The purpose of the article is to summarise the results of scientific surveys on the issue of giftedness, to analyse its aspects and essence. The summarising of the scientific research allowed us to detect the components of giftedness for its further diagnostics. Having analysed and summarised the compiled material, we revealed the types of giftedness, categories of gifted children and their peculiarities. Revealing the essence of the phenomenon “giftedness”, its factors, structure, components, kinds and types alongside the main features of gifted children will allow improving the efficiency of specialists’ work with gifted children and developing the skills and talents of the latter in future.

India is at the 3rd position worldwide in terms of publication of scientific literature. However, in terms of productivity, it has been consistently failing to transform the research knowledge into industrial output. This study compares India with the leading countries to understand its lacuna in terms of R&D policy and outputs. Although scientific publications are regarded as the output of basic research, patent applications serve as a better indicator of the applied research. This paper assesses the important determinants for patent filings of a nation. It also focuses on the role of academia and industry collaboration in R&D and the productivity of a nation. We found that the higher the GERD (total Gross Domestic Expenditure of R&D) and the R&D personnel in a nation, the higher the patent filings of the nation. Moreover, we show that academia-industrial collaboration plays a key role in transforming basic research into real-world applications, as we illustrate the government's role in making necessary policies to make the collaboration successful. This paper highlights the significance of investing in R&D to improve the productivity of a nation, as also the need to design policies to strengthen the applied research environment by fostering solution-centric collaborations between academia and industry.

The aim of the study was to investigate approaches to the formation of general educational skills. A survey examining the design and research process was carried out by 6th-grade Russian students over the course of an extracurricular project entitled «Names of Modern Professions». In the paper, the selection of the «Lexicology» section for such activities carried out by school pupils is substantiated and stages of work on the project are described. The applied methodology involves theoretical analysis of scientific literature, formative experimentation, analysis of products of educational activities, observation and description. It is concluded that the design of extracurricular research activities in the Russian language contributes to the formation of general educational competencies in conducting surveys and searching for information on the basis of subject skills.

India is currently focusing on providing education for all, and special population like the gifted is being neglected. This is evident in the case of Aditya (IQ 145), a 7-year-old boy, and his parents who after discovering that their child is gifted attempt to meet his unique educational needs. Despite evidence of Aditya qualifying in examination two grades above his age level, the school authorities neither offer acceleration nor provide appropriate resources. This study attempts to delineate the importance of combined efforts of parent, school, and the community in nurturing gifted children. Finally, the researcher makes a few recommendations for parents: (i) create support groups to share parenting experiences; (ii) explore online and local learning resources to educate themselves about giftedness and nurture their children; and (iii) identify mentors in the community or other parents who can support in meeting the educational needs of these children.

Although computers can be a terrific resource for all children, gifted children particularly benefit from the individualization provided by-different computer applications. For the gifted child who finishes written class exercises quickly, computer programs may extend subject matter. From my observations, however, teachers use computers primarily for drill and practice exercises and word processing.

At the second stage (2021), a structural model of the organization of professional development of teachers is being developed, taking into account the requirements of digitalization of general education on the basis of a competence-based approach. There is also the task of developing a cognitive model of the advanced training program (ATP), which allows us to take into account the strength of the links between the studied modules and digital competencies based on the application of an algorithm for assessing the significance of disciplines. The results of this work are proposed for discussion in this article.
