Abstract The aim of this work was to analyze and statistically confirm the relationship between the computed daily values of the Effective Precipitation Index (EP365) and the measured moisture content of the topsoil of a research site near Nitra, Slovakia. The statistical analysis (coefficients of determination) confirmed the strong correlation. Subsequently each day’s mean of EP365 (MEP) was used to quantify the long-term deficit or surplus of the soil water supply in the individual years. The daily values of the EP365 index provide a more detailed view of the development of the topsoil’s moisture regime. According to the deviation of EP (DEP) from the 14-year MEP, the most extreme dry periods prevailed during the years 2015, 2017 and 2018. Therefore, the 2012–2018period was evaluated as dry, and the topsoil moisture regime described through the MEP index was compared with the course of the MEP index from the normal (slightly humid) period of the years 2005 – 2011.

Although statistical evidence seems to be lacking. it is at present widely acknowledged that organisational culture has the potential of having a significant effect on organisational performance. An analysis of sustained superior financial performance of certain American organisations has attributed their success to the culture that each of them had developed. It has been proposed that these organisations are characterised by a strong set of core managerial values that define the ways in which they conduct business. how they treat employees, customers, suppliers and others. Culture is to the organisation what personality is to the individual. It is a hidden but unifying force that provides meaning and direction and has been defined as the prevailing background fabric of prescriptions and proscriptions for behaviour, the system of beliefs and values and the technology and task of the organisation together with the accepted approaches to these. Recent studies have indicated that corporate culture has an impact on a firm's long-term financial performance: that corporate culture will probably be an even more important factor in determining the success or failure of firms in the next decade; that corporate cultures that inhibit long-term financial performance are not rare and that they develop easily. even in firms that are staffed by reasonable and intelligent people; and that corporate cultures, although difficult to change, can be made more performance enhancing. The purpose of this study, therefore, was to establish the statistical relationship between organisational culture and financial performance.

Research on school dropout suggests that the decision to drop out of school is not a sudden or immediate one, but rather the result of a long-term process of withdrawal from school. While school engagement and truancy are among the most prominent constructs to be associated as precursors of school dropout, the relationship between these two constructs needs further analysis. Our study establishes more comprehensive understanding of school engagement and truancy by focusing on students’ individual characteristics and their relationships in school, particularly the student-teacher relationship and relationships with peers. It demonstrates that among the individual characteristics the migration background is crucial for school engagement, while the student age is important for truancy. Furthermore, peer-relationships are positively related to students’ school engagement, but not to their truancy. Furthermore, a good student-teacher relationship not only has positive impacts on students’ school engagement, but is also negatively associated with truancy, while school engagement mediates this path.

This paper considers a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) downlink scheduling procedure in Long Term Evolution (LTE) cellular networks. In particular, the relationship between Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) and MIMO utilization in LTE Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) systems was examined using the statistical analysis. Data was collected from a mature mobile network deployed in typical frequency bands for LTE FDD used in Europe - Band 3, Band 7 and Band 20. Obtained numerical results showed a significant correlation between reported CQI value and MIMO utilization.

Pain and sleeplessness are two of the commonest reasons for primary care appointments. The prevalence of each problem alone is high, and to add to the complexity, pain and insomnia frequently co-occur, with pain interrupting sleep and pain being further aggravated following a poor night’s sleep. Sleep and pain management are increasingly recognized as important to public health. In particular, insomnia and chronic pain are long-term conditions that actively contribute to morbidity, disability, economic burden to society, and suffering to the individual and immediate family. This chapter examines the interrelationship between the two at the population level. Specifically, evidence from population-based studies regarding the co-occurrence and temporal link of pain and sleep is reviewed, with moderators and mediators of the relationship highlighted. Possible directions for future research and treatment development are also outlined.

A series of discussions about Slovenian cultural politics from the viewpoint of managers and creators of the performing arts. We interview three practitioners, producers and artists who question and contextualize their own actions. Simon Kardum has transitioned from activist to practitioner, from dreamer to politician. He is the manager of the public institution CUK Kino Šiška. Janez Janša considers the relationship between the public and private cultural sectors. He describes what the differences between the two are and were, and what they could be, and the consequences of erasing these differences. He is the longtime manager of Maska Institute, one of the biggest NGOs in the field of the performing arts in Slovenia. Iztok Kovac is a pragmatist, thinks in the long-term and focuses on the institution in the context of the individual and the contemporary dance genre. He is a pioneer in institutionalizing Slovenian contemporary dance and the manager of the Španski Borci Culture Centre. The interviewees see more errors and possibilities for development in the areas that they are perhaps less familiar with. Between the lines, we find space for possible dialogue, common work for a common cause.

