This study aims to evaluate the internal quality management of each study program at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training of UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Place of the research is Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training of UIN Raden Intan Lampung. The type of the research used is quantitative research with Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Education (MBCfE) method. The results of the assessment use the Baldrige criteria. The results of the research  show that the performance of the Study Programs which occupy the Benchmark Leader level include: Islamic Education Management, English Education, Mathematics Education, Physics Education and Islamic Education, while the Study Programs which occupy the Industry Leader level include: Counseling Guidance, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Training (PGMI),  Raudatul Anfal Teacher Training (PGRA), Arabic Education, and Biology Education. The results of the study found that the main factors in determining the success of the study program management are leadership and human resources factors. While the factors that need to be developed in an effort to improve the quality of the study program are the factors of information management and analysis, strategic planning, and results of educational activities. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi manajemen mutu internal masing-masing program studi di Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Tempat penelitian di Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metode Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Education (MBCfE). Hasil dari penilaian menggunakan kriteria Baldrige. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja program studi yang menempati level Benchmark Leader meliputi: Manajemen Pendidikan Islam, Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Pendidikan Matematika, Pendidikan Fisika, dan Pendidikan Agama Islam. Sedangkan Kinerja Program Studi yang menempati level Industry Leader meliputi: Bimbingan Konseling, Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (PGMI), Pendidikan Guru Raudatul Anfal, Pendidikan Bahasa Arab, dan Pendidikan Biologi. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa faktor utama dalam menentukan keberhasilan pengelolaan program studi adalah faktor kepemimpinan dan sumber daya manusia. Sementara faktor yang perlu dikembangkan dalam upaya meningkatkan mutu prodi adalah faktor manajemen informasi dan analisis, perencanaan strategis, dan hasil-hasil kegiatan pendidikan.

Introduction: Most of the quality of Nursing Education in Surabaya is still at the low level. It is due to the fact that the process and job performances which have not been integrated yet, systematic and fl exible which are in line with the capacity of the organization and the needs of graduates. This study aims to develop a model of quality management systems of Nursing bachelor’s degree program based on the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria For Performance Excellence. Method: The method used is a cross sectional survey design. This research was conducted with a sample of eight institutions and twenty four of respondents. The data was collected by means of interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Analysis of the data used Partial Least Square (PLS). Result: The results showed that 1) leadership affects the study program as well as the profi le that affects job performances; 2) Leadership affects the strategic planning as well as the strategic planning that affects focus of Human Resources. In addition, the focus of human resources affects the focus process and fi nally affects job performances as well; 3) customer focus affects leadership as well as leadership affects strategic planning. As the impact, strategic planning affects focus of human resources and it affects similarly on the focus process and fi nally affects job performances; 4) All variables are affected by measurements, analysis and knowledge management, except in strategic planning. Discussion: Based on the above results, the model of quality management system can be developed by using the Malcolm Baldrige criteria for the purpose of increasing the quality of Nursing Study Program. On the other hands, this model can be used as a reference of the organization at the level of Nursing Study Program (Strategic Business Unit) to restructure the performance of the college in global competition.Keywords: model of quality management system, nursing study program, malcolm baldrige criteria for performance

