Tourism is one of the most important sectors in the Republic of Croatia. It plays a significant role in its economic development. This research investigates whether the macro-variables have an impact on the stock returns in the hospitality industry. The focus of the work consists in causality relationship between four macro variables (consumer price index, industrial production, exchange rate and number of tourist arrivals) and a stock index composed of Croatian hospitality companies. After applying Granger-causality tests based on the VAR methodology, results suggest that only consumer price index Granger-cause stock returns in the hospitality industry in the observed period from July 2008 to July 2018. Further analysis through impulse response function indicates that the impulse responses of inflation meet expectations in terms of the direction of impact. In the second month, stock prices react negatively to shock, implying that higher inflation causes negative stock price returns. After applying the variance decomposition method, a very low explanatory power of consumer price index on stock returns in the hospitality industry was revealed. This paper contributes to the existing literature on the topic of the impact of macro-economic variables on hospitality stock returns by extending the scope to Croatia and by testing a different set of variables compared to those from previous studies.

This study examines the impact of capital market reforms on the Nigerian economic growth between 1981 and 2010. The prevailing challenges in the World financial markets; especially the capital market justifies the various forms of reforms going on around the World. The ordinary least square method of regression and the Johansen co-integration analysis were employed to analyse the secondary data sourced from the Central Bank of Nigeria statistical bulletin, the Nigeria Stock Exchange Fact book and the Nigeria Security and Exchange Commission Reports. The results show that capital reforms positively impact the economic growth. The study recommends among others that government should objectively evaluate enacted laws and reforms agenda in a manner that will enhance economic growth rather than considering political issues before embarking on reforms.

This paper examines the impact of interest rate adjustment on the stock market in China. We collect the interest rate adjustment periods from April 21, 1991 to October 24, 2015 since the estab¬lishment of the stock market. Through an Error Correction model together with Granger causality, we investigate responses of the stock index to interest rate adjustment. Our findings suggest that there is existing a long-term reverse relationship between interest rate adjustment and stock index. The impact of interest rate adjustment on stock index returns could not be long-term disequilibria, which will be corrected in short-time. Also, the interest rate is the granger cause of the stock price index, while the stock price index is not the granger cause of interest rate.

This study aims to examine the legal politics of nominee agreement in Indonesia. The research method used is normative juridical, which conceptualizes the law as what is written in the legislation or the law as a rule or norm that is a benchmark of human behavior that is considered appropriate. This type of legal research is carried out by examining secondary data in the field of law as library data using deductive thinking methods. The results stated that there are no specific rules that override or provide other possibilities related to the issue of absolute ownership of shares by shareholders registered in the register of shareholders of a limited liability company. The unauthorized nominee of agreement in Indonesia is prohibited. The prohibition on nominee agreement is clearly stated in Law No. 25 of 2007 concerning investment. In fact, nominee agreement has grown and developed in the community, due to community needs. Establishment of nominee agreements in practice can be categorized into the formation of direct nominee agreements, namely by directly making agreements between those who affirm that ownership of shares in a company is limited to and on behalf of others. Thus, the legal profession such as notary, legal consultant and lawyer in this case must provide legal counseling, and participate in supervisory duties. As a profession, it should keep the professional code of ethics instead of making unauthorized nominee by making a nominee agreement.

The event that became the object of observation was the trade war that occurred between the United States and China by using 12 events related to trade wars starting from 2014 to 2019, using the abnormal return indicator. The sample in this study are companies that are in the LQ45 stock index. The data used is secondary data in the form of the company's daily closing price and the Composite Stock Price Index (CSPI). The statistical test used to test the research hypothesis is the paired t-test which was tested on 11 events, and there was 1 event using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the trade war between the United States and China did not result in a significant difference in abnormal returns on LQ45 stocks with the observed period. So it can be said that the Indonesian capital market did not react to the 12 events of the trade war between the United States and China.
