Despite the fact that in the last decade the percentage of young people among the population in Russia has noticeably decreased, this social group and its leisure activities are of particular interest for research aimed at identifying the hobbies and interests of modern young people and their connection with addictive behavior. The article examines the content of the concept of “leisure activities” in the youth environment. The presence of contradictions in the use of the synonymous concepts of “leisure” and “free time” is noted. Characterized the fundamental differences between the concepts of “leisure”, “hobby” and “interests”. The authors also touch on the issue of the relationship between modern hobbies and interests of young people with the development of cyber-addictive behavior. Presented the results of a study conducted among schoolchildren in Tomsk on identifying the interests of modern youth and the presence/absence or predisposition of the teenage group to Internet addiction in connection with their leisure activities. Revealed that almost half of the respondents do not have a specific hobby. When analyzing the data obtained during the study, revealed that, with a higher probability, the emergence of cyber addiction is characteristic of those who have no hobbies at all, as well as those whose leisure activities are passive. Also revealed that schoolchildren in the city of Tomsk are addicted to social networks and computer games, with more than half of the respondents revealed a predisposition to Internet-addicted behavior, and one fifth of the respondents have already formed cyber-addicted behavior.

The «Network Society» is identified by accelerated changes that occur between real and virtual worlds. The progress of digital devices has generated a new model of leisure that it has conditioned family interactions. The aim of this research was to identify the relationship between digital leisure experiences and perceived family functioning in post-compulsory secondary education Spanish students. The sample was composed of 1,764 Spanish young people 15-18 years old; all of them were post-compulsory secondary education students. Students’ digital leisure activities were measured by an opening question by which they indicated the three most important leisure activities for them, and family functioning was measured by the answers from the Spanish adaptation for FACES IV questionnaire (Family Adaptability and Cohesion Scale). A descriptive analysis about digital leisure activities of young people was used. The family functioning coefficient of each subject was determined and, finally, the relationship between students’ family functioning perceived and students’ digital leisure practices assessed by a factorial analysis of variance (ANOVA). Young people give importance to digital leisure activities, highlighting social network participation, playing videogames and browsing the Internet. Cohesion, flexibility and family functioning are healthier when children don´t point to any digital activity into their preferred leisure practices. The results suggest that new research should be conducted to confirm whether this negative association between family functioning and digital leisure is causal or due to other factors.

Internet addiction is an excessive, ingrained habit and a thoughtless on-line/offline computer usage which can be divided into three subgroups related with games, web pages with sexual contents or email and internet chat programs. The causal factors of this trouble are still debated.AimsThe purpose of our study is to survey the habits of teenagers concerning the use of internet and furthermore to investigate the frequency of internet addiction and its predisposing factors.Material and methodsWe investigated the habits of high school students (n = 154) in the county of Mureş using questionnaires (Internet Addiction Test).ResultsYoung people spend daily an average of 3 hours and 38 minutes in front of a computer. 45% of the boys spend daily more than two hours with computer games while 74, 53% of the girls chat daily. 3, 41% of the adolescents think that they spend a lot of time on the net and their learning and school problems are a result of this. 9,3% of the teenage boys spend daily more than 4 hours 20 minutes in front of a computer (weekly 30 hours), what is qualified as dependence according to the American specialists. There is a strong correlation between internet addiction and parents divorce.ConclusionsThe rate of young people addicted to internet gains considerable importance. Moreover this addiction is associated with other addictions so there would be a serious need for health education programs already in high schools.