This research is aimed at improving the lecturers of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Pakuan University paedagogic competence through the implementation of lesson study which covers learning management competence including developing chapter design and lesson design, media making, teaching and learning, evaluation, post evaluation follow-up and learning supervision. This research involves four study program. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive. The data are collected through documentation, observation, interview and questionnaire. The data are analyzed descriptively to investigate the improvement of the lecturers’ paedagogic competence in teaching through the implementation of lesson study. Lesson study has been implemented for two years in Indonesian and Literature Education Study Program, English Education Study Program, Biology Education Study Program, and Primary Education Study Program. The findings show that there is an improvement of the lecturers paedagogic competence in developing chapter design and lesson design, developing material and designing media for learning (plan stage); running the lesson (do stage); and observing the lesson as well as evaluating and reflecting it (see stage). Besides, it is found the lecturers develop learning innovation to create students’ active learning. The colleagality among the lecturers is also develop well through the implementation of lesson study. The questionnaire result also shows that the implementation of lesson study can make the student become autonomous learners.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Kepemimpinan Senior, Tata Kelola dan Tanggung Jawab Sosial Terhadap Kinerja Kepala Ruang Rawat Inap Rumah Sakit Karya Bhakti (RSKB) Bogor Tahun 2008. Kerangka teori dari penelitian ini diambil dari Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence (MBCfPE) bagi institusi kesehatan dalam Hertz (2008). Kriteria MBCfPE yang diambil adalah kepemimpinan (leadership) yang dijabarkan menjadi variabel Kepemimpinan Senior, Tata Kelola Dan Tanggung Jawab Sosial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah data primer dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan diolah dengan menggunakan metode analisis jalur (Path Analysis). Responden penelitian ini adalah semua perawat ruang rawat inap Dahlia Anyelir RSKB tahun 2008. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa Kepemimpinan Senior, Tata Kelola dan Tanggung Jawab Sosial mempengaruhi Kinerja Kepala Ruang sebesar 57.59% sedangkan sisanya 42.41% dipengaruhi oleh variabel yang tidak diteliti. Variabel yang paling besar mempengaruhi kinerja kepala ruang adalah kepemimpinan senior (30.44%) disusul oleh variabel tata kelola (22.96%) dan Tanggung Jawab Sosial (4.18%). Tanggung Jawab Sosial mempunyai koefisen jalur yang tidak bermakna dan sangat kecil, namun tetap dipertahankan dalam model akhir karena secara substantif, penting dalam menentukan kinerja kepala ruang. Berdasarkan penelitian ini disarankan untuk lebih memperhatikan dan meningkatkan kepemimpinan senior, tata kelola dan tanggung jawab sosial guna meningkatkan kinerja kepala ruang dengan cara (1) melakukan pembinaan dalam hal kepemimpinan mencakup kemampuan (ability), keterampilan (skill) dan perilaku (behaviour). Theoretically, this concept is taken from Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence (MBCfPE), in Health Care (Hertz, 2008). The choosen criteria MBCfPE is Leadership. Leadership criteria consist of senior leadership, governance and social responsibility variables. The study design is a survey design with quantitative approaches. The method being used in this study is path-analysis-method. The data are primer taken by the questionaires. Respondance are taken among nurses at Dahlia Anyelir roomcare RSKB Bogor 2008. The result shows that senior leadership, governance and social responsibility influenced performance of roomcare head nurses is 57.59% while the rest 42.41% is influenced by other factors which is not included in this study. The biggest variable which influenced work performance roomcare head nurses is senior leadership (30.44%), followed by governance (22.96%) and social responsibility (4.18%). Social responsibility variable is not significant to work performance roomcare head nurses, but it being defended because of substantive importance to influence work performance of roomcare headnurse. According to the result of this study, it is recommended to give more attention to improve senior leadership, governance and social responsibility to improve work performance of roomcare head nurses, such as: (1) To maintance ability, skill and behaviour of roomcare headnurses (2) To create regulation to support improvement senior leadership capacity, governance and social responsibility with opportunity to improve knowledge (3) To give suggestion for election roomcare head nurses must have leadership capacity (ability, skill and behaviour), governance and social responsibility from the candidate.Key word : senior leadership, governance, social responsibility, work performance, nurse

Abstract This study aims to analyze Pedagogy Content Islamic Knowledge (PCIK) on the Indonesian Qualification Framework (IQF) in Biology Islamic Education Study Program. The competence in Pedagogy Content Knowledge (PCK) is the achievement of Biology Education Program. The challenge faced by Biology Islamic Education program which lies under Islamic colleges and universities is to combine the program with the knowledge of Islam. The graduates of Biology Islamic Education program are required to master the Pedagogy Content Islamic Knowledge (PCIK). PCIK analysis was conducted qualitatively on Biology Islamic Education curriculum document at three state Islamic universities in Indonesia. The subjects of the study were three heads of study program, fourteen lecturers, and sixteen students. In-depth interviews, questionnaires, and discussions were conducted on the subjects. The results showed that PCIK is conceptually and textually seen in three subjects, namely capita selecta, microteaching practice, and school field practice. PCIK appeared in the scientific process, i.e. critical reflective activity on the significance of natural phenomena created by God. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Pedagogy Content Islamic Knowledge (PCIK) pada Kerangka Kualifikasi Nasional Indonesia (KKNI) Program Studi Tadris Biologi.  Kemampuan Pedagogy Content Knowledge (PCK) merupakan capaian Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi.  Bagi program studi Tadris Biologi di bawah naungan PTKI (Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam) memiliki tantangan satu tantangan lagi yaitu memadukan dengan pengetahuan islam.  Keluaran dari Tadris Biologi dituntut kemampuan Pedagogy Content Islamic Knowledge (PCIK).  Analisis PCIK dilakukan secara kualitatif terhadap dokumen kurikulum Tadris Biologi pada tiga UIN di Indonesia.  Selain itu dilakukan wawancara mendalam, pengisian angket, dan diskusi terpumpun bersama narasumber yaitu tiga orang ketua program studi,  empat belas dosen, dan enam belas mahasiswa.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan PCIK secara tekstual konseptual terlihat pada tiga matakuliah yaitu kapita selekta, praktik pengajaran mikro, dan praktik lapangan madrasah.  PCIK muncul pada proses sains berupa kegiatan reflektif kritis terhadap hakekat fenomena alam yang diciptakan oleh Alloh swt.  How to Cite : Herlanti, Y. Background: Leadership in midwifery education may bring into positive change such as increase of organization quality. Leadership facilitates to build high working commitment and good working environment. Malcolm Baldrige criteria is a working management system that can measure leadership, working commitment and environment. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between leadership and working commitment or environment based on Malcolm Baldrige Criteria.Method: This was quantitative research with cross sectional design. Subjects of this study were 60 lecturers of diploma 3 midwifery in the DIY Province. The research was conducted in March-April 2011 using questionnaire based on Malcolm Baldrige Criteria. Data were analyzed by Rank Spearman and Chi Square with level of significant p<0,05.Results: There was positive correlation between leadership and working commitment (rs=0,740, p<0,001). Leadership has a positive correlation with working environment (rs=0,719 and p<0,001). The chi square result of leadership and working commitment and environment corellation shows p value<0,001. The more effective the leadership the higher the working commitment and environment would be. Age and work experience had no correlation with variables in this study. there were no difference between respondent who are married and unmarried regarding all variables.Conclusion: Based on Malcolm Baldrige Criteria, leadership has positive correlation with lecturer’s working commitment and environment.

