Ensuring the transport process requires proper interaction of all parts of the system "driver - car - road - environment" and its subsystems. In this case, the driver is often a "weak" component of the system, and his actions can reduce the level of road users` safety. It should be noted that the reliability of the driver can be considered as the probability of his trouble-free and error-free operation, as well as the proper level of his regulatory mechanisms functioning. In this case, to analyze the activities and readiness of the driver for his professional activities, indicators of functional status are often used. Thus, the study of the "human factor" in the transport process is an important task to ensure the reliability of the whole transport system. Today the most of all transportation is carried out by road. The timeliness and safety of cargo delivery and passenger safety depend on the driver's actions. At the same time, the driver is influenced by a considerable number of external environmental factors during his work. One of the most important factors is the mountainous traffic conditions, which often have many changes in plan and the profile of roads. Another feature of such traffic conditions is the height above sea level, affecting the human body, particularly its functional state. Considering the above, the paper measures the heart rate variability of bus drivers moving on a route that was partly in the mountain's conditions. During the research, video recording and registration of the vehicle's geolocation were also carried out. This made it possible to establish indicators of the driver`s functional state in specific periods. After processing the obtained values, the influence of mountainous traffic conditions on the bus drivers` indicator of regulatory systems’ activity was established.

The research was carried out on two independent experimental groups of boys and girls. The first was observed in traffic conditions, the second during the period of auto-simulator training. The HRV indices were determined: HR - heart rate, IN - index of tension of regulatory systems, AMo - amplitude of the mode, LF/HF - index of vagosympathetic interaction. A pronounced sympathetic reaction of more prepared cadets to the training load with the subsequent restoration of the studied characteristics was revealed. Pedestrian safety has become a serious problem with the rapid growth of motorised vehicle in transportation system in developing counties. Pedestrians often respond differently to changes in surrounding and traffic conditions. A study was undertaken to investigate pedestrians’ gap acceptance and the parameters affecting their risk-taking behaviours based on time-to-collision and post-encroachment-time indexes. Three signalised intersections and two midblock crossings were selected in Qazvin, Iran. A total of 752 pedestrians were examined by video recording and field observation, and pedestrians’ gap acceptance behaviour was estimated by using binary logit model. Results showed that the average time to collision and post-encroachment time were 4.27 s and 1.44 s, respectively. In addition, the presence of children alongside the older pedestrians led to a less risk-taking crossing. Additionally, pedestrian risk-taking was reduced by increasing both time indexes. Rainy weather also reduced pedestrians’ risk-taking behaviour. Elasticity analysis indicated that parameters such as pedestrians’ conflict with vehicles at the first or second half of the crossings, walking with a child, speed of the approaching vehicle, the crossing type and running while crossing were the most important factors in pedestrian risk-taking.

Knowledge of the characteristics of speed at roundabouts is very important in design procedures, simulation models, and determining the influence of these roundabouts on traffic conditions in a street network. Sustainable management in the street network means the influence of all its parts on traffic conditions and travel time. In order to reliably determine roundabouts parameters in the procedures of planning and the choice of sustainable method of traffic management, it is very important to know the values of the traffic flow parameters, particularly the speeds at the entry and exit leg, as well as in the circulatory zone. This article analyses the speed characteristics in traffic flow at urban roundabouts with different geometrical characteristics in the city of Banja Luka. The applied method for traffic data collecting in this research was the method of video recording processing, which excludes any influence on driver behavior. Furthermore, statistical analysis was conducted, which established the correlation between the achieved speeds and geometrical characteristics of the intersection. Due to roundabout characteristics, the research was focused on the access, that is, the entry leg, the segment of the circulatory zone and the exit leg. The research results showed there is a significant dependence between geometrical characteristics of certain elements of the roundabout on speeds. In the further course of the research, it was proved that the variation of speeds at the segments of roundabouts significantly affects the size of time losses and emission of pollutants, i.e., parameters based on which it is possible to objectively assess the possibility of sustainable implementation of the planned solution of roundabouts of similar geometry within the street network in cities similar to Banja Luka.

A variety of factors influence the performance of schoolchildren. The main factors are psycho-emotional stress and systematic physical activity that requires a constant tension of body's regulatory systems aimed at mobilizing the functional body reserves. The analysis of blood pressure enables to estimate quantitative and qualitative changes in the regulation of the cardiovascular system. The combination of the Stroop test and the monitoring of the cardiovascular system make it possible to assess not only attention and cognitive function parameters, but the phases of the stress response of regulatory systems as well. The purpose of the study was to analyze the relationship between stress factor and the functional state of adolescent cardiovascular system. In the context of stress factor (Stroop test), the circulatory system of students gets activated, and its indicators vary differently among boys and girls. At rest, girls have the lowest performance of the circulatory system. Before the test, heart rates vary in boys and girls in different ways. In the course of our study, we have found out a direct relationship between heart rate, blood pressure before and after psycho-emotional load that testifies the predominance of the sympathoadrenal system activity. We have revealed the arterial hypertension is determined by physiological and social factors. Prevention of arterial hypertension in existing standards of schools requires reconsidering and improving of educational approaches, especially in terms of physical education.

Nowadays, the transport industry plays an important role in human well-being and the functioning of any settlement. Transport systems are involved in almost all areas of production and services. Therefore, any failure in its operation can lead to significant material costs. One of the most important such systems is “driver - vehicle - road - environment”. It should be noted, that the main link in it is “driver”. The correctness and duration of decision-making in different road situations depend on the driver`s functional state. This directly affects the level of traffic safety. Consequently, the tasks of modern transport research are the introduction of methods of the vehicle driver`s conditions monitoring and the detection of his fatigue in its early stages. That`s why the actuality of studying the human operator role in the transport process and the creation of modern means of driving assistance are increasing now.

In modern society are widely used innovative technologies in transport management. It is known that a significant part of the cargo turnover is carried out by road transport. Therefore, the use of various digital and information methods that ensure high productivity and cost-effectiveness of cargo delivery is highly relevant. Increasing the share of transportation costs in the total cost of goods produced using methods of logistic analysis to improve the efficiency of freight traffic. A significant role in this process is played by modern innovative technologies that make it possible to monitor the conditions of the transport process and select the optimal option for cargo delivery.
