be evaluated differently by different lenders. The existence of an information asymmetry among lenders can be mitigated using private information sharing instruments, such as the credit registers. The paper analyses the effect of information disclosure through credit registers and evaluates the impact of revising the amount of credit offered to customers served also by other lenders. The results show that the information available for each lender is different and after the disclosure of past due or a default status declared by a financial intermediary, all the other lenders react to the new information available.

Measurement, regulation and control systems offer direct savings and reduce energy consumption, regulating heating, cooling, ventilation or lighting in the intelligent buildings. They provide quick and accurate information on the status of regulated systems or possible malfunction. Systems can use the special meteorological stations to get information about wind velocity and direction, outdoor temperature, intensity and direction of sunlight. They respond flexibly to changes in external parameters. Intelligent buildings combine architecture and aesthetics of the construction, safety, comfort and quality of the living. These buildings are productive, energy efficient and environmentally acceptable. Intelligent buildings combine internal and external intelligence building, intelligence used materials and constructions. The most important aspect is the cooperation of people with those systems. Intelligent buildings should be permanent, healthy, technologically advanced.

In the situation of transition from information and control systems to a network-centric architecture and development of net-centric information and control system, the relevance of interoperability assurance in such systems is increasing. An approach to interoperability of network protocols and interfaces, quality of service architectures is proposed as a part of developing a model of technical interoperability of network-centric information and control system based on Russia's state standard no. 55062-2012. It is shown that capabilities of technical interoperability for network protocols and interfaces, quality of service architectures include dimensions of network bandwidth, speed of traffic flows, timeliness of transmission, jitter, probability of packet loss. The current study takes place as a part of Russian Foundation for basic research finance project no. 19-07-00774.

The development of technology is expected to help humans in quality of life. The industrial world is making preparations for industrial revolution 4.0 which is designed to integrate the online world with production lines in industrial processes. All production processes in the 4.0 era and running with the internet as support. The internet has become one of the human's main needs. At present, the development of the internet has not yet developed with the development of protection and control systems in the electricity sector. A breakthrough is needed to create the necessary protection systems and also control the load. A Smart Plug is a breakthrough that can accommodate this. Relays available on Smart Plugs can be used as protection and control devices on household electrical appliances. To read current and load, the current sensor (ZHT 03) and voltage sensor (ZMPT101B) are used. All sensor and relay data is performed by Arduino Nano. Whereas NodeMCU 12-E is used to connect the Smart Plug with the web and database. Smart Plug test results with the web site show that Smart Plug can work well on protection and control systems. This is evidenced by the interrupted current flowing at the load, the load compilation current is more than the value of the current that has been determined as the set point. While the control system can also work optimally. Relays can be received according to orders given from the website.

Measurement, dosing, and control systems for liquids are based on applications dedicated to measuring the amount of liquid, controlled filling of enclosures and disinfection of liquids and surfaces. The applications of such a system are multiple, from maintaining the quality of drinking water to the maintenance of swimming pools and can be extended to the food and pharmaceutical industries. This paper presents an experimental setup for monitoring and controlling water in an aquarium, and it was made with commercially available elements, which have a low cost and with microcontrollers specific to the development boards. The system is controlled with the help of development boards and has a didactic purpose, the paper presenting the process of choosing the components and the development of the application.

This paper introduces a kind of position measurement and control systems in automatic wheelset assembly machine. This system adopts direct close-loop position control in the process of pressing and real time monitor position of wheel and axle with high accuracy. Compared with traditional wheelset assembly machine, it can improve production efficiency and ensure the quality of pressing through control the distance between backs of wheel flange and the position difference of two wheels accurately.