The research aims at describing the implementation of inductive approach in pre-intermediate structure subject to English Education Study Program students. It describes how the response of the implementation of inductive approach through communicative activities to students of English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, PGRI University of Yogyakarta.The research was done qualitatively. It included some actions. The actions were activities of teaching and learning processes by implementing inductive approach through some communicative activities in the classroom. The subject of this research was the students of English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, PGRI University of Yogyakarta. The research data was analyzed qualitatively by using deep observation and interview. The result was represented descriptively.The result of the research was that the implementation of inductive approach through the communicative activities can (a) train students to be familiar with the rule of discovery; (b) exploit students’ greater degree of cognitive depth, (c) make the students are more active rather than being passive in the process, (d) involve students to collaboratively do problem solving, (e) involve students to get opportunity for extra language practice.

Abstract: English zone is a place where the students of English Education Study Programs can improve their English skills. The implementation of the English Zone (EZ) in the Tadris of English Study Program has been running for five years. However, this program has not been evaluated yet. Based on the explanation above, the purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of the implementation of ZE for English students. This research used a quantitative approach. The data collection techniques were tests and questionnaires. The finding showed that: (1) speaking skills significantly increased with a value of 74.12 or 11.56%, (2) in implementing English Zone, there were many problems faced by the students, such as the opportunity limitation for the students to talk, difficulty in finding speaking partners, students’ embarrassment in starting conversation, attachment to the grammatical rules, eagerness to speak English since only a few lecturers who consistently speak English and the lack of penalty for those who break the rules.ملخص: منطقة اللغة الإنجليزية هي مكان يمكن أن يستخدمه طلاب برامج دراسة تعليم اللغة الإنجليزية لتحسين مهاراتهم في اللغة الإنجليزية. استمر تنفيذ منطقة اللغة الإنجليزية في قسم تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية لمدة خمس سنوات. ولكن حتى الآن، لم يتم تقييم هذا البرنامج. من الشرح المذكور، فإن الغرض من هذا البحث هو معرفة مدى فاعليته. لذلك، استخدم هذا البحث المدخل الكمّي، أما تقنيات جمع البيانات فهي الاختبارات والاستبيانات. تبين النتيجة أن: (1) زادت مهارات الكلام أكثر بنتيجة 74.12 أو 11.56%، (2) هناك العديد من المشكلات التي يواجهها الطلاب عند تطبيق منطقة اللغة الإنجليزية، مثل أن فرصة الكلام للطلاب محدودة، حيث يواجه الطلاب صعوبة في بحث الشركاء للمحادثة، ويشعر الطلاب بالحياء عندما بدء المحادثة، ويكون الطلاب مرتبطون جدًا بالقواعد، ويتحدث الطلاب باللغة الإنجليزية عندما يكون هناك محاضرون فقط، ويقلّ من المحاضرين الذين يتحدثون الإنجليزية باستمرار، ولا توجد عقوبة للطلاب الذين يخالفون النظام.
