This research discloses how character education builds students’ character at SekolahAlam Minangkabau and SekolahAlamAr-Royyan Padang, so students not only have knowledge capabilities but also provide character social attitudes. This is a qualitative typified research. The data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The validity of the data was examined through the triangulation method while Miles and Huberman’s theory of analysis were used in analyzing the data. The results of the research suggest that: The characters of the students in both schools are religious, tolerant, obedient, diligent, creative, independent, curious, communicative, ecofriendly, and responsive. The students’ character is built through macro and micro strategies. The varieties of the character education used in both schools include the curriculum, facility, educational program, extracurricular as well as the time and the way the character education is implemented. The students’ parents view the character education as a support for them in developing their children’s personality,itinfluences the students’ daily activities outside the schools,and moreover, it alsoestablishes a good communication between the teacher and the students’ parents.

Formation to build character in the digital era in the world of education through the development of ethical values and performance support to form the foundation of individual characters expected. Developments in the digital era influence individual lifestyles and patterns of relationships so as to form a new paradigm for helping human needs in carrying out the duties and expectations. The purpose of building character besides having benefits also have a negative impact can be described in the attitudes and behavior of individuals, which occurs demoralisasasi. The method used in building individual character that balance the mind / creativity, feeling / sense of, and willingness / intention in executing their daily duties. The result is an imbalance in the event over them in carrying out daily activities using irrational thoughts, dishonest, irresponsible, did not have a good work ethic. How to cope with the character education should play an active role in shaping the students to have a good character, capable of being honest, responsible, disciplined, passionate, creative and communication skills to achieve success both socially and career aligned with technology development is very fast and sophisticated. AbstractThe unprecedented efforts to minimize the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic introduce a new arena for human face recognition in which faces are partially occluded with masks. Here, we tested the extent to which face masks change the way faces are perceived. To this end, we evaluated face processing abilities for masked and unmasked faces in a large online sample of adult observers (n = 496) using an adapted version of the Cambridge Face Memory Test, a validated measure of face perception abilities in humans. As expected, a substantial decrease in performance was found for masked faces. Importantly, the inclusion of masks also led to a qualitative change in the way masked faces are perceived. In particular, holistic processing, the hallmark of face perception, was disrupted for faces with masks, as suggested by a reduced inversion effect. Similar changes were found whether masks were included during the study or the test phases of the experiment. Together, we provide novel evidence for quantitative and qualitative alterations in the processing of masked faces that could have significant effects on daily activities and social interactions.

Giving stimulus from educators in the form of giving appreciation and punishment will greatly affect the way of thinking and behavior of students in achieving the goals of character education that have been set. This study aims to describe the implementation of reward and punishment in shaping the character of students' discipline. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation and documentation. The validity of the data used source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of this study indicate: (1) The implementation of rewards in shaping the discipline character of students is done by giving rewards in the form of praise and giving appreciation in the form of gifts. (2) The implementation of punishment in shaping the disciplinary character of students is carried out by giving gradual warnings, giving spontaneous warnings and written warning letters. (3) Evaluation of the implementation of rewards and punishments in shaping the character of students' discipline is using process evaluation, which is an assessment carried out during the learning process by observing the attitudes of students everyday when they are in the madrasa environment.. Keywords: Reward; Punishment; Discipline; Learners Pemberian stimulus dari pendidik berupa pemberian apresiasi dan hukuman akan sangat mempengaruhi cara berpikir dan tingkah laku peserta didik dalam mencapai tujuan pendidikan karakter yang sudah ditetapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi reward dan punishment dalam membentuk karakter disiplin peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi tehnik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: (1) Implementasi reward dalam membentuk karakter kedisiplinan peserta didik dilakukan dengan memberikan reward dalam bentuk pujian serta memberikan apresiasi dalam bentuk hadiah. (2) Implementasi punishment dalam membentuk karakter kedisiplinan peserta didik dilakukan dengan cara memberi peringatan secara bertahap, memberi teguran spontan dan surat peringatan tertulis. (3) Evaluasi implementasi reward dan punishment dalam membentuk karakter kedisiplinan peserta didik adalah menggunakan evaluasi proses, yaitu penilaian yang dilakukan di saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung dengan mengamati dari sikap peserta didik sehari-hari ketika berada di lingkungan madrasah. This research aims to find out the deeper on the character education in SMKN (vocational school) Pleret Bantul Jogjakarta which covers: (1) some patterns of religious values education in Vocational High School of Pleret Bantul Yogyakarta students, namely: (a) do praying before and after the activities (studying); (b) To do Dhuhur and Asar prayers in the mosque ;  (c) Dhuha prayer; (d) To read Al-Qur`an every morning in Ramadhan before learning teaching process; (e) Sunnah fasting of Monday-Thursday, f. hadroh music; (2)  the internalization of emotional quotient; and (3) It is the positive effect of character education toward students of SMKN Pleret Bantul. The research was  a  descriptive qualitative approach. Technique of data collection by interview, observation of participant and documentation. The data analysis was by reduction, display and provided conclusions. The result of this study shows : (1) the transformation of Spiritual Quotient values : Various patterns of character values education are beneficial to the values of the students' faith of the character values. Students had religiosity is a way of religious individuals who incorporate religious values into their personalities; (2) the emotional quotient values which is described in the character values of students, namely: students have empathy attitude to help another, have good self-awareness, have moods and emotions, and have the high motivation  and have ability to build good communication with another; (3)there are the positive effect of Spiritual Quotient (SQ) values and emotional quotient (EQ) in students’ character and have good academic achievement.