Abstract:The widespread use of the Internet has facilitated that young people become sexually active on the Internet. Some studies suggest that alcohol consumption or abuse of Internet are factors that influence the practice of cybersex. For this reason, we propose this work in order to explore the relationship between these variables and cybersex. Taking a sample of 127 students 14 years old, we have found that there is a deep relationship between Internet abuse, cybersex, and different aspects of alcohol consumption. From these results, we discuss important implications for the nosological status and general knowledge of Internet sex. Palabras clave: Cibersexo, adicción a Internet, alcohol, Adolescentes

BACKGROUND While many studies document that insecure attachment (e.g., anxious attachment) is associated with Internet addictive behavior in youth, little is known about the mediating mechanisms underlying this association—particularly in Chinese college youth. The current study examines whether resilience mediates the relationship between anxious attachment and Internet addictive behavior. OBJECTIVE The current study examines whether resilience mediates the relationship between anxious attachment and Internet addictive behavior. METHODS Our hypothesis model was tested using data collected from 1,004 Chinese college students (60.7% males, Mage = 19.54 years) including questionnaires with adult attachment scale, resilience subscale, Internet addiction test, and background information. RESULTS After controlling for demographic variables, resilience was found to partially mediate the association between anxious attachment and Internet addictive behavior, with anxiety attachment type associating with lower level of resilience and with low level of resilience associating with higher level Internet addiction. It indicated individuals’ anxious attachment may handicap resilience development, which further puts anxiously attached youths at greater risk of Internet addictive behavior. CONCLUSIONS These findings highlight the importance of promoting psychological resilience in intervening with and/or preventing Internet addictive behavior in Chinese youth.

In this chapter, I look at the relationship between games and assessment—and more broadly at what that tells us about the relationship between educational reform and technological change. Research already shows that with their ability to provide rich, complex, and compelling virtual worlds, well-designed computer games can teach players innovative and creative ways of thinking, deep understanding of complex academic content, and valuable forms of real-world skills. But, in the end, even effective games can only take students as far as the tests will let them go. If we want to use games to prepare young people for life in a changing world, we need to change how we think about assessment first. To address this challenge, in what follows I examine one way to think about assessing the development of innovative and creative thinking through game-play.

In the present study we compare the construct of disembodiment on the Internet (N. V. Kopteva, A.Ju. Kalugin, L.Ya. Dorfman) based on the clinical conception by the British existential psychologist R. Laing and measured by the same-name technique to the framework consequence of the normative use of the Internet - changes of the psychological borders (E. I. Rasskazova, V. A. Emelin and A. Sh. Tkhostov) assessed by MIG-TS-2 technique. We identified the relationship between measurements of disembodiment and parameters of changes of psychological borders which may indicate that artificial technological split between the mental self and the physical body of a user creates conditions for confusion on the boundary between self and non-self. Expansion and blurring of the borders of an Internet user reinforces virtualizationinduced experiences of depersonalization and loss of reality regardless of whether the technology meets their expectations of availability and controllability of other people, objects and information or doesn’t. Motivation of Internet preference due to the opportunities that independence of the physical body and changes of boundaries present mostly follows the same pattern. Simplicity and easiness of the disembodied technological way of being within the expanded blurry borders makes the Web attractive and explains the relationship between the disembodiment and Internet addiction which can be viewed as distortion of normative technological disembodiment in cases of problematic user’s activity.

The research was oriented to the development of perception of the use of social networks in young people of the city of Ica. The study sought to know the habits and customs of those investigated, about the use of networks and the role played by the devices that produce, receive, process, store and transmit information without distance conditions, and in real time. The research was qualitative as well as descriptive. The population consisted of 59,247 young people aged 20 to 30 years and the sample 384 young people (120 were women and 264 men). The survey technique was used and the instrument was the questionnaire. It was concluded that young people, due to their personal characteristics and the conflicts that they are experiencing, require a personal and social world where family, friends and loved ones share their lives. Social networks are constituted as an alternative to satisfy these needs, which is generating an increase in their addiction day by day because they are participants in the various alternatives that these environments offer. The results were: 43.49% said that they frequently use the internet, 25.7% said that Facebook is the social network of their preference, another 54.17 said that it is essential to use the social network of their preference, 34.9% said that important activities for being connected to a social network, in addition to a 40.36 established that what most attracts them is talking with friends.