ObjectiveShift work is known to be related to several negative health consequences and sickness absence. Research results regarding the relationship between types of shift schedules and sickness absence and whether and how individual factors moderate this relationship, are mixed though. The present paper aims to provide more insight in these relationships.MethodsWe used registry data from a large Norwegian hospital gathered for the years 2012–2016, for >14 000 employees. With random effects at the individual and unit levels, we analysed the relationship between shift schedule worked and sickness absence in the same year.ResultsThe results showed increased risk of short-term sickness absence for two-shift and three-shift rotations, as well as fixed night shifts compared with fixed-day shifts. We also found an increased number of absence periods for two-shift rotations without nights and three-shift rotations. Results for long-term sickness absence were mixed, with increased odds for two-shift rotations without nights, but reduced odds for three-shift rotations. We found partial support for a moderating influence of age, gender and parental status.ConclusionsThere is a clear relationship between working shifts and increased risk of short-term sickness absence. The relationship persists across gender, age group and parental status. The relationship between shift work and long-term sickness absence appears to be schedule and population specific. These findings may have implications for HR policies and the organisation of shift work in healthcare organisations.

The work is devoted to the study of the relationship between the individual clinker minerals content, the stone compressive strength in different periods of hardening and the binders kinetic hardening constants. It is shown that C3S and C2S affect the cements’ kinetic hardening constants in the early and long-term periods in different ways. There is a positive effect of C2S on the ultimate compressive strength and a sharp decrease in the dependence of the stone ultimate strength on C3S in the later periods. The initial hardening rate in high-cement cement is established to increase sharply with an increase in the C3A content from 5 to 12%. The increase in the C3A content up to 12% in low-cement cement has little effect on the initial hardening rate value.

Introduction: Long-term stress can also lead to mental disorders such as anxiety, depression and physical burnout. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between hospital occupational stress and prevalence of depression among nurses working in Ilam hospitals. Methods: This is a descriptive-analytic study. The statistical population includes the staff of Imam Khomeini Hospital and martyr Mostafa Khomeini Hospital in Ilam. The study was conducted using a census method. The criteria for entering the individuals were their willingness to participate in this study. The subjects were included in the study with complete satisfaction. Demographic questionnaires, standard questionnaires for occupational stress (HSI), and Beck Depression Inventory were used. Questionnaires were distributed to pre-trained individuals. The data was extracted and analyzed by SPSS software. Results: The findings of this study showed that 31.8% of the samples had a degree of depression. In this study, the rate of depression in men is higher than that of women. According to the results, occupational stress and environmental stress in nursing women were more than men. There is a significant relationship between job stress and stress associated with life with depression (p = 0.001, p = 0.004, respectively). Conclusion: The results of this study always emphasize the point that attention should be paid to stress and stressful occupation of nursing and to think about it and to take preventive measures. Because of the stress of the valve towards all mental illnesses In the event of manpower and the work of a community, it can cause many problems and costs for the individual and society and reduce the quality of the services provided by the nurses.

Variations in psychological features, including the emergence of, or recovery from, psychiatric disorder, typically involve a long-term process. Consequently, most investigations of these processes will assess the individual or group on a number of occasions, creating complexities in any accompanying statistical analysis. In this paper an approach to analysing such data is introduced, including an extension of the t-test and the analysis of variance.

Hemodialysis therapy of patients with chronic kidney disease can changes the patients physically, psychological, social and economics because they have to deal with it for the rest of their life. This can affect the quality of life of the patients because of the long-term of hemodialysis therapy, this is one of the factors that affect the quality of life of the patients with chronic kidney disease. Quality of life is focused on the assessment of the individual against conditions acceptance. Each individual takes different phases to accept the condition. The purposes of the study were to determine if the relationship between the duration of hemodialysis and quality of life of the patients with chronic kidney disease at Gatoel Hospital Mojokerto. This research used cross-sectional design. The patient's population with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis is 150 people. The research sample is drawn using sampling techniques with the type of nonprobability purposive sampling with 130 people as a sample. Data obtained from questionnaires KDQoL 36. The result using Spearman rho test using SPSS V.16 shows p < α (0,006 < 0,05). H0 rejected, this means that there is a relationship between the duration of hemodialysis and quality of life with chronic kidney disease at Gatoel Hospital Mojokerto. The quality of life of the patients fluctuated based on the stage adaptation of the hemodialysis and disease. However, most patients with the duration of hemodialysis for more than 12 months had a sufficient quality of life and their therapy are already familiar with the symptoms and complications, but there are other factors that affect the quality of life such as gender, marital status, and education level. Patients are also expected to cooperate in what to do and not to do to improve the quality of life of the patients.
