Abstract Data documenting the occurrence of epiphytic bryophytes in the urban forests of the Wroclaw city were collected and reported for the first time. Research was carried out in 2015-2016, in forest areas situated within the city administrative boundaries, to find whether some epiphytic species reported from the Wroclaw environs in the 19th century and presently considered to be primeval forest relicts occur in urban forests. The survey was carried out using the established network of 50 study plots randomly scattered within the urban forested areas. In total 42 species (4 liverworts and 38 mosses) were recorded on 467 trees; three of them are primeval forest relicts. In this paper, the host-tree preferences, distribution in the individual forests, relative frequency, abundance and exposure to compass directions of the studied taxa are analysed. Of the species described, only 17 are obligatory epiphytes, while 22 of them are character forest species. However, 82% of the latter were noted on a small number of tree trunks. Two moss taxa, Hypnum cupressiforme and Platygyrium repens, were most frequently found (on 76 and 50% of the trees, respectively). Among the species recorded in the studied area, there are five that have been showing some expansive tendencies in Europe in recent decades. The potential ability of these species to spread in urban areas is discussed in relation to their general ecological requirements.

This paper demonstrates for the first time the potential of explicitly modelling the individual roof surfaces to reconstruct 3-D prismatic building models using spaceborne tomographic synthetic aperture radar (TomoSAR) point clouds. The proposed approach is modular and works as follows: it first extracts the buildings via DSM generation and cutting-off the ground terrain. The DSM is smoothed using BM3D denoising method proposed in (Dabov et al., 2007) and a gradient map of the smoothed DSM is generated based on height jumps. Watershed segmentation is then adopted to oversegment the DSM into different regions. Subsequently, height and polygon complexity constrained merging is employed to refine (i.e., to reduce) the retrieved number of roof segments. Coarse outline of each roof segment is then reconstructed and later refined using quadtree based regularization plus zig-zag line simplification scheme. Finally, height is associated to each refined roof segment to obtain the 3-D prismatic model of the building. The proposed approach is illustrated and validated over a large building (convention center) in the city of Las Vegas using TomoSAR point clouds generated from a stack of 25 images using Tomo-GENESIS software developed at DLR.

Changes in urban areas are happening faster than they are being mapped. Modern methods of collecting topographic information and conducting topographic monitoring allow you to quickly track and record these changes. Retrospective cartographic data contain valuable geographical information about territories in historical terms. The purpose of the article is to study the changes in the territory by means of geospatial-retrospective analysis on the example of the city of Kharkiv. This article proposes for the first time the use of geospatial-retrospective analysis to study changes in territories on the example of the city of Kharkiv. To find the geospatial pattern of development of boundaries and changes in the area of the city of Kharkiv, a geospatial-retrospective analysis was performed, the results of which confirmed the high rate of increase in the area and boundaries of the city.

AbstractEnvironmental problems in urban areas are a problem that never stops. That every community needs a healthy life, but this seems difficult to become a reality for urban communities because the population continues to increase every year so that land conversion occurs which results in increased air and water pollution. Therefore, the central government hopes that each region or region can provide RTH 30% of the city area. The purpose of this study is to analyze the enforcement of the City Forest Regulations in Surabaya and to find out the efforts of local governments in fulfilling urban forest land in urban areas. This study uses a normative juridical method. As part of RTH, the development of urban forests in Surabaya is very much needed by the community, therefore cooperation between the government and the community is needed in the management and development of urban forests. Fulfillment of urban forest areas in Surabaya can be done by maximizing the form of urban forest that has been regulated based on the City Forest Regulation, either in the form of channels, groups or scattered.Keywords: city forest; green open space; urbanAbstrakMasalah lingkungan hidup diwilayah perkotaan merupakan masalah yang tak kunjung berakhir. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa pemberlakuan Perda Hutan Kota di Surabaya serta mengetahui upaya pemerintah daerah dalam memenuhi lahan hutan kota pada wilayah perkotaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode yuridis normatif. Sebagai bagian dari RTH, pengembangan hutan kota di Surabaya sangat dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat oleh karenanya diperlukan kerjasama antara pemerintah dengan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan dan pengembangan hutan kota. Pemenuhan luasan hutan kota di Surabaya dapat dilakukan dengan mamaksimalkan bentuk dari hutan kota yang telah diatur berdasarkan pada Perda Hutan Kota, yakni dapat dengan bentuk jelaur, mengelompok maupun menyebar.

