This article discusses the symbols and identity of Garut City, especially with regard to heritage buildings that were established since the Dutch colonial period. These buildings are very important to be maintained so that the identity of the Garut community is not eroded by the increasingly strong current of globalization. The research method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a historical approach. In addition, the concept of conservation is also used which refers to physical and non-physical aspects and adaptive re-use theory. The conclusion from this research is that various infrastructures, especially the buildings at the beginning of the establishment of Garut city are symbols and identities for the Garut people. The conclusion of this study is that the buildings are very important to be preserved so that they could be proud of by the people of Garut city or the people of Garut regency in general. Thus the Garut people will not lose direction in building a whole human. In addition, the Garut community will understand the importance of buildings in Garut city as a symbol or identity of the Garut community.

Nyai (the Javanese term for concubine) is one of the themes that is widely discussed in the realm of Indonesian literature starting from peranakan Chinese literature, literature during the colonial period, as well as modern Indonesian literature; both written by native writers and non-indigenous writers (Indonesians and peranakan Chinese). Based on these phenomena, this study will discuss the image of Nyai in literary works with a descriptive qualitative research method. The object materials of this research are the novels Nyai Wonokromo by Mayon Sutrisno, Tjerita Njai Isah by Ferdinand Wiggers, and Boenga Roos dari Tjikembang by Kwee Tek Hoay. In Nyai Wonokromo and Tjerita Njai Isah, the characters of Nyai presented in both novels are fool-blooded Dutch Nyai, while the novel Boenga Roos dari Tjikembang presents a Chinese Nyai. This study will compare the representation of Nyai as belonging to the Dutch and that of the Chinese, as well as comparing the images of Nyai written by indigenous writers and non-indigenous writers. The discussion of nyai includes the position of nyai in the social construction of society and its relationship with the people around it. The purpose of this research is to find out how the Responsibility of Village Fund Allocation in Tambat, Tanah Miring District, Merauke Regency. Theoretical Benefits, as reference material for research in the field of future accountability. In discussing and reviewing the issue of implementation, the accountability of village fund allocation in Tambat Tanah Miring District Merauke Regency the author uses a qualitative research method, namely data collection can be from interviews, observation notes, photo taking, audio and video recording. This type of descriptive research is a research that is sought to observe problems systematically accurate funds regarding the facts and characteristics of certain objects, with the number of informants as many as 13 people.The results of this study indicate that the accountability of village fund allocation in the implementation of village funds in Tambat, Tanah Miring District, Merauke Regency, runs well but there are still a number of problems that occur, planning, realization of the program and not in accordance with the details and calculations in the RAB. Kampung, Implementation of Village Fund Allocation conducted by Kampung Tambat Officials has not gone well and has not been carried out in accordance with the procedure because the village head of Tambat was considered not transparent regarding Village Fund Allocation to the people of Tambat Village, Reporting indicators, Village Fund Allocation has not been implemented properly due to reports what has been made is not maximal with what is done in Tambat and indicators, the accountability of the village head regarding the Village Fund Allocation also does not work with planning, implementation and reporting, this is evidenced by the making of the first report and the answer to ADD ADK, PROSPECTS made by other parties not by village officials have not been implemented with the reality that happened at Tambat.

The problem in this study is about the perception of pinokalan village community regarding the assistance of Kota Tanpa Kumuh Program (KOTAKU) where they are concerned about the inability of the opportunity to receive this assistance and the purpose of this research is to know and describe the perception of pinokalan village community in the implementation of KOTAKU program. In this study using qualitative research method with observation and interview data collection techniques. And the results of this study show that the perception of the people of Pinokalan Village that we do not receive assistance kotaku program from the government when our environment is organized and not worth our stay because of the densely populated conditions and only a few residents of our village who get assistance in the form of home improvement, roads and drainage but it is an assistance from PNPM not from KOTAKU and the government only chooses milih residents for i kut in socialization therefore we as other pinokalan community do not know and only know from others that socialization has been implemented about KOTAKU in Pinokalan Village. In the PROGRAM KOTAKU Pinokalan village is used as a companion village when compared to other villages that get assistance from KOTAKU Pinokalan Village can be said to be more eligible to get assistance from this KOTAKU program

This paper tries to look at the irreverent phenomena that occur in students today, and to find a way out through a series of events in the past with the value of local wisdom in the past. There are two things (more precisely an offer) to be conveyed in this paper in solving this problem. First, an explanation of the value of local wisdom contained in pappasang to riolo, the second tells about the exemplary suri to-riolo (ancestors). These two things are integrated into the historical material and conveyed to students so that students with character can be created. This paper uses a qualitative research method with an anthropological-historical approach in seeing the character (value) of students who experience moral degradation. The results of this study are a new model of character education approach using culture as a role model.