Abstract: The purpose of the research is to describe the implementation of Islamic culture in MIN I Malang, describe the Islamic character developed in MIN I Malang, identify the obstacles in the implementation of Islamic culture in MIN I Malang, and describe the efforts made by school institutions to overcome these obstacles. The research method was conducted using descriptive qualitative. Data is collected using structured interviews by taking the subject of teachers, school principals, and parents of students. The results show that the implementation of Islamic culture in schools begins with the construction of a system that directs the behavior of students with Islamic character through the habituation of Islamic behavior. Then supported by the implementation of the Koran, Kultum, and memorization of the Qur'an in the first fifteen minutes before school hours every day. Duha prayer, Dhuhr prayer, Friday prayer, and princess in school. The obstacle to developing Islamic culture in schools is the habit of parents who are sometimes not in line and the way to overcome them is by creating a Whatsapp group for students' parents.Keywords: Implementation, Islamic Culture, Character Education Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi budaya Islami di MIN I Malang, mendeskripsikan karakter Islami yang dikembangkan di MIN I Malang, mengetahui kendala dalam implementasi budaya Islami di MIN I Malang, dan memaparkan upaya yang dilakukan oleh lembaga sekolah untuk mengatasi kendala-kendala tersebut. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan deskriptif kualitatif. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan wawancara terstruktur dengan mengambil subjek guru, kepala sekolah, dan orang tua siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi budaya Islami di sekolah diawali dengan dibangunnya sistem yang mengarahkan perilaku siswa yang berkarakter Islami melalui pembiasaan perilaku Islami. Kemudian ditunjang dengan pelaksanaan mengaji, kultum, dan hafalan Al-Qur’an pada lima belas menit pertama sebelum jam masuk sekolah setiap harinya. Pelaksanaan shalat dhuha, shalat dhuhur, shalat jumat, dan keputrian di sekolah. Kendala dari pembasaan budaya Islami di sekolah adalah pembiasaan orang tua yang kadang tidak sejalan dan cara mengatasinya adalah dengan membuat grup Whatsapp bagi orang tua murid.Kata kunci: Implementasi, Budaya Islami, Pendidikan Karakter

According to a criterial referents theory of social attitudes, basic attitudinal dimensions such as progressivism and traditionalism in education tend to be independent because Ss will differentiate concepts criterial, or important, to their own positions more extensively than non-criterial concepts. Data reported in the present study, however, show that progressives do not appreciably differ from traditionalists in the way they structure both criterial and non-criterial concepts, though there is some suggestion that the domain and self concepts (EDUCATION, TEACHER, ME IN MY CHOSEN OCCUPATION) may gravitate toward their respective criterial referents.

The way in which some elderly widowers living alone experientially organize time can be viewed as on a continuum structured around the notion of a “day” as a central organizing focus. Related to this is the role of a “daily highlight” in organizing daily activities. The continuing role of bereavement, effects of living alone, and other factors may help structure this experiential continuum.

<em>This research aims to describe and explain the role of sarcasm, the value of character education in the collection of poetry Mencari Tanah Lapang by Wiji Thukul, and the relevance the role of sarcasm and the value of character education in the collection of poetry Mencari Tanah Lapang by Wiji Thukul on the teaching of literature in universities. Technique of subject sampling is purposive sampling. Data collection techniques used are document analysis and interviews. The validity of data in this study is done by using critical discourse analysis techniques. The results of this research are: (1) there are 62 sarcasm in the collection of poetry Mencari Tanah Lapang that serve as satirical of rules, satire of politics, satire of development, satire of education, satire of social inequality, and satire world health; (2)  the value of character education contained in the collection of poetry Mencari Tanah Lapang is religious values, honesty, tolerance, hard work, democracy, reading, and social care;(3) the role of sarcasm majors and the value of character education contained in the collection of poetry Mencari Tanah Lapang can be used as a literary teaching material with the subject of poetry in the study program of Indonesian literature.</em>

Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study seeks to reveal the basic framework of the culture of manners in Islamic universities in South Kalimantan, especially in the three Islamic Colleges in South Kalimantan. The adab was analyzed by pivoting on the values in the Ta'līm al-Muta'allim book. The results of this study also revealed comprehensively the perceptions of lecturers and students on manners in the learning process, the values of adab were analyzed using a value analysis approach using data collection techniques, interviews, surveys and observations. Based on the research results, it was indintified that the values of adab and the way of thinking of lecturers and students in the learning process are in accordance with the values of adab as stated in the Ta'līm al-Muta'allim book. The awareness to implement certain adab was based on the goals to be achieved in the learning process or in the framework of seeking knowledge. Adab also takes place in certain dimensions, such as adab to Allah and the Prophet (spiritual attitude dimension) which is the core and basis of other dimensions; adab to humans (integration of the dimensions of spiritual and social attitudes); adab to oneself and to fellow humans (integration of the dimensions of spiritual & social attitudes). Some of the values implemented in the learning process could be seen in the doctrinal process of seeking knowledge conveyed by several lecturers to students, lecturers 'exposure to students regarding the virtues of studying, the students' intentions to study, the way students chose friends in association, how the students respected the lecturers, time management in learning, and some implementation of values that were in line with what was stated in the Ta'līm al-Muta'allim book.Kajian lapangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif ini berupaya mengungkapkan kerangka dasar budaya adab yang berlangsung di perguruan tinggi Islam di Kalimantan Selatan, khususnya di tiga Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam yang ada di Kalimantan Selatan. Adab tersebut dianalisis dengan kacamata nilai-nilai yang tertuang dalam kitab Ta’lîm al-Muta’allim. Selain itu, hasil penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan secara komprehensif mengenai persepsi dosen dan mahasiswa mengenai adab dalam proses pembelajaran, nilai-nilai adab tersebut dianalisis dengan pendekatan analisis nilai dengan menggunakan teknik mengumpulan data wawancara, survei, dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa nilai-nilai adab dan cara berfikir dosen dan mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan pembelajaran sangat sesuai dengan nilai-nilai adab yang tertuang dalam kitab Ta’lîm al-Muta’allim. Kesadaran untuk mengimplementasikan adab tertentu didasari pada tujuan yang hendak dicapai dalam proses pembelajaran atau dalam kerangka mencari ilmu pengetahuan. Adab juga berlangsung dalam dimensi-dimensi tertentu, seperti adab kepada Allah dan Nabi (dimensi sikap spiritual) yang menjadi inti dan dasar dimensi lainnya; adab kepada manusia (integrasi dimensi sikap spiritual dan sosial); adab kepada diri sendiri dan kepada sesama manusia (integrasi dimensi sikap spiritual dan sosial). Adapun beberapa nilai yang terimplementasikan dalam proses pembelajaran dapat terlihat dalam proses doktrin tentang hukum mencari ilmu yang disampaikan oleh beberapa dosen kepada mahasiswa, adanya pemaparan dosen kepada mahasiswa terkait keutamaan menuntut ilmu, niat para mahasiswa menuntut ilmu, cara para mahasiswa dalam memilih sahabat dalam pergaulan, cara para mahasiswa menghormati dosen, pengaturan waktu dalam belajar, dan beberapa implementasi nilai yang sejalan dengan apa yang tertuang dalam kitab Ta’lîm al-Muta’allim.

The Globalization may gives negative impact that causes fading the culture and spreading the radicalism easily. Education is one of way to prevent it, the name is the learning approach. The objective of the research is to describe the form of implementation the KALBU approach (Local Wisdom and Culture) towards biological learning in Purworejo. The research method is descriptive research, the name is study of literature. The literature study was carried out by analyzing local wisdom and culture in Purworejo District, which numbered 8 (eight). After that, 8 (eight) local wisdom and culture were associated with Biology learning. Based on the result, the Local Wisdom and Culture (KALBU) approach can be used as an alternative approach to learning Biology. Eight local wisdoms and cultures contain 3 (three) domains, they arecognitive, psychomotoric, and attitudes. Cognitive domains that can be integrated include: biodiversity, plantae, animalia, conservation, food and medicine, and biotechnology. Psychomotoric domain include: classifying, making products (projects), and innovating. Furthermore, 8 (eight) local wisdom and culture also contains the domain of spiritual and social attitudes (Character Education Strengthening). Globalisasi dapat memberikan dampak negatif yaitu menyebabkan lunturnya budaya dan tersebarnya paham radikalisme dengan mudah. Salah satu upaya untuk mencegah hal tersebut adalah melalui pendidikan yaitu pendekatan pembelajaran.Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk implementasi pendekatan KALBU (Kearifan Lokal dan Budaya) tentang pembelajaran Biologi di Kabupaten Purworejo.Metode penelitian berupa penelitian deskriptif yang bersifat studi pustaka. Studi pustaka dilakukan dengan menganalisis mengenai kearifan lokal dan budaya di Kabupaten Purworejo yaitu berjumlah 8 (delapan). Setelah itu, 8 (delapan) kearifan lokal dan budaya tersebut dikaitkan dengan pembelajaran Biologi. Berdasarkan kajian yang dilakukan, pendekatan Kearifan Lokal dan Budaya (KALBU) dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif pendekatan dalam pembelajaran. Delapan kearifan lokal dan budaya mengandung 3 (tiga) ranah yaitu ranah pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan sikap. Ranah pengetahuan yang dapat diintegrasikan antara lain: keanekaragaman hayati, plantae, animalia, konservasi, pangan dan obat, serta bioteknologi. Ranah keterampilan meliputi: mengklasifkasikan, membuat produk (proyek), dan melakukan inovasi. Selanjutnya, 8 (delapan) kearifan lokal dan budaya tersebut juga mengandung ranah sikap spiritual dan sosial (Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter).