Described in Primary Chronicle under 912 the story of the unusual circumstances of the death of Kyiv pagan prince Oleh the Prophetic is connected to Kyiv topographic realities, contemporary for chronist, in particular, to the toponym «Oleh Tomb», also known from other sources. According to this chronicle Oleh Tomb was placed on the hill Shchekovytsya but the exact localization of the latter is not provided. In the middle of the 19th century Kyiv people called Shchekovytsya the high hill rising over the Podil on the west side. In the works of the later Kyiv scholars this hill was unequivocally identified with Chronicle Shchekovytsya where they localized the grave of Oleh. This view was challenged by P. G. Lebedyntsev who suggested localizate the Oleh Tomb not on Shchekovytsya / Skavitsya but on the western slope of the Starokyivsky Plateau, on Kudryavka, opposite the Lybid’ River, near the Zhidovsky (Lviv) Gate of Medieval Kyiv. Basing on the analysis of Kyiv Chronicle information the scientist concluded that the toponym «Oleh Tomb» is separated from Shchekovytsya in the annals. The explanation of this contradiction in the chronicle was proposed by one of the best experts in the historical topography of Old Kyiv — M. I. Petrov. He suggested that under the name of Shchekovytsya one should consider not only the Podil hill but also all surrounding ravines and highlands. The Shchekovytsya ridge of mountains and hills stretched from the east to the southwest from the present Shchekovitsa hill to the edge of the present Lviv Square. The common for whole this territory name Shchekovytsya became gradually decay due to the large scale construction of the city in the 18th century and the appearance of proper names of new urban areas. The version of the death and burial of Oleh in Ladoga where one of the central and largest hills got the name «Oleh Tomb» is still popular in historiography, especially Russian. This mound was explored by archaeologists. The cremation burial was discovered under the barrow. It was dated to earlier (9th century) time than the date of Oleh death. Because of the impossibility of this «grave» to be burial place of the Prince of Kyiv, G. S. Lebedev has proposed to consider it the «Oleh Hill» — a «ritual seat» which had some public and religious functions. Despite the hypothetical nature of such interpretation the ghost of Oleh finds the visible features in Ladoga. At the end of the last century in Old Ladoga the stone was erected on that mound with a memorial plaque proclaiming this site of the 9th—10th centuries «The tomb of Prince Oleh the Prophetic». The story of the death of Kyiv pagan prince Oleh the Prophetic «due to horse» contained in the Primary Chronicle under 912 was compilled, apparently, on the base of some archaic mythological song or historical anecdote. It wins over not its factual authenticity but psychological one. However, there is no reason to doubt that Oleh died in Kyiv. The death of the prince, who was crowned with warrior glory, prompted his followers to muse about the choice of a place for the building of the great barrow over his grave. The slopes of the Lysa Gora (Yurkovytsia), where the pagan necropolis had already been laid near Oleh courtyard, probably seemed them to be cramped. This may have been the reason for choosing among the highlands, which rise above the Podil, the beautiful terrain of Kudryavka in the upper reaches of the Hlybochytsa river. The barrow built in the 10th century was probably quite large which explains the relatively long life of «Oleh Tomb» in the Kyiv toponimic.

