Abstract The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of various dietary meal compositions on production, economic performance and meat quality of the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Experimental group (0-I) was fed with a mixture containing 30% fish meal, 35% soybean meal, 30% sardines and 5% fish oil. Experimental group 0-II was fed with a combined meal consisting of 75% of fish food pellets and 25% of sardines. The control group (C) was fed with a standard complete pelleted feed. The best result was obtained in group 0-II, while group C achieved results common for local food quality and farming conditions in Serbia. Group 0-I had less productive results compared to group C and group 0-II. Feed used in group 0-II has its own nutritional, biological and economic justification. Use of different fish meals had no significant influence on trout meat chemical composition, except the fat content which was significantly higher in group 0-II. Considering current market prices of fish feed and fish as a final product, the best economic results were achieved by using the combined feed in group 0-II.

This paper evaluates the eff ects of two diff erent feeds on production results and economic performance in the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) farming. The first group (O-1) was fed with a standard complete pelleted feed, and the second group (O-2) was fed with combined feed consisting of 75 % pellets and 25 % of sardines. Better results were obtained with the O-2 group, while the O-1 group achieved results characteristic for local farming conditions and feed quality. Experimental group O-2 had signifi cantly higher (p<0,01) growth rate when compared to group O-1. Considering current feed and fi nal product (fi sh) prices in the market, better results in terms of cost-eff ectiveness were obtained (E>0,00) in O-2 group of trout fed with the combined meal.

The article consist data about effect of different levels of vitamin E and selenium in the diet of carps during their growing and also informationabout the influence on processes of lipid peroxidation and activity of antioxidant protection in their body.The experiment conducted in three experimental ponds. After wintering there were placed four ears mature females and males carp, six individuals in each group. Supplements of vitamin E administered at a rate of 25 mg/kg and drug «Sel–Plex» the rate of selenium – 0.3 mg/kg were added to further basic diet(BD) of female and male carp first experimental group (EG1). The second experimental group (EG2) received (BD) and vitamin E supplements in an amount of 75 mg / kg, and just as in EG1 – selenium – 0.3 mg/kg of feed.The control group received fish feed without additives vitamins and minerals.Feeding lasted for 30 days, due to the physiological needs of the fish feed. After spawning in fish of research and control group swere taken blood samples for biochemical research.The study led to a dose–dependent decrease (p < 0.01 – 0.001) content of TBA–active products and hydroperoxidase of lipids, but did not significantly effect onsuperoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activity of blood So, the reduction of lipid peroxidation products in the carp’s blood of experimental groups probably was caused by the growth of non–enzymatic level, which is associated with fat–soluble vitamins.

In the present study, the effect of macroalga Enteromorpha sp. enriched with Zn(II) and Cu(II) ions on daily amounts of feces and urine excreted by growing pigs, apparent fecal nutrient digestibility and daily nitrogen balance and retention, meat quality and the slaughter value of carcasses was examined. The duration of feeding experiments was 87 days. In the control group, the requirement for zinc and copper was covered by inorganic salts, whereas in the experimental group algae enriched with these elements via biosorption were supplemented. No effect of Enteromorpha sp. on the increase in digestibility of dry matter, dry organic matter, crude protein, crude fat and nitrogen-free extractives was observed. Statistically significant differences concerned only the digestibility of crude ash. The daily amount of excreted feces and urine did not differ significantly between groups. Meat from pigs in the algal group was characterized by a lower water absorption and drip loss and contained less fat and more protein than meat from the control group. Furthermore, a slight darkening of the meat was observed. The weight of the liver was lower in pigs from the algal group. Enriched macroalga Enteromorpha sp. may be introduced into pig nutrition as a feed material as an alternative to inorganic salts.

Deoxynivalenol (DON), produced by theFusariumgenus, is a major contaminant of cereal grains used in the production of fish feed. The effect of mycotoxin deoxynivalenol on rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) was studied using a commercial feed with the addition of DON in a dose of 2 mg/kg feed. The fish(n=40)were exposed to the mycotoxin for 23 days. The trout were divided into two groups, control and experimental groups. Control groups were fed a commercial feed naturally contaminated with a low concentration of DON (225 μg/kg feed); experimental groups were fed a commercial feed with the addition of DON (1964 μg/kg feed). Plasma biochemical and haematological indices, biometric parameters, and histopathological changes were assessed at the end of the experiment. The experimental groups showed significantly lower values in MCH(P<0.05). In biochemical indices, after 23-day exposure, a significant decrease in glucose, cholesterol(P<0.05), and ammonia(P<0.01)was recorded in the experimental group compared to the control group. Our assessment showed no significant changes in biometric parameters. The histopathological examination revealed disorders in the caudal kidney of the exposed fish. The obtained data show the sensitivity of rainbow trout (O. mykiss) to deoxynivalenol.