Erpangir ku lau is a ritual of cleansing based on Hindu Pemena teachings. This ritual teaches the Karo people to maintain harmonious relations between humans, the forces of nature, and the Creator. However, in the Dutch colonial era, erpangir lau was stopped because it was part of the worship and the practice of magic. The method used in this article is a descriptive qualitative research method that uses theory as a basis. This qualitative descriptive design format embraces phenomenology and post-positivism. This study aims to describe, summarize the various situations or phenomena of social reality in a society that are the object of research, and try to pull that reality to the surface as a description of certain conditions, situations, or phenomena. The findings obtained are that the colonial influence still imprinted on the person of the Karo people even though the occupation had long since ended. Concerning the Dutch colonial discourse, it is necessary to carry out a deconstruction practice to reverse the Karo people's perspective on the erpangir ku lau rites.

The drug abuse problem that occured in society these days is very alarming. The existence of the perpetrator and the activity of drug abuse has become a custom of the community. However, permissiveness shown as if the people let these problems occur. The existence of stakeholders is expected to have a positive impact, so that the functions of society can work well, especially in the prevention of drug abuse. The improvement of society social control is an effort to prevent drug abuse. The purpose of this research is to improve the society social control as away to prevent drug abuse. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with action research. The Place of research conducted in RW 18 Sadang Serang Village, Coblong Sub-district, Bandung with a number of main informants and supporting  informant were 6 people as many as 3 people. The intervention is done through several activities, namely the Counseling and Socialization, Social Campaign, and Forming Local Organization “Pemuda Anti NAPZA”. The results showed an increase in society social control is an effort to prevent drug abuse in RW 18 Sadang Serang Village. Final model  has been enhanced tends to be more effective in addressing the problem of drug abuse which is occured.

The objectives of the study were to describe and plan urban transfers planning based on city government synergy, bhabinkamtibnas and universities. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. In the planning of city government synergy, bhabinkamtibnas, and universities in carrying out transpotation planning, can be seen from the planning, implementation actors, programs, and facilities and infrastructure. Kareana synergy will bring positive results to the people of Surabaya city in terms of various aspects. In this research it is concluded that the implementation of transportation planning in the city of Surabaya is expected to be able to synergize with Bhabinkamtib- nas, and universities in order to realize a sustainable and more effective concept.

This research was conducted to reveal the existence of Gong Buleuh Music in Sungai Penuh City Community, Jambi Province, this type of research is a qualitative research method of interpreting phenomena based on art issues in the Sungai Penuh community. The object of this research is the existence of Gong Buleuh music in the Sungai Penuh community of Jambi Province. Data collected through literature study, observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out based on ethnographic techniques. The findings of this study indicate that the existence of this Gong Buleuh music in the community plays an important role in the Kenduhai Sko ceremony. The uniqueness of an instrumental made of reeds in accordance with the ecological conditions of the Sungai Penuh city. Thus the existence of this Gong Buleuh music does not decline for the younger generation, of course, to explore its existence so that it is preserved by culture, especially Sungai Penuh City. Gong Buleuh music as a traditional art gives meaning to the life of the Kerinci community and its appearance has certain rules that must not be violated. If it is violated, there will be sanctions so that Gong Buleuh's music is a ritual in the Kenduri Sko ceremony. The Kenduri Sko ceremony, which is held once every ten years as a cleanser for heirlooms, is also a gathering place between layers of society. In this event without performing Gong Buleuh music, the ceremony is considered meaningless for the people of Sungai Penuh City. With the music of Gong Buleuh in the Kenduri Sko ceremony, the community can communicate with traditional and community leaders to officiate the opening of the Kenduri Sko.

Siraman is a Javanese traditional culture that is held for a bride or bridegroom at a day before ijab qobul. This study uses qualitative research method to gain information from respondents. The researchers collect information from 32 people who experienced Javanese siraman whether as bride/bridegroom or as parents/elders, and literature reviews on the related topic. The researchers limit the object into Javanese siraman tradition that has several steps; sungkeman, ngracik sekar, siraman, wudhu saking kendi, pecah kendi, pangkas rikma, and gendongan, where each step of the siraman process has its own meanings. The aim of this study is to reinterpret the emergence of siraman as a series of rituals done in traditional Javanese weddings. The focus is on siraman especially in East Java. It also includes the philosophy of each step, the tools used and the people involved in the process of siraman. In other words, it also seeks information on the different functions of siraman from the past and present as one of trends in Javanese wedding process nowadays. At the end, this study can be used as one of information sources about Javanese siraman traditonal culture, and gives confirmation and prespectives about Javanese siraman trends as a Javanese traditional culture.   Keywords: Siraman, Javanese Traditional Culture, Philosopy, Trends

Research on religion and socio-economic changes in the community around the Gunung Padang site, Karyamukti Village, Campaka District, Cianjur Regency originated from the emergence of a local community in carrying out its religion and culture in the form of socio-economic changes. The focus of the research reveals how religious the people around the Gunung Padang site are. How is the socio-economic culture of the community around Mount Padang with the Gunung Padang site, as well as how the religious and socio-economic changes of the community after the restoration (excapation) of the Gunung Padang site. This study uses a qualitative research method, to analyze the religious relationship between the community and the socio-economic culture of the community around ancient sites using a phenomenological approach. The results of this study indicate that the religion of the people around the site is greatly influenced by the process of combining religious understanding and local culture that has been hereditary. The form is through religious expressions, namely belief (theology), ritual (rites) and community (community).