This publication continues a series of articles which introduce into scientific discourse the results of archaeo-logical research into the cultural layer of Tobolsk — the main city of Siberia during the Russian colonization pe-riod. The First and Second Regency excavations were laid on the spit of the Troitsky Cape, on the territory of the Tobolsk Kremlin, in the utility building construction zone of the Tobolsk-Tyumen diocese. Based on the historical and archival data, the identified stratigraphic columns should demonstrate the peculiarities of the formation of cultural strata in different periods of development of the city since its foundation, but unfortunately, as shown by the excavations, the early layers were severely damaged across a large area as a result of constant active recon-structions of the Kremlin. The earliest of the studied objects are the remains of a defensive line that ran along the edge of the cape in the 17th c., protecting the city from attacks. As a result, the structure of the wooden fortifica-tions of the city have been identified, which represented a high log fence, with an adjacent platform — fighting gallery — on the inner side. The presence of such structure suggests that the defensive wall carried loopholes for cannons and culverins, significantly expanding the firing potential. The nature, location and construction of this defensive line is similar to the one we found in the Chukman excavation site, on the nearby cape of Chukman. The ancient objects of the First and the Second Regency excavations include eight structures that have not been fully explored. One of them contained a rare archaeological find — the remains of a tiled stove, faced with terra-cotta, glazed, polychrome relief and painted tiles. Another building preserved in a form of a brick foundation, during the clearing of which, for the first time in Tobolsk, fragments of porcelain ware from Gardner factory were found, which was considered to be the best in Russia in the 19th century. In general, the obtained materials open new opportunities for studying the early stages of the history and culture of the first Russian capital of Siberia.

Escasa y mal documentada, la migración francesa en Chiapas durante el siglo XIX puede encontrar una veta de investigación? en los casos de Borduin y Dugelay, padre e hijo, en la ciudad de San Cristóbal de Las Casas. El primero, conocido como «francés», aunque procedente del Bajo Canadá, se convirtió desde 1839 en figura central local, entre otros aspectos, por su apreciada profesión en medio de continuos brotes epidémicos. Más de cuatro décadas después, en pleno auge de la influencia francesa en México, Diego Dugelay gozó por su parte el privilegio doble del origen de su padre y el poder social, político y económico, heredados de su madre. Además del testimonio individual ambas trayectorias, alguna vez contrastantes y complementarias, muestran también ciertos mecanismos, aspiraciones y paradojas ocurridas en Chiapas durante su primera apertura hacia los «hermanos de allende los mares». ABSTRACT Scarcely and poorly documented, the French migration in Chiapas during the 19th century may find a vein of research[*] in the cases of Borduin and Dugelay, father and son, in the city of San Cristóbal de Las Casas. The first, known as “French” although in reality originating from francophone Canada, converted after 1839 into a central local figure, among other aspects, due to his esteemed profession amidst continuous epidemic outbreaks. More than four decades later, in the boom of French influence in Mexico, Diego Dugelay for his part enjoyed the double privilege of his father’s origin and the social, political and economic power inherited from his mother. In addition to the individual testimony, both trajectories, at times contrasting and others complementary, also demonstrate certain mechanisms, aspirations and paradoxes occurred in Chiapas during its first opening toward the “overseas brothers.”

As the times evolved, the problems that arise in social life are increasingly diverse, especially in urban areas which have a growing population, so the requirement of the community are also increasing. Unemployment is one of the big problems, especially in Banten province. Which of course can affect how the social life of the community and the individual. if not resolved, it will create vulnerability and have the potential to result in a bad economy or worse, lead to poverty. The development of the city of Tangerang as the largest city in Banten province, has the potential to raise a declining economy in Banten province. Seeing that there is an opportunity in the field of creative economy in the city of Tangerang, the locality method can accommodate activities for bamboo craftsmen which is the hallmark of the city of Tangerang. Bila tidak diatasi akan menimbulkan kerawanan pada kehidupan sosial dan berpotensi mengakibatkan perekonomian yang buruk atau lebih parahnya lagi menyebabkan terjadinya kemiskinan. Perkembangan kota Tangerang sebagai kota terbesar di provinsi banten dapat berpotensi untuk membangkitkan perekonomian yang turun di provinsi Banten. Melihat adanya peluang dibidang ekonomi kreatif di kota Tangerang, metode lokalitas dapat mewadahi kegiatan bagi para pengrajin bambu yang menjadi ciri khas dari kota Tangerang. Diperlukan sebuah tempat untuk interaksi antar manusia sehingga selain memperbaiki kehidupan sosial, dapat memperbaiki perekonomian di wilayah sekitarnya, serta dapat membantu para komunitas bambu masyarakat sekitar yang ingin memanfaatkan fasilitas tersebut untuk  mengembangkan kemampuan dan produk lokal kota Tangerang.
