Abstract: The achievement of EG and development is considered the core objective for both Developing Countires (DCs) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs), so countries try to get adequate funding to achieve this goal through optimal macroeconomic policies and different strategies. Countries prefer other mechanisms with less burden and cost to achieve economic growth, such as FDI flows. International development-oriented institutions such as WB and IMF recommend and consider FDI flows are the most important factors of the modern technology transfer, management, and know-how, which is necessarily needed in the local investment projects in poor countries, so FDI represents optimal external sources of growth. The objective of this study is to explain the impact of FDI on the EG of Djibouti. To achieve this objective the study used a secondary annual time series data for the period 1985-2019 by the method of Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The study results showed that FDI in the case of Djibouti tends to be statistically insignificant effects and a limited impact on Djibouti‘s EG, Moreover, other factors such as the Human Development Index(HDI), and Gross Fixed Capital Formation(GFCF), Trade Openness(TOP) shows significant effects on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Finally, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has no significance in the EG of Djibouti. The findings provide critical information to Djibouti policy decision-makers to make an informed decision with regard to attracting investment sectors and policies in encouraging foreign investors to invest in the country. KEYWORDS: Foreign Direct Investment, Economic Growth, Djibouti, Empirical Analysis.

This study aims to determine the effect of City Minimum Wage and human development based on maqashid shari'a on the amount of poverty in Grobogan, Central Java. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data types obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Office of the Ministry of Religion Grobogan Regency. This research method uses multiple regression analysis techniques with time-series data from 2011 to 2017. Data analysis in this study uses Eviews 7 software. The results showed that the city minimum wage had a negative effect on the amount of poverty in Grobogan Regency. Whereas human development based on maqashid shari'a has a negative and not significant effect on the amount of poverty in Grobogan Regency. Human development based on maqashid shari'a has a negative and insignificant effect due to poverty measurement used by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) using the concept of ability to meet basic needs (basic need approach). With this approach, poverty is seen as an inability from the economic side to meet the basic needs of food and non-food which are measured in terms of expenditure and income, so that other components cannot be directly linked to poverty.

This study empirically examines the impact of financial structure decision on the profitability of Nigerian quoted firms. Cross-sectional time series data of 72 Nigerian quoted firms were collated and analysed. Two hypotheses were proposed for the study, while the ordinary least square (OLS), fixed-effects (FE) and the gerneralised least square (GLS) regression were used on pooled and panel data to estimate the relationship between financial leverage and the different measures of profitability in Nigeria quoted firms. In determining the extent of the influence of leverage on the dependent variables, most of the industrial groups showed evidence of sizable positive influence of leverage on profitability and earnings yield. This was significant and robust with all the measures of leverage.

Profitability is one benchmark to show a company operational performance. Various factors influence the amount of profitability. This research aims to analyze the influence of the amount of premium income, total investment, claims expense and operational costs on the profitability gained during the period 2011-2017. This paper conducts multiple linear analysis, namely OLS (Ordinary Least Square) with secondary data in the form of time-series data. The results of the t-test indicate that the claims expense variable has a negative and significant effect. Meanwhile, the operational cost variable has a positive and significant impact. On the contrary, the premium variable and the amount of investment both have a positive but not significant effect. Moreover, the results of the F test show that the variables of premium, investment, claims expense and operating costs have a considerable impact on the profitability of Sinar Mas Islamic Insurance.

This analytical study investigates the determinants of non-performing loan in Pakistan. Secondary data is used in this study. The data is collected through World Bank Databank, international financial statistics and various issues of economic survey of Pakistan. The issue of Non-Performing Loan is one of the clusters of financial problems in Pakistan. No one can deny the importance of financial sector in any economy. In this study we find the macroeconomic factor that surge the NPL. We also suggest some strategies to cutback the non-performing loans. Current study uses the time series data of Pakistan, ranging from 1990 to 2013. Ordinary least square (OLS) method is used to investigate the problem. The dependent variable is non-performing loan and independent variables are exchange rate, interest rate, GDP, share prices, energy crisis, exchange rate and energy crisis. GDP has significant relationship with NPL and interest rate, share prices have insignificant relationships with NPL. A positive link has established between non-performing loans and various independent variables like energy crisis, exchange rate, interest rate, share prices. But on the other hand a negative relationship has been found between dependent variable and GDP.

This study is aimed to know the influence of price, substitution price, consumer income, and the number of vehicles toward the order of Pertamina lubricant in Banda Aceh. For the analysis purpose, multiple regression analysis is used. This research used time series data which was started from 1991 until 2015. The data was a secondary data taken from the Statistic Center Board of Pertamina, and from related institution as well as from various types of sources related to this research. The model used was Marshallian Linear Request function which was analyzed by multiple linear equations through Ordinary Least Square (OLS) approach. This research produced a satisfying result. This was seen from simultaneous and partial examination whereas all free variables in this research impacted significantly toward the order of the lubricant under Mesran trademark. Based on the estimation, price variable was resulting negative, meanwhile substitution price, consumer income and the number of vehicles were resulting positive toward the order of the lubricant of Mesran trademark. This result matched the existing theory. The 94,89 percent determinant coefficient (R2) means that free variable which consisted of variable of Mesran lubricant, substitution price, consumer income, and the number of vehicles were able explain the changes of the order of Mesran lubricant for approximately 94,89 percent, while the remaining 5,51 percent was explained by other variables, such as desire, model, and consumer income distribution, etc., which were excluded of this research model.Pertamina should keep enough supply of lubricant to maintain its normal price in Banda Aceh.