The still-marinating process is a simplified technology used to tenderize and to improve the flavour, colour and juiciness of meat products. The effects of marinade type, addition of ground paprika (P) or paprika oleoresin (O), on the instrumental and sensory properties of cooked marinated chicken fillets were investigated. It was observed that marinade uptake was greater (P > 0.05) for the fillets marinated with paprika oleoresin. The aim of this paper was to investigate the carcass and breast meat (nutritional, technological and sensory) quality of chickens (line ROSS 308) fed extruded corn. The current study investigated the effect of dietary supplementation with probiotics and Yucca schidigera extract on physicochemical parameters, proximate composition, mineral content and fatty acid profile of broiler breast and thigh muscles. In total, 240 one-day old broilers were randomly allocated into two dietary treatments groups: 1) Control (basal diet), 2) experimental (basal diet with two probiotics Pediococcus acidilactici and Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Yucca schidigera extract). The results showed that the pH value was higher in the experimental group than in the control group (p < 0.05). However, drip, cook and thaw losses were not influenced by dietary treatment (p > 0.05). A significant increase in protein, Fe, Zn, Na, P and a significant decrease in lipid, Cu and Cr contents was exhibited in experimental group relative to control group (p < 0.05). The proportion of stearic acid and saturated fatty acids was significantly (p < 0.05) reduced, whereas linoleic acid and polyunsaturated fatty acids contents were significantly (p < 0.05) increased in breast and thigh muscles of fed the experimental diet. We concluded that additive supplementation of the diet with probiotics and Yucca schidigera extract could improve meat quality.

This study describes the effects of dietary linseed and sunflower oil on the sensory characteristics of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fillets. Rainbow trout were fed a diet containing either 2.5% or 5% of linseed or sunflower oil or 5% mixture of both oils (2.5% of each). Control group received a commercial feed mixture. A selected and trained panel carried out descriptive sensory tests on fish fillet cross-sections. The addition of vegetable oil into fish feed did not affect firmness, juiciness or intensity of total taste but had a significant impact on colour, intensity of odour and fish oily taste. A higher content of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) in linseed oil, in comparison with sunflower oil, is often responsible for the development of an off-flavour. No trout fillet was rejected owing to the off-flavour presence. Both concentrations of linseed oil decreased the intensity of fish oily taste. Therefore, for the partial replacement of fish oil in rainbow trout feed it is recommended the use linseed oil, which is a good source of n-3 PUFA. &nbsp;

The article presents the results of studies on the influence of cadmium sulfate in different doses on the organism of poultry. The purpose of the work was to investigate the effect of cadmium sulfate in doses of 2 and 4 mg/kg body weight on the morphological parameters of blood of the Laying Hens. By the evaluation of the morphological analysis of the quantitative and qualitative composition of blood, it is possible to deem objectively about the functional state of the hematopoietic system of the body of the bird for cadmium loading. For research were formed three experimental groups: control group and two research groups. The control group chickens were in the usual diet, they were fed with combined feed and drank water without cadmium sulfate. To the drinking water of chickens of experimental groups added cadmium sulfate for 30 days: the first group – 2 mg/kg body weight of cadmium sulfate, the second group – 4 mg/kg body weight of cadmium sulfate. The conditions and microclimate parameters in the room for all keeping chickens groups were similar. Blood from Laying Hens was taken from the subclavian (axillary) vein in the following periods: before taking the drugs and cadmium sulfate, on the first, seventh, fourteenth, twenty-first and thirtieth day of the experiment. Hematologic studies give an opportunity to study in detail the influence of cadmium on the body of chickens, on the basis of which a more correct development of the scheme of treatment and prevention of cadmium toxicity in poultry is possible. Drinking cadmium sulfate in doses of 2 and 4 mg/kg of body weight contributed to a decrease in the number of erythrocytes to 2.69 ± 0.13 and 2.36 ± 0.14 T/l, a hemoglobin level of 86.61 ± 1.11 and 72.17 ± 0.73 g/l and an increase in the number of leukocytes to 34.9 ± 0.60 and 35.8 ± 0.66 g/l. Probable changes in morphological parameters are observed on the 21st day of the experiment in the second experimental group of Laying Hens, which were released cadmium sulfate at a dose of 4 mg/kg body weight. The hematocrit value represents the ratio between the formed elements and the blood plasma. After chickens drinking with cadmium sulfate at doses of 2 and 4 mg/kg of body weight, the hematocrit value gradually decreased. The hematocrit value was low in the second experimental group on day 21 of the experiment, where, respectively, it was 34.11 ± 0.63%.

The aim of these investigations was to determine the influence of mineral adsorbents ?Minazel? and ?Minazel Plus? added into broiler diet, on the carcass quality and nutritional, technological and sensory properties of breast meat. The examination was done on Cobb 500 provenience divided into 4 groups: control group C (fed without addition of mineral adsorbent), experimental group E I (0.5% of Minazel), experimental group E II (0.2% of Minazel Plus), experimental group E III (0.3% of Minazel Plus). The results showed that the broilers fed with the addition of mineral adsorbents, had a higher (P < 0.01) mass of chilled carcass ?ready to grill? and breast mass, than the broilers of the control group. Based on the parameters and criteria for defining the quality of chicken breast meat (pHu and L*) it can be concluded that meat of all groups had in average "normal" quality. According to the results of sensory analyzed roasted breast meat, meat of experimental groups had preferable smell and tenderness.
